Stunning E55, I cracked my rad so mines out of service for a few days. Needed some motivation to fix it and this was it!
@ihaia829 - Thank you! I know the feeling. Sometimes you just need something to push you to get started. Glad this was it!
Realy good video, you got my dream car bro.
@ikkevictorrene438 - Thank you! Ever since I watched Vossen's youtube video with these same wheels on a black e55, I was in love.
CLEAN AF
@_Philip_ Thanks!
Beautiful Car, very nice informative video. However, I have to take issue with your assertion that there is no height difference between the sport settings. I have seen a video showing that there is indeed a height adjustment made between the different airmatic settings, for a total of 4 heights (if you include vehicle rising mode) with sport 2 being the lowest. it is VERY miniscule, but it does happen. Can be confirmed with measurements and everything, as well as owners manuals information I think sport is -.6 and sport 2 (or sport+) is -1.0. It works this way on my CLS, perhaps this is different from the E-class, but I doubt it.
@Dokuji - Thank you! Very interesting that the CLS drops with the settings. I have measured mine in all setting, with zero change.
Thanks for the video, also for mentioning about the 10min ride going 55+ then switching to stock height always wondered about that, I have this beast 06 black with 19" wheels but need new ones previous cuz owner didn't know how to park next to the curb lol, all scratched up also have low profiles, my complaint is I can feel every bump, but isn't this car considered a Limo? Air ride yes and I wouldn't never do coil over but ride not so bueno!
@inmoneywetrust3292 - thanks for the info on the coils!
Mike could you post the complete tire size for the front and rear?
Good info thanks for the vid.
@robertlambert5299- You're welcome, I am glad you found it helpful. The wheels are Vossen VVS-CV3-R, which unfortunately are discontinued. I traded another set of wheels to get these. When new, they were about $2,000 for the set of wheels only. They were then stripped and new powder coating was applied. Most people run 285 or 295s in the rear, I wanted something a bit wider. I (carefully) rolled and pulled all (4) fenders about .25".
FRONTS: weight 24lbs, offset 25, 20 x 9", tires are Hankook K120 Ventus V12 Evo2 255/30/20.
REARS: weight 26lbs, offset 30, 20 x 10.5", tires are Hankook K120 Ventus V12 Evo2 305/25/20.
Need video of someone without airtide putting on lowering springs coilovers
@robertehlers4330 - The are out there
Is that maxed out low are is there enough threading to go lower
@kevinvysel2198- no there is enough threads to go much lower.
does this put more stress on the air bags or other components?
@RegoTVs - No not that I am aware of. I have never heard of any issues lowering these cars this way
Yes it puts more stress on the air bags and it doesn’t ride as well.
Took air ride out got regulator now bit now i cant get lowered links shottttt lol
robertehlers4330 -lol
What is the p for all the way to the right mine only has that
@robertehlers4330- Sorry, where are you referring to?
“Parking sensor on/off”
where have you bought the rims
@KenSmith-qk8hk - I traded an OEM set for these a while back. They are Vossen CV3
CV3 are imposible to get since they've been discontinued so long ago. I have a set for this vehicle, however they've got cracks on all 4 rims. Love what you're doing here. I can't find anything that would have the same look. Subscribed and following your progress on the 55.@@PrecisionMike
I can't find any information on this, but is the W211 (saloon) the same drop links as the S211 (estate)?
I'm pretty confident it is, but can't find anything that definitely says.
@Mashmarriner69 - hey there! Really good question. I think for the front, yes. But I think the rear suspension is a bit different on the estate? I could be wrong
@@PrecisionMike I'm not too sure. I mean it would make sense to have the same for the estate and salon, but with the lower model estates having a leveling system on the rear. That's what is throwing me off.
I've ordered some from a retailer who stated it would fit the W211 and S211. So hopefully it's the same.
@@Mashmarriner69 - Good luck! I hope the video is helpful
@@PrecisionMike really helpful. I have installed links before on my CL500 but it was the rear that was throwing me off.
This video just made my decision for me.
Just a heads up for anyone wondering the same as I was. Yes, the salon is the same as the estate. 😂. My estate is now slammed so much I can't turn the wheel. 🤦♂️😂
is the car an import from germany?
@hayace - It was made in Germany, so yes.
Im in AZ can you help me install some lowering links lol.
@kingbryant5673 - wish I could, but I have a hard enough time getting the stuff on my list done! Hopefully the video is helpful
@@PrecisionMike it absolutely was.
@@PrecisionMike if you ever need another hand I'd be happy to meet another local 211 owner and turn a wrench
@@kingbryant5673 - Excellent!
@@kingbryant5673 - cool! where are you located in AZ?
What wheels are these ?
@SkywardAir - Vossen CV3. 20x10.5 and 20x9. They are no longer made. IMO, they are the perfect wheels for this car.
Hi Mike, do you know what offsets were front and rear
@PrecisionMike
@@meen692 Very sorry- I missed this. The offset for the front is 25, the rear is 30
