@florez5871 Hm, you're right that they're good friends, etc. But Joe often seems to have a problem with Alex's opinion on things. Alex has high standards, and there's nothing wrong with that. But Joe's inability to just accept that his word is not gospel isn't as such a conversation...its more clear that he's trying to convert Alex, and in a roundabout way, 'win' his argument.

@@Azurek1991 Also - Shin was clearly toying with Sabine - so wouldn't have gone (as the location of the blow shows) a instant killing hit like nearer to the heart - was leaving her in maximum pain, but also maximum chance of survival - given that Ahsoka was basically on the scene within seconds, that probaby increased the chance too

Yeah, my immediate reaction was "Ok. Clearly he's never watched Rebels.. Cus Chop is a mass murderer." Also there were quite a few deaths in Rebels, not counting Choppers mass-murdering ways. Characters have fallen to death, one character fell into a fire and BURNED TO DEATH, many fighters / ships that get blown up .. etc. There's a fair amount of killing for a "kid's" show.
@@Hathur not to mention in the first season itself we see the Grand Inquisitor behead the 2 officers on lothal under Tarkins orders. It's just done off screen but you hear those bodies thud on the floor.
Right? I’m so tired of that. I watched the first episode again and the fight choreography is pretty bad. Shin was doing those stupid 360 spins when it is totally unnecessary. It was like both of them were swinging baseball bats.
I feel the same way as Alex. Despite having watched every season of Rebels, I personally don't enjoy it very much; very kiddish. Characters like Erza don't do it for me. I wouldn't say that Rebels is a bad show as there are a few good episodes.
Recently tried watching one whole season to get ready for Ashoka and oh man I had the same feelings as Alex did I’m not spending my days off watching a show targeted to children instead I watched a cliff noted version of rebels on RUclips and was like oh ok cool next…. Just wasn’t for me
I just watched a trailer for Rebels, it looks like the Lego games. I kind of want to see them make Alex watch it Clockwork Orange style, eye's taped open so we dont have to.
give Rebels a chance my man. I was in the same boat as Alex and you until around 2021 during lockdown running out of shows to watch. Finally decided to give it a chance. It was a grind through that first season of childish filler crap. But the climax was juuust interesting enough for me to go on to S2. From there everything is up. The childish art style is toned down so s2-4 you can see the shift to emulate the old clone wars series a lot more. The plot gets better. They bring back and do justice for some old characters. And when Rebels first premiered I was like 16 so I was in that phase of “I’m too old for cartoons” and pretty much dismissed it like 5 minutes in to the first time it aired on TV. I missed out. And I feel any SW fan that doesn’t give it a chance is missing out.
What the heck AJ? I get that you like the series but there's no need to fangirl so hard over it. You didn't even let the boys give their review scores, you dropped a big 9/10 and ended the video handwaving the issues the others might have had. That's unprofessional and in my opinion the video isn't complete, and frankly that's totally rude man. I get that you don't like that Alex disagreed with you, but it's just his opinion, you don't have to take it personally. You're better than this.
“I don’t like Ezra” I’ve never agreed with Alex more than I do right in this moment. I have watched every episode of Rebels and I hated Ezra from start to finish. I’m really not liking Sabine here in Ahsoka either. She was probably my 2nd favorite character in Rebels, right behind Chopper, but she was nothing but an annoying brat here in Ahsoka.
He only watched season 1 though… so I’m not saying he would absolutely start liking Ezra but it’d be like judging Ashoka just based on some of the stupid things she does as a Padawan in early clone wars. They do it better with her, but they both get smarter and develop to being less annoying better developed characters. Ashoka still better, not trying to say I like them equally. Not really fair to judge Ezra super harshly when you’ve only seen the first season, which is by far the worst of rebels.
@@khalilgray6903na, Ezra went from stealing fruits for himself to sacrificing himself to remove Thron from the galaxy. Lots of character growth. He may come off as annoying because he’s just some brat orphan growing up in a messed up galaxy and not some noble trained and logical Jedi.

They have somehow managed to make lightsabers ineffective (just for plot twists). Lightsaber to stomach... Just walk it off. Already lost hope for Disneys Star Wars sadly.
Not everyone gets de limbed or decapitated in a fight. They are sword also so not every hero or person has died from being cut or stabbed by one. Qui Gon got nailed through the chest/spine and if you’ve seen any other Starwars content that ist Disney then it’s happened heaps of people being stabbed and not dying from a non fatal blow.
@@Blanktester685 Darkside is a path to a lot of abilities some consider unnatural. Rage boner for Kenobi helped Maul and Vader to survive stuff that should kill them
True, but it's still dumb (Dave Filoni might be the main problem...) And lightsaber shouldn't be like a sword. It should cut throught everything (except some special material/shields). "Killing" of Maul was bad idea, but bringing back was worse. These constant leaving to die moments eg. plot twists just make the problems worse.
It will - only the first two episodes are usually good in order to garner attention, but eventually they will end up as disappointments, and will give a very anti-climactic ending.
It will depend on what your expectations are. Remember that this is Dave Filonis show and he has a style and influenced by things that you will either like or dislike. If you liked the other things made by him you will probably like Ahsoka.
I agree with Alex, I never got into the animated series. If it was made to look like the Starship trooper animated show, that felt a bit more less cartoony. But so far I like the visuals of Ahsoka. No characters so far feel annoying or patronising characters like Halo's KWAN!!!
Yeah Ahsoka was definitely WAY off in her personality compared to all previous iterations including mando and boba. Alex and Oj were 100% right and it is clearly taking place around the same time of those two stories based on the opening crawl of Ahsoka ep1 with the capture of that witch lady from mando season 2
@embioz1 After watching ep3 its clear they are doing an "Ancient Martial Arts Master" thing with her, and it doesn't fit well. Plus, she's missing the long white beard lol
It definitely feels like this is a show meant for Rebels fans, so unfortunately, since I haven’t seen Rebels yet, I can’t really say I’ve had much interest in watching this
Rebels is okay. Personally, I hated two of the characters, Ezra and Chopper. There are some episodes that I do not care for, but then there some that are really good
I’ve only seen bits and pieces of Rebels, really only the later stuff with Maul. Nothing of a ‘big Rebels fan’, but I still enjoyed the start to Ahsoka
2:05 starts off with the dark Jedi being invited onboard which was stupid and the Captain brings six lightweight security officers just in case something goes wrong. Why not just hand over the keys to the ship and throw himself out to the vacuum of space as well?
AJ was extremely defensive and it kinda made this review unbearable. It's fine to disagree, but then they start arguing semantics over what's considered a "kids show" and even tries to take a swing a Luke in the original trilogy.
11:46 No it is not in character for sabine, she was more mature in rebels. But if you want to argue about that, rebels was 9 years ago, she should jot be acting like a child now
I'm sort of conflicted because on one hand I'm happy to see Thrawn in live action, but It feels weird having read the Heir to the Empire trilogy (amazing btw). It's still early so I don't want to write it off, but I cant help but feel they are going to attempt a bastardized version of his character and that overall story here.
AJ needs to put his fanboy aside and review this show for what it is. Believe me I loved Clone Wars and Ashoka. This is not the storytelling I love, and it's important to recognize that.
Good StarWars is back? huh ... where is it? Is it hiding behind Ahsoka? Is that good StarWars with us in the room right now? Comparing it to Andor and the good Mandalorian parts hurt my sould lol.

Clone Wars and Rebels are some of the best post-Lucas Star Wars stories. I hope Alex gets over his stubborn "it's for kids" thing and gives them a watch. Kids' show doesn't always mean bad show.
Exactly. Just because it’s for kids doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy it as an adult. Avatar The Last Airbender is a kids show & I still rewatch it every now & then because of how well written the story, characters, & world are, & how great the action & comedy are.
Exactly. Rebels and Clone Wars has some of the best stories in all of Star Wars. Alex seems to want everything to be like Andor when there's plenty of room for other type of story telling.
I dropped kicked it when the lightsaber stab didn't kill her immediately and then she lived. That was about it for me. The cheap SW attire was baffling as well and I really like how they’re writing the two Jedi. When the master said it would be a shame to kill Ashoka since there are so few Jedi left it gave such an interesting dynamic to his character and My favorite character in all of this is Baylan, just the way he is "silent but deadly" vibe its great! Rest in Peace Ray.
Why? It clearly was not a central blow, so was nowhere near the heart or other vital organs - and a light saber literally works as a self-cauterizer so prevents bleeding out. Ahsoka is basically already there, with her ship and the super advanced medical equipment they have in SW - so less than 1-2 mins before they'd have been able to get her into a healing bay. I know people make an argument about the death of Qui Gon (RIP) as a counter to other people living - but the differences could not be more stark. Qui gon was left for dead for 5+ mins whilst a duel was going on, in the middle of nowhere, nowhere near any advanced medical facilities. Whereas with this one, within minutes, she'd have been straight into the most advanced medical facilities in the GALAXY - and even then it clearly took days, maybe weeks for it to heal enough for her to be left with that bad ass scar and not fully fit. Reva on the other hand ...
Rebels came out when I was 33. I tried it, but didn't get far since it's a childrens show. This show seems tailored for fans of that show and a younger audience in general. Ahsoka feels like a CW show to me, and I can't stand it.
I thought it felt a little cheap that Sabine is now a Jedi. I can’t believe that half of the rebel crew are just force sensitive enough to where they could be Jedi. It felt like we went from Luke being the last jedi to jedis popping up in every piece of Star Wars media we get.
I'm not sure if Sabine is force sensitive. She didnt demonstrate any jedi powers until now. I think Ashoka was simply training her to fight with a lightsaber (and probably some jedi ideology. But nothing really practical)
@@awhbr1 they straight up says she has low aptitude towards the force, she also clearly doesn't hold the dark saber anymore. they also call her a padawan.

Episode 2 was better and renewed my interest in the show going forward. I do have to say I agree with Alex again with the lightsaber stuff, enough with people living through major lightsaber wounds.
It's clearly an homage to the old Kurosawa samurai movies. The characters express themselves through silence, small gestures and expressions equal to the dialogue and it's delivery. Now, children and people with adhd will obviously have issues with this but I for one enjoy this slow but deliberate form of filmmaking alot.
@@Peer165 I don't agree with your assessment. Kurosawa used closeups and well framed shots allowing us to SEE those small gestures and composition that made the silence enjoyable to watch. Seeing AJ's grinning, hype and praise in the opening immediately made me fast forward to OJs and Alex's opinion😆. Not gonna get excited or even get expectations up in the slightest. Time and time again, Lucasfilm has never disappointed with disappointing fans of their IP's. If it's a good show? Great, I'm very happy they did something right finally. If it's just another multimillion dollar sh^tshow? Well, water is still wet, can't really get any lower than it is now.
At least she wasn't stabbed through the spine and then walked it off like in Obi-Wan, but yeah, I agree with the sentiment. Can we please stop treating impalement as a flesh wound? I know lightsabers canonically cauterize flesh so she's not at risk of bleeding out, but our bodies aren't made up of only flesh, there are internal organs and a wound like that probably took out a kidney at least.
My only 2 big criticisms of the show so far is the pacing and I don’t really think Hera and Sabine’s actresses have done a tonne of research if their characters. They just feel like generic good people with not a lot of personality
They don't need to do research on the characters, it's up to the writers to write them properly and the directors to direct the performances. This is what was approved by those people.
@@Meowtro What? Actors always do research on their characters. It’s basic acting lessons. You can’t get your characters demeanour and personality off a script. You think Heath Ledger got his joker from a director? Or Robert Downey Jr? They would’ve definitely been looking at the source material

Wren got a lightsaber put through and not only survived but was ready to go in a few days! Got to love DISNEY! Ashoka was never a JEDI, ever, she stated this in Rebels! ITs also a great thing when your audience can guess your entire story's arc after the first viewing. Great Writing!!!!
I explained this in another comment with some guy defending the whole lightsaber through the gut yet being totally fine the following day. Setting aside the fact that is just complete bullshit, it just seems like really lazy writing to fake out the audience into thinking she died then revealing immediately that she's totally cool. Like, if it's so realistic that she could have survived it, why did almost everybody that's defending it assume she was dead when it happened?
How can Alex have an opinion on Rebels if he's only watched the first season...? That's like judging the sequel trilogy based on just The Force Awakens
It had all the amazing Disney Star Wars Tropes, Getting ran through by a lightsaber then being slightly wounded and a MASSIVE explosion from self destructing droids that made literally no sense at all.
"I don't want to spend my time in a kids show", i would rather spend my time with videogames in a channel dedicated to videogames, tabletop games, and some more geeky and nerdy stuff... I like Alex but sometimes he needs to get down of his high horse
Why does Disney insist that you can just take a Lightsaber to the gut and walk it off first obi Wan and now ahsoka I remember back in the day if you got hit by a lightsaber you would either die or lose a limb
Alex, it's true Rebels is catered to kids but as seasons progress, especially season 3, there are some dark themes and more killings. It gets deeper. I would search online and look up the important non-filler episodes. The more you learn about Kanan, the more you will appreciate the show.
Bruh, calling Mando Season 3 bad, but THIS good is WILD. The poor actresses just have to sit around and smirk at each other all episode due to poor writing. Ahsoka is nothing like she is in the other 2 properties. Hell, the opening scene shows her figuring out a complex puzzle to get the map.... but then she cant seem to figure out how to twist 3 rings on a ball? Its pushing Sabine to be a character, but we already have a mandalorian badass... we dont need another, just let Ahsoka be the best character in Star Wars like she has been in CW and Rebels.
Right, like what is the point of having these discussions when only Angry Joe's score counts. He has them on cuz they are friends but he talks over them all the time and never lets their words influence his feelings good or bad... it's pointless.
Just finished episode 1, the fact that Joe was confused that people thought she was unlikable is a testament to how hard he's fanboying. She wasn't just a rebel, she was bratty and selfish, which then resulted in problems for other people. That's not how you do rebellious, but likable.
I agree with the guy in the middle. Rebels was a kids show, and Ezra was an annoying unlikeable character… Though it does have some good moments during its four seasons. I enjoyed these first two episodes, but I don’t imagine the show will appeal to a broad audience. The majority of original trilogy fans don’t care to watch cartoons and therefore won’t have any emotional investment in these characters. And I’ve read Heir to the Empire. At best it’s a passable piece of fan fiction. Most people will be like, “who the heck is this blue guy?!” And come on man. You can’t get impaled through the middle with a lightsaber and be okay. Stop that sh*t. But I’ll see it through. It could yet be an excellent show.
Ahsoka's first two episodes weren't as bad as those of, say, The Book of Boba Fett or Obi-Wan Kenobi (or Season 3 of the Mandalorian), but they weren't nearly as good as I hoped they would be. The only stand-out performance was Natasha Liu Bordizzo as Sabine, because she actually brought some energy to her performance. Everyone else, including Rosario as Ahsoka, seemed like they were at half-energy or didn't even want to be there. The pacing was glacial; I wanted to reach into my screen to pull the words out of them, because the drawn-out scenes of characters talking to one another or looking at stuff just DRAGGED. They could have easily compressed those two episodes down to one. The story was interesting to me only because I personally enjoyed Rebels, but since no one seemed like they cared about what they were doing on-screen, I was struggling to care, even though I know and like the characters. Also, I'm not buying Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Hera. She's not terrible in the role, but she absolutely wouldn't have been my first, second, or even 20th choice to play her. I'm not sure who I would've picked, but it wouldn't have been her. I'll watch another episode or two and see if it manages to hook me, but if it doesn't, I'm out. I'll just wait for Andor's 2nd season.
I thought the pacing was fantastic - more happened in the first episode than in the first 2-3 of Andor (which is, IMO, the 2nd best live action SW show behind Mando). There is nothing wrong with fleshing out the world, introducing characters that, for a significant portion of the audience (non Rebels watchers) would not have met before, etc. This was easily a great 8.5/10 start for me, and I can't wait to see whether they are going with the other galaxy, etc (unlike, say, Andor where we knew 100% where it was going to end up, but it was more about the journey and how they told it)
I'm mostly liking Ahsoka so far. It looks promising but I wouldn't place it that high yet among my favorites after only two episodes. I like the early callbacks to The Phantom Menace, Rogue One, and A New Hope. With no House of the Dragon S2 this year, Ahsoka sorta quenches our thirsts for any MCU/DC/SW/GRRM/nerdy content this August. I do find it slow in parts but Andor started much slower and it ended up finishing well after Ep 3 once Luthen showed up to plant the early seeds for the Rebel Alliance. Ahsoka is very stoic and quiet, so there's a lot of dead silence. The series gets these awesome fight scenes for a couple of minutes and then things slow down to a crawl for another 10 to 20 minutes of little talking and humor like you're watching 2001: A Space Odyssey. I'm not completely digging Sabine Wren yet. I find her a bit too emo. Obviously, she misses Ezra and that's not Ezra Miller. She's almost a cross between a bratty young Leia and Reva. She's Mandalorian but doesn't follow the rules. I like her enough but I'm not completely invested into caring about her or her motives yet. I think she drags the pacing down a bit. Disney is sorta doing it again. Is this about Ahsoka or Sabine? Just like Din Djarin took over The Book of Boba Fett by Ep 5 and essentially saved it from being the worst SW content ever. Just like Obi-Wan was really Reva's story. Just like The Mandalorian S3 became Bo-Katan's story. BTW, does Sabine have Wolverine's healing powers? Qui-Gon Jinn didn't survive the same type of cut from Darth Maul's stab. Fennec Shand needed mechanical parts for her tummy to revive her. Sabine heals like the very next day! Did she drink the Living Waters of Mandalore to heal that fast? The plot armor is strong with this one. Too bad Bacta tanks weren't invented before Qui-Gon got killed and it wasn't like Sabine was put in one to heal her wounds. Great to see Clancy Brown getting more work. I'm now aware he voices Savage Oppress in Rebels. Byron Hadley is my favorite character in The Shawshank Redemption (1994). "You either shut the f*ck up or I sing you a lullaby!" Clancy also voiced Surtur in Thor: Ragnarok. "It's a crown." Mary Elizabeth Winstead getting a Star Wars role thanks to being married to Prequel Obi-Wan in real life. She looks like a young Lynda Carter in her green Twi'lek getup. Her eyes really shine wearing that headdress. I think her character is just whatever. Doesn't bring humor to it but neither does most of the cast. The standout to me is actually the one Tyrone Magnus mocks with the staring: *Shin* *Hati* (portrayed by Ukranian, Ivanna Sahkno). She reminds me of *Chiaki* *Kuriyama* in Battle Royale (2000) and Kill Bill Vol. 1. Has this same maniacal doll face stare. Think M3GAN earlier this year. Or an evil version of Hit-Girl from the Kick-Ass films. Another character Shin reminds me of is Pom's Paris in Dead Reckoning Part One. I want an action figure of that savage little bitch! I thought some of the action sequences were really cool. Some moves looked cooler than all the cool ones Yoda did in Revenge of the Sith. But I do think the lightsaber fight between Shin vs. Sabine looked a little too amateurish in Ep 1. I don't expect these actresses to wield a lightsaber like Hayden and even Adam did in The Rise of Skywalker. They're just not as skilled and athletic enough, so they looked like they were noobs to their fight. I can tell the most experienced with the lightsaber is Rosario Dawson. Her moves are very simple but her stances looks fluid and confident when she swings them. Rosario probably trained the longest for it that Natasha Liu Bordizzo and Ivanna Sahkno didn't do for as long. I'm not saying Rosario is as good as Hayden, Ewan, and Adam, and she's already in her 40s, but she's the best from this cast so far from what I've seen. I'm just happy for Rosario. First time I saw her was in Kids (1995). A controversial NC-17 film along with Showgirls and I remember seeing it on TV during my high school freshman year. I've seen Rosario in He Got Game, Men In Black II, Alexander, Clerks II, both Sin City films, and Zombieland: Double Tap. I'm really happy she has a character she will forever be remembered by although she's probably a bigger Star Trek fan and knows Klingon. When I saw Clone Wars (2008 film), Ahsoka was about 16. Ahsoka is 47 in this show while Rosario Dawson is really 44. Battle of Yavin: When Luke blew up the Death Star in A New Hope. BBY: Before Battle of Yavin ABY: After Battle of Yavin * The Acolyte - ~132 BBY * Star Wars: The Phantom Menace - 32 BBY * Star Wars: Attack of the Clones - 22 BBY * Star Wars: The Clone Wars - 22BBY to 19 BBY * Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith - 19 BBY * Star Wars: The Bad Batch - 19 BBY * Solo: A Star Wars Story - 13 BBY to 10 BBY * Obi-Wan Kenobi - 10 BBY * Andor - 5 BBY * Star Wars Rebels - 5 BBY to 1 BBY * Rogue One: A Star Wars Story - 1 BBY * Star Wars: A New Hope - 0 BBY * Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back - 3 ABY * Star Wars: Return of the Jedi - 4 ABY * The Mandalorian (Seasons 1 & 2) - 9 ABY * The Book of Boba Fett - 11 ABY * The Mandalorian (Season 3) - ~11 ABY * Ahsoka - ~11 ABY * Star Wars: The Force Awakens - 34 ABY * Star Wars: The Last Jedi - 34 ABY * Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker - 35 ABY * Star Wars Resistance - 34 ABY to 35 ABY * Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy's Star Wars Movie - 45 ABY Ahsoka was born in 36 BBY. The series is parallel to The Mandalorian Season 3's timeline which is about 11 ABY. Hence, she's 47. Sabine is about 32. Luke Skywalker is still alive at this time and is about 30. Same with his fraternal twin sister, Leia. Han Solo would be 43. I find the music mostly mid. Obviously, Japanese since Kurosawa's The Hidden Fortress (1958) and Japanese samurai culture were a big influence on Star Wars. Even the name Ahsoka Tano sounds Japanese. Jedi comes from the Japanese word, 時代劇 jidaigeki, meaning 'period drama' motion pictures about samurai. If you remember, The Mandalorian S1, The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Andor all started slow. Andor started the slowest that I gave up on it after two episodes only to give it another chance about 9 months later. TBoBF was a chore until Din showed up. I think once Ahsoka gets to Ep 4-5, things will pick up like it did for Andor. We got 7 more episodes of this. I do believe Ahsoka started better and faster than Obi-Wan and Andor did. After two episodes so far, I might put Ahsoka above The Phantom Menace. I got it at 10th. I'm still not sure if I like it more than Obi-Wan which I found mid. I'm seeing the same mistakes with this that the previous SW series did but could trend up very quickly. Call it Ahsoka when it should be called Sabine. I do like Ahsoka Tano more than Rey Palpatine. The actress who portrays Sabine is beautiful. I think Daisy Ridley is beautiful too. I never saw the sequel to Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, so Natasha is still new to me. Beautiful actress but I'm just not sure if I'll care about Sabine by the end of this series as it seems like it's her hero (or heroine) journey and redemption arc and not from the titular character. It is cool that Ahsoka trained a Mandalorian to become a Jedi. That's new to me. You can already see the major crossover between the two shows is imminent. My favorite female character from The Mandalorian remains The Armorer but I do like Bo-Katan and didn't mind S3 centered around her. Reason why I like Shin Hati the most so far other than Ahsoka is because I finally see a deranged and *eager* female badass that I've never seen before in live-action SW form. She's kinda like a female version of Darth Maul but I also like that she asks questions. If you see other photos of Ivanna, she does give that same stare like she does in Ahsoka. Dollface and robotic like M3GHAN. Wide-eyed. Doesn't blink much. Ready to kill on the spot. I believe Shin Hati doesn't seem to trust Morgan Elsbeth and will later kill her master, Baylan Skoll, after a failed attempt at killing Morgan and the fact the actor for Baylan already died. She looks like she's holding a secret. But I don't necessarily see her turning good. She might have an ax to grind with the Nightsisters or just seeking for more power like Anakin did. There's a theory on Reddit that Shin could also be Mandalorian? Let's not forget, Sith apprentices kills their masters all the time in attempt for more power. Vader wanted to do it with Luke by the end of Empire. Shin could've beheaded Sabine right after she stabbed her through her stomach. 1. The Empire Strikes Back 2. The Mandalorian 3. Revenge Of The Sith 4. A New Hope 5. Return Of The Jedi 6. Andor 7. Rogue One 8. The Force Awakens 9. Obi-Wan Kenobi 10. Ahsoka (tentative, can move up next week) 11. The Phantom Menace 12. The Rise Of Skywalker 13. The Last Jedi 14. The Book Of Boba Fett 15. Attack Of The Clones 16. Solo RIP Ray Stevenson (Baylan Skoll)
Imagine how many of the Jedi younglings survived after Anakin "Killed" them. He could have stab them all through the stomach and they could still be alive. Imagine Disney reading this comment Lmao

Yeah, my immediate reaction was "Ok. Clearly he's never watched Rebels.. Cus Chop is a mass murderer." Also there were quite a few deaths in Rebels, not counting Choppers mass-murdering ways.

Did anyone else think that star map reminded them of Treasure Planet? Maybe they'll run into John Silver in the new galaxy. XD
2:05 starts off with the dark Jedi being invited onboard which was stupid and the Captain brings six lightweight security officers just in case something goes wrong. Why not just hand over the keys to the ship and throw himself out to the vacuum of space as well?
Was some serious tension between Alex & Joe in this episode 😅
Cause Alex wants everyone to be as miserable as him. 😂
@@watchmesquatchNah more like AJ not letting anyone speak and trying to override everyone’s opinions.

AJ was extremely defensive and it kinda made this review unbearable. It's fine to disagree, but then they start arguing semantics over what's considered a "kids show" and even tries to take a swing a Luke in the original trilogy.
This does feel kinda sith dagger/map to skywalker/map to palpatine type plot device stuff....

But if you want to argue about that, rebels was 9 years ago, she should jot be acting like a child now

Chopper: Say what bro?
I'm sort of conflicted because on one hand I'm happy to see Thrawn in live action, but It feels weird having read the Heir to the Empire trilogy (amazing btw). It's still early so I don't want to write it off, but I cant help but feel they are going to attempt a bastardized version of his character and that overall story here.
Im with Alex 100%
AJ needs to put his fanboy aside and review this show for what it is.
Believe me I loved Clone Wars and Ashoka. This is not the storytelling I love, and it's important to recognize that.
Good StarWars is back? huh ... where is it? Is it hiding behind Ahsoka? Is that good StarWars with us in the room right now?
Comparing it to Andor and the good Mandalorian parts hurt my sould lol.
Yeah ,this is why Alex needs his own channel. I’m really only here for him and OJ at this point
You’re not special for saying that if people like Alex more Alex would do his own channel but most people like the trio and if it weren’t for Angry Joe you would’ve never seen Alex.
Is it just me or does Ashoka fold her arms a lot? Like, I can't unsee it, she does it all the time.
Now that you mention it, after watching the first episode, I agree. Makes her look close minded/arrogant.
The only good parts of rebels is when old characters show, vader, ahsokha, maul etc. The crew is horrible
It’s 3d rate SW. Noone cares about these chars except Ahsoka and Thrawn.
Surviving stabs isn’t new. Maul, Boba, Anakin, Kenobi. Qui Gon was the exception because he wanted to become a force ghost and let go of life
You’re acting like star wars characters haven’t survived lightsabers stabs before. Lol
@@steveno7058 Maul and Anakin was not stabbed, they were sliced in half. Kenobi got stabbed in his arms and legs, not torso and/or stomach area.
@@awhbr1 the show straight up says she has a low aptitude. Also lightsabers are extremely dangerous for non-jedi to use. The force is pretty much the training wheels that stops them from accidentally lopping off a limb.
@@jonasnee low aptitude basically means no force power. Remember: every living being is connected to the force. Everyone has at least some aptitude with the force
Episode 1 was weak for me. Everyone seemed idiotic and I agree with Alex, Sabine in episode 1 was wholly unlikable. Thankfully it got better, but its a tired trope. Episode 2 was better and renewed my interest in the show going forward. I do have to say I agree with Alex again with the lightsaber stuff, enough with people living through major lightsaber wounds.
The strange choice to have long pauses after every line of dialog put me off. Everything else I enjoyed quite a bit.
Literally the long pauses, the slow, almost disengaging responses, and the slow movements. Felt like they were just trying to drag the runtime
@@JocaWarsit confuses the low IQ fans into thinking the dialogue is weighty and full of meaning
@@Peer165it’s clearly a homage to special ed types
@@Peer165 I don't agree with your assessment. Kurosawa used closeups and well framed shots allowing us to SEE those small gestures and composition that made the silence enjoyable to watch. Alex needs his own show
Yeah I would prefer that too. He gets so little time to speak and when he does he's constantly interrupted to the point where he just has to keep talking and hope he can get some kind of point across while AJ is talking over him

Why does Disney insist that you can just take a Lightsaber to the gut and walk it off first obi Wan and now ahsoka I remember back in the day if you got hit by a lightsaber you would either die or lose a limb
Why doesn't Joe pay attention to his friend's responses?
Alex, it's true Rebels is catered to kids but as seasons progress, especially season 3, there are some dark themes and more killings. It gets deeper. I would search online and look up the important non-filler episodes. The more you learn about Kanan, the more you will appreciate the show.
If you're not enjoying something from the beginning it's unlikely you'll be willing to slog through entire seasons just to get to "the good part"
True but still too much filler episodes where nothing interesting happens
@@wlot28that’s true, but the counter point is that in doing so you never give a show a chance to improve

It’s so irritating 😂 it’s like a little boy who can’t help themselves.
Right, like what is the point of having these discussions when only Angry Joe's score counts. He has them on cuz they are friends but he talks over them all the time and never lets their words influence his feelings good or bad... it's pointless.
So, I gave it a chance…My god, how much can the bar be lowered for this type of ish to be considered good?
Till you can’t limbo any further
Just finished episode 1, the fact that Joe was confused that people thought she was unlikable is a testament to how hard he's fanboying. She wasn't just a rebel, she was bratty and selfish, which then resulted in problems for other people. That's not how you do rebellious, but likable.
Why is AJ so offended when they disagree with him? I think a lot of people didn't care for rebels
Because Alex said he didn't watch it but because they don't kill anyone in season 1 it's for kids
Most people will be like, “who the heck is this blue guy?!”
And come on man. You can’t get impaled through the middle with a lightsaber and be okay. Stop that sh*t.
But I’ll see it through. It could yet be an excellent show.

@@jayc5555 Facts.
This was easily a great 8.5/10 start for me, and I can't wait to see whether they are going with the other galaxy, etc (unlike, say, Andor where we knew 100% where it was going to end up, but it was more about the journey and how they told it)
I’m genuinely shocked anybody thought this was good Star Wars.
Someone was stabbed through the chest with a lightsaber.. and lived. Must be Tuesday.
"It's a crown."
Mary Elizabeth Winstead getting a Star Wars role thanks to being married to Prequel Obi-Wan in real life.

Ahsoka was born in 36 BBY.

Disney sabers must be garbage because they can’t kill anyone! 🤷🏾♂️
I guess no one’s ever really gone anyways so there’s that! 🙅🏾♂️🙅🏾♂️
Only 2 episodes Joe lets wait and see
10:23 Joe forgetting that all media is subjective 😮💨
Imagine how many of the Jedi younglings survived after Anakin "Killed" them. He could have stab them all through the stomach and they could still be alive. Imagine Disney reading this comment Lmao
Seeing Joe get defensive over rebels is hilarious
Let me guess? Joe kind of like it.
Shocking I know
Why the Sarcasm? Dude dislikes plenty of things
You can easily tell by the thumbnail, he rarely makes a thumbnail of his face reaction to go against it in teh actual review
😂 You can instantly tell how Alex feels it's hilarious
Man. I'm truly happy for the people that are still interested in Star Wars but I just can't. Disney has ran it and Marvel into the earth's friggin crust.
I have zero interest in anything they do. Sad.
Man, the dude on the right must be getting paid by disney or something. When he said "Rebels is not a kids show" and tried to defend ezra as a character he lost all credibility in my eyes. No offense though- I just can't watch anymore.
