Everyone, please - enough with the "YOU FORGOT..." Once again. This is not a video about every single thing Mickey has appeared in or every single costume he has ever worn, it is about the evolution of his 'design'. Yes, he may appear in 'Mickey and the Roadster Racers' in racing gear, but his design is prominently the same as every other 3D version of the character, such as that from 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse' - which was touched on in the video. If I were to talk about every single thing Mickey ever appeared in and every time he changed an outfit or a t-shirt, we'd be here all day.
I love Mickey's 30's style, he's a lot more flexible and more expressive compared to his older design, which can lead to some fantastic displays of emotion and smooth animation. I do enjoy his modern design, it's neat and all, but 30's Mickey has a place in my heart and will always remain my favorite Mickey
For a few cartoons starting with The Little Whirlwind, Mickey's ears were redesigned so they would look not perfectly round when his head was in a silhouette but audiences didn't like the new look so the ears became perfect circles once again and stayed that way ever since even in CGI form.
My fondest childhood memories of Mickey Mouse was repeated Christmas viewings of Mickey's Once (and Twice) Upon a Christmas and reruns of House of Mouse. I love that Mickey is still a major part in Disney's legacy today, and while I'm not an avid watcher of the new cartoons, I really like the distinct style and the more I see clips of them and will try to check them out soon. My favorite Mickey cartoons are easily The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Get a Horse, Thru the Mirror, The Band Concert, Lend a Paw, and Pluto's Judgement Day, just to name a few.
@@mr.deejay8830 I'm not kidding when I say that I am physically incapable of picturing an angular Mickey in my head! The closest I can get to is the new Mickey Mouse shorts design.
My favorite look is actually one that wasn't mentioned. Mickey went through a slight design change in Epic Mickey. While the base design is heavily influence from the Pie-Eyes version, Mickey is a bit skinnier and lankier, if only by a little, making him seem more stretchy and malleable, sorta like an ink blot, which is appropriate given the games theming and the fact that Mickey literally absorbs some of The Blot. This version of Mickey is a well-meaning character, but his curiosity caused all the problems that led to the story of Epic Mickey, so he's certainly a bit more mischievous, just in the Steamboat Willie "playful" way!

What I like about Symphony Hour is that Goofy accidentally broken the instruments and the musicians were forced to play them live. And I was shocked when Mickey pulled a gun on Donald when he was trying to walk out in the middle of the performance!

One fact is wrong. Though Walt Disney himself did most of Mickey's voice during the 30's and 40's until Fun and Fancyfree where it was the last time he did Mickey due to both being very busy as boss and also his voice were affected by smoking too much and therefore only the first half of Mickey and The Beanstalk and for the rest of the shorts and TV-special until Mickey's Christmas Carol, he was replaced by Sound Designer Jimmy McDonald, Walt didn't do Mickey's voice in Carnival Kid, that is a common mistake. It was actually music director Carl W. Stalling most known for doing music for Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies cartoons, who did Mickey's first voice with "Hot Dogs! Hot Dogs!". A missed fact that for a short time Mickey's ears would change from perfectly round all the time no matter the direction he was facing, to slightly more realstic ears that looks differnet when angeled, starting with The Little Whirlwind but audicenes didn't like the design so he returned to his iconic perfectly round ears, similar to Elmer Fudd was overweight for a few cartoons to match body physique with his voice actor Arthur Q Bryant (though his fat face were kept for the future).
