I am on my way too; I am next, RCIA / OCIA. The misrepresentation of Catholics you mention I noticed too over the years. The misleading certain pastors do is either dishonest or lazy preaching. Honesty and integrity is paramount to a charitable, virtuous life! I cannot get enough of Catholic teaching. I am 4 weeks into this and I spend hours a day learning and it is a joy. All the best to both of you with your respective channels.

I never realized the absolute hatred that a lot of Protestant churches have towards the Catholic Church! It is very sad! They say we’re not even Christian’s! Now we have to say Catholic Christian’s! There is no excuse for this ignorance! All they have to do is watch a Mass on YT. Or EWTN I can’t tell you how many times a Protestant has told me what the Catholic Church believes! They don’t have a clue!
I pray for conversion’s of all souls!
Lord have mercy! Christ have mercy!

I really loved Megan's comment on seeing Jesus face to face in the Sacraments. Some protestants think they cornered the market on "having a personal relationship with Jesus". What could be more personal than receiving Jesus in the Eucharist? The Sacraments are an intimate way to have a personal relationship with Jesus.

They can think whatever they want but it doesn’t make it true.
They constantly need to bash Catholics with lies to make their beliefs seem true.
When you stand on truth then there is no need to debate it nor have any need to have Catholic prove their faith as truth.
Their conscience eats at them because of their errors in scripture.

Many when they leave the country to work abroad usually leave the true church and leave the RCC, leaves the Eucharist. I became a catechist in 1992, which helped me a lot on holding on to the authenric faith.

Even cradle Catholics go through very strong doubts, especially as teens, young 20's......the world & pleasures can take over, big time ! I was away for almost 20 years....searching for "truth" near & far.......from esoteric to Eastern philosophy.....finally came full circle back to the Catholic church......never had to search again ! So very glad ! So now I feel priviledged to understand on a deep level, my faith ......most appreciate what reading good books about saints lives (very powerful), the Miraculous nature of the Eucharist....both in Adoration, and in Communion at Mass, the true Marian apparitions ......are astounding....loving messages....mystcism is something I really wanted when I was searching elsewhere.....I came to see the deep mysticism in these things I have mentioned above: mystical saints lives, Adoration, Eucharstic miracles (still happening), Marian apparitions & finally in Mass/confession ! It is all there, if we actually ask the Holy Spirit to be present during these times ! Be humble....'seek Me & you will find Me....I am knocking on the door of your heart'......approximate quote !

I'm a Jewish convert to the Catholic Faith. I had an amazing conversion experience in 1990. Then the Lord led me to the Catholic Church. Since then I've read a lot of fascinating Jewish conversion stories, like for instance Roy Schoeman's. There are a number of books with collections of testimonies. The Lord is absolutely amazing in the variety of ways He works in people's lives. He's the one who has a personal relationship with each of us. I never tire of hearing these stories because it tells me so much about Jesus.

Megan, it is John 6 that is the discourse on the Eucharist and Christ's body... My most cherished chapter of the bible...and another is 1 Corinthians 11, esp. verse 29. This is where the Holy Spirit led me when I was a teen and had some doubt because of Protestant friend's comments. I have not doubted the Catholic Church/faith since. John chapter 5 is the preaching of the kingdom, multiplying of the loaves and fishes, and IMHO the drawing of men for the new priesthood, from the Jewish tribe (Judah?) that never had a priest serve at the altar, of which our Lord is the High Priest. Two chapters worth really studying in depth. God bless you dear!

Let's pray for your extended family to receive the light of truth, so they don't keep harping on what it is they believe Catholicism is when it is not. And it is liberating as your host said: freedom of truth or something. The Pontiff does give us a certainty that no other protestant faith can, simply because the Church stems from the apostles and is or has the desposit of faith. Anything else pails in comparison. As a cradle Catholic who has been assailed by the Pentecostals, I never budged because of my love of the Eucharist but also the Papacy, the Primacy of Peter is so important and liberating, because no man rose up and protested. It's called apostolic succession. I guess in hindsight to stay makes me think Catholics are imbued with a lot of humility, and not pride that leads to dissent. Proud of being in the Church Christ founded...Yes! But not pride...You mentioned Mary. I read recently that Mary is the first Church. It makes sense because her womb bore Jesus and so it is the first Church. She goes in to bat for her Son and of course rejoices when another person converts and believes in Her Son, because She, along with Jesus, doesn't want one person to be lost to perdition for not believing...She doesn't want Her Son's death and resurrection to be in vain. Amen

“I can definitely relate. After about 7 years of wrestling, I came out of the RCC about 3 months ago. It was an incredibly difficult decision, but I realized I couldn't keep sitting on the fence. I was stuck. Eventually I realized that regardless of whether some of the things the RCC teaches are true or not, if it requires me to commit even one idolatrous act or affirm one thing that is untrue, then I couldn't be a part of it. Something I just realized in the past couple of days is that the RCC has a different Gospel than the one I believe, and I'm not than the one I believe, and I'm not talking about the usual Protestant argument of faith vs works, etc. The RCC teaches that you have to accept all of its dogmas. As I understand the gospel, it is the simple truth that if someone repents of their sin and believes in Jesus they are saved. In effect, the RCC gospel is repent and believe in Jesus, believe in the Immaculate Conception, sinless life, and bodily assumption of Mary, believe that the first Pope was Peter and that there is a successive line of bishops who are infallible, believe in Purgatory and that your own merits and the merits of others can shorten or eliminate your time there, believe that forgiveness is only through a priest, and believe every other part of Cannon Law put forward by the Church. If you don't affirm any one of those beliefs you are anathematized according to the RCC. That's quite the burden if you ask me. It reminds me of the religious leaders in the time of Jesus, who had added so much to the Law that people were being crushed by it. I will pray that you get some clarity because I know what it feels like to be in that state of limbo.
It's like you want to be fully on board and on fire for Christ, but how can you do that if you don't even know what you believe yourself. At least that's how I experienced it. Either way, don't be afraid. If you are seeking with all your heart, God will direct you. Shalom.”

It’s because you come from a Protestant background and to undo all of the Protestant teachings to adopt Catholic ones is hard especially when the Protestant believe all of the lies abut Catholicism.
The best way is to be humble and ask God to help you understand the truth.
If you’re sincere and have a strong desire he will show you as he has shown me so much.
Be careful with scrupolosity since the devil loves to manipulate people’s hearts. There are Catholic la who suffer from it and don’t even know it.
Where Protestants get it wrong concerning faith and works is that St Paul in Romans is specifically speaking about works of the law without faith in Jesus Christ.
Salvation comes by faith in Jesus Christ thru grace which help the believer do works of the law(righteous deeds) with ease rather than doing righteous works without faith in Christ which is what Jews and Muslims do.
That’s a lot harder and sets one self up with scrupolusity behavior that only drive the person to despair and overwhelming oneself to the point of quitting.
It’s very simple! You believe in Jesus Christ, you repent and begin to make changes in your life and perform righteous deeds to help you grow in holiness/virtues.
This can only happen with Gods grace and not on our own strength.
If we do righteous deeds without faith in Jesus Christ then we automatically seek recognition or pay or both from others.
Those types don’t do it out of love for God and neighbor but for self glory.
Or like Jews and Muslims, to earn their way into heaven.
Works of charity isn’t a bad thing, it is actually a mandate from Jesus Christ himself. It is the only way one is going to bear good fruit. This is the reason why the Catholic Church has 1.4 billion followers. Because of works of charity proving our salvation by our works.
Now.. works from sacraments. That is also in the Bible and Jesus said in St John 6 to not work for the food that perishes but to work for the food that endures to eternal life.
This food is the Eucharist which one has to work for to receive his blessings.
How do we work for it?
We live a life of sanctifying grace and virtuously.
How can we grow in virtue and remain in a state of grace?
      Frequent the sacrament of reconciliation?
The more you confess your sins the more you receive Holy Communion the more graces God blesses you with to grow in holiness.
This is how you remain in him and he in you. He cannot remain in someone who is in sin, especially mortal sin.
But the true test of faith is believing in Jesus’ words in St John 6.
If you believe then you’ll stay like the Apostles but if you don’t believe then you’ll leave the disciples and go back to works of the law without faith in Jesus Christ. No grace, pure works!

We do not abandon Jesus and his Church because of the sins and errors of Fallen Man. You find a REVERANT Mass and you LEARN the proper full teachings of your FAITH which by your testimony you don't know. It is up to each individual to study their FAITH. Papal infallibility in teaching Christ's doctrine, not in giving of their own opinion, not in introducing new teachings of confusion. Well I'm glad your off the fence, but the FACT is purgatory is very real there are many eye witness accounts and articles touch by souls from purgatory. Church Fathers wrote out of 100,000 souls that died only 3 were saved and went to purgatory. In the Bible, " Nothing unclean can enter heaven it must first be purged by FIRE. Average time of a soul was revealed as 40 years. The Immaculate Conception was revealed to St Bernadette when the Bishop asked her, a young girl with little education who the Lady was appearing at the Grotto in Lourdes (France) where many miracles are still happening today through the miraculous waters. When Bernadette asked the Lady who she was Mary revealed she was the "Immaculate conception and Bernadette didn't have the education to make it up. So if nothing unclean can enter heaven how could God be born any other way then through Mary who had NO SIN.
Satan you forget has an intellect far superior then you and me and he roams the earth with his evil spirits looking for vulnerable souls. You are not alone, I left for a long time too but I started to pray the Holy Rosary Daily and read God's Holy Word, just a little each day, within a month everyday praying the Holy Spirit gave me the gift of discernment and I prayed for knowledge. Learn your Faith, don't just believe what others tell you, that's not enough. Jesus is calling us NOW, many are called few are chosen.❤ Godbless you🙏

All are welcome to the banquet of the lord God gives us the choice and the freedom so I think to myself 🤔? How can I say that I truly believe in Jesus as my Lord and savior in the holy scriptures but in the meanwhile most what they’re doing is exactly what Jesus disciples did? On that passage when our lord was saying to his disciples about the real presence in the bread of life as his flesh and his blood and most couldn’t accepted this truth so they left Jesus when he was saying that unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood you won’t have life in you, and then what did Jesus said to his apostles after the other ones left him? Exactly he looked at them and said do you wish to leave me also? And what did Peter said to our lord? Lord to whom should we go if you have the words of the eternal life? And this is us the Catholics who we truly believe in his words in the holy scriptures so we are being like Peter and his apostles and this is why I belong to the Roman, apostolic, Catholic Church of Christ, my lord and my savior 🙏🙌 and I thank the lord for being born in a nation that was chosen for God to protect his holy church and his teachings and this nation is Portugal the first Templar nation in the world who spread out the gospel of our lord Jesus around the world to the pagan nations among our brothers from Spain viva Portugal 🇵🇹 viva Espanha 🇪🇸 🙏🙌❤️🇵🇹🇺🇸

I was waiting for a description of what Jesus' face looked like, but okay.
I think at 20 something I wouldn't have been able to process so much. When I was about 38 it took some time for me to process what the gospel means and i only looked into it due to the witness of a friend who told me that he got saved and born again so I wanted to find out what that was about. Megan seems to have done a lot of research but I'd like to know if she believes that the Mass is an actual sacrifice? How did she come to understand that we need a separate priesthood to receive God's grace? Does she buy into the theory of purgatory and temporal suffering for sins? But one thing she never alluded to was trusting in the work and sacrifice of Jesus which is what saves. She never spoke of the joy of salvation. That would make me wonder if such a one is truly born again or not, or does that mean it is of little value? That is the thing I thank Jesus for multiple times a day. Seems to be not important to Catholics.😢

Did you know that the bread of the presence in the Old Testament was sometimes called the Bread of the Face? The bread of the presence was a foreshadowing of what we now experience in the New Covenant through the Eucharist. What I mean by face to face is that I am able to be with Jesus, literally, and experience his presence, literally when I receive the Eucharist. If you want to understand more of what Catholics mean by these things and the Biblical justification for them, read Jesus and the Jewish Roots of the Eucharist by Brant Pitre.
I am not obligated to prove to you that I am a Christian, but I will point out that in this video I did not primarily focus on a salvation experience or a moment of trusting in the work of Jesus because I had those experiences while I was still an evangelical, before becoming Catholic. This video is about the additional graces I have begun to experience since becoming Catholic. As I mentioned in this video, I had known Jesus personally from the time of my youth (and by this I mean that I had surrendered my life to Christ and had also been baptized), but without the rest of the Sacraments, it was a long distance relationship.
What I will always say to someone who doubts my experience or someone that worries about my soul now that I have become Catholic - pray for me! There is always more work that needs to be done in my heart. God bless.

@@FiledUnderFaith Thanks for your explanation! Please excuse my doubts but I question everyone because I myself was confused about the gospel at first and there seems to be so much to convince us to leave the simplicity of Christ. I have been refining my thoughts and beliefs for some time.If you care about others I think you might test their belief in some way. Many evangelicals are off target or have never been born again because no one led them. Sadly many drift to Mormonism or SDA. All my relatives are Catholic. My sister is the Dre at her church. But my main concern is for the homeless here in Fort Worth. Jesus tells us the reasons people fall away in the parable of the Sower(Mt 13).
But in conclusion, I would say that intimacy with Jesus begins with intimacy with His word. He is the word. The book I sometimes recommend (besides the Bible) is "The Practice of the Presence of God" by Brother Lawrence. Do you know of it?
