The insurance industry is just a legalized version of the protection racket.
If people created a savings account and label in insurance they would be way better off. I read that the AI bot has a 90% denial rate for legit medicare claims now. In my experience the insurance companies deny as their first protocol and see what the client will do to proceed. I am quite sure there is a good percentage of clients that go away.
Insurance is organized crime
Especially in Louisiana, it's the wild wild West here and the commissioner of insurance in this state does absolutely nothing but coddle them and help them break laws.
Timothy, Mathew and Daniel couldn't survive the Jesus trades so they resorted to killing the men for a paycheck from Elon
Varies from state to state. In states where vehicle liability insurance is not mandatory, the prices are lower and more people have it. Because more people have it, the cost is reduced because there are fewer uninsured motorists to collide with. Mandating insurance just means higher premiums because you have no choice but to pay it, more people can't afford it, raising the cost in case you are hit by one of them. As usual, government does the opposite of what they intended (unless they intended to pad the profits of insurance companies). It's always better if they answer to the consumer than to a politician.
“like a good neighbor, we’ll see you in court.”
😂😂😂😂😂
Hilarious comment!!
Nyuk nyuk nyuk. Bring back Perry Mason.
"Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there". That slogan is a flat out lie.
They need to change it to, "Like a thief in the night, State Farm is there".
Genius
BUT WHY DOES IT TAKE NEWS ORGANIZATIONS TO STEP IN FOR COMPANIES TO DO THEIR RIGHT THING!!
They are exposed and will loose future business.
Very few humans behave ethically unless they know they're being observed. Sadly, what they don't realize is that they've ALWAYS been monitored. But if they can't detect it, then they excuse themselves to act however they please. That's just how humanity rolls.
State farm is the worst insurance company. 🤬
It’s because they are corrupt 🤔😳😔
There's always a face that denies claims, they should be personally responsible for explaining why in court not multi millionaire lawyers.
All the MILLIONS spent on advertising wiped out over just a couple of thousand dollars. GOOD JOB STATE FARM
State farm sucks very bad. They never approve any claim.
Yep. I won't use them.
I know two of their local agents
Told them sick of mahomes, mahauto, and Jake
Won’t use them. lol
We had a State Farm agent on our city council who repeatedly advocated running over protesters. He's still a state farm agent in our town. Curiously, he doesn't sell policies protecting clients from going to prison for driving over other human beings. I've called and asked for one several times just to be a troll.
We just left State Farm - they will do anything to get out of paying a claim “like a good neighbor” what a joke.
It's okay for you to pay them but it's not okay when you claim it
😭😭
That the same with every Insurance company! Home, auto, life they never want to pay out.
@@rimc4378 cause insurance is a scam
Yeah I asked about their policy on lowering my rates after like, 6 months or a year accident free, the clerk actually giggled and said "No no no, that is not how it works. You build a relationship with our company over time, and over time you can be allowed to select a higher payment and deductibe. I told them to go jump in a lake and stayed with Progressive who not only did NOT raise my rates, but lowered them after a year accident free.
And if you refuse to get insurance at all, you get punished by others that demand a premium of their own.
The Insurance business is the only business where the premise of the sale is if anything happens we’ll take care of it. Then when it does happen, you are transferred to a person whose entire job is to pay you as little as possible for your unfortunate situation !!!!
Ie legal Frauds 😢
Biggest ponzi scheme
😭😭😭
Yeah what’s the deal. They say they’ll cover you but then they don’t when it actually happens 😂.
A for-profit insurance company's motive is to **never** pay out. On the flip side, the tension between the company and a claimant does help tamp down insurance fraud, which would be rife without such tension. Having an advocate for claimants available free of charge (e.g. from a government insurance commissioner) is a decent way to balance the power between insurance companies and claimants when a legitimate claim is denied.
How horrible to make her go through that and only do the right thing when the news steps in. Shame on State Farm.
State farm is always the hardest to file a claim
They are! I know situations of fire damage and they'd deny or offer a ridiculously low payout that no where near covered the damage. . It took some 2 years and lawsuits to get the claim settled.
@@cardinal8268Yes, this happens often with State Farm in particular. Even well known individuals like Shannen Doherty have recently taken them to court and won with respect to fire & smoke damage from the California fires. I myself had a claim that took 2 years to resolve.
What insurance company would be better?
They all hate paying on claims. Insurance is a scam.
@@H_H_____I have Geico, 30 years, so far good. A lady made a left turn in front of me in July- totaled my car, 5 hospital visits etc, the lady that caused the accident has SF, my doctor said get a lawyer SF never wants to pay .. my lawyer submitted my case to SF in December, we’re still waiting to hear from them
State Farm denied coverage on a loss because they claimed the tree (that fell) was not planted correctly 23 years earlier (before we bought the property).
Wow. Unbelievable. You should sue. They should've inspected it prior to accepting your monies. You should at least get every penny you paid, back.
Did you fight back ? Contact the local news
So what was the final outcome? Did you push back and fight the denial? Did you sue them?
@@Milesco The damage was under $5k (deductible was $1k) - so 5 days after the denial letter we moved our personal and company Insurance (Around $68k a year) to another firm - stopped in and requested a $14k refund of prepaid premiums (which I got after about 20 unanswered call from the agents supervisor).
@@danielweston9188 Right on! Glad to hear it. 👍😊
On the other hand, the amount of auto insurance I’ve paid over 20 years on my car, I could had bought it twice over already. Insurance has gotten out of hand and the greed is real. Paying for something that you may never use for a peace of mind?
A vehicle I owned was hit so severely while being parked in a lot, the ins co “totaled” it and sent me a check two days later. Yes, we rarely use it but when you need it, it’s absolutely worth it.
Paying car insurance just as you throw your hard earned money to the window and it drops right into greedy insurance companies pockets.
Because no matter at fault or not, when you have the accident and claim, your premium WILL go up.
That's why I shop and have lowest insurance. I don't care if it's not a _"brand name"_ insurance companies, never seen its commercial ads on tv
Car insurance doesn’t even need to cover your own car. You can get liability only which is the part you haven’t payed twice over. What if the car you hit is worth $85,000 and then you and everyone else’s medical bills totaled $120,000. If you’ve payed over $200,00 in car insurance, you are doing something wrong.
@@philiplubduck6107depends on who's at fault and if the other person has insurance.
Most likely, everyone who pays auto insurance is paying for something that is depreciating so fast that it doesn't make sense to even keep "collision" unless they're taking some massive auto loan on it.
Pam: I need to file a claim to replace all the items covered in my dead husband’s blood.
SF: Girl please, go get you some bleach and wipe that stuff off 😳
SF forgot Pam survived a violent knife attack by a deranged killer. She’s clearly a fighter. Glad she didn’t back down.
They thought she was gonna back down from them when she survived a knife attack from a murderer! They obviously hadn’t met Pam!
The business world is morally bankrupt. I am ever so happy for Pam, and well done to her for standing up to them. I wish her all the best ❤❤❤
I grew up with mom and pop businesses ( they lived in the same town as you) . Then little by little corporations started moving in by paying off ( lobbyists) the government and dealing with China ( cheap human slavery) . As a business owner I have to be business smart, BUT also have a customer's heart and mind = good customer service by working with the customer ( that doesn't mean that the customer will get his way all the time) . My goal is to have you the customer for life. Even with ' employees ' . No employees BUT contractors that will work on commission NOT hourly rate, this will separate the wheat from the chaff ( you don't work, you don't get paid) ‼️
Capitalism is nearing an end game imo. Too many bad players abusing and exploiting systems. Greed and corruption is rampant at all levels. How can it be fixed without destroying everything, I have no idea.
The business world will always be morally bankrupt. For them it’s solely about the money - and appeasing their shareholders and Wall Street.
The lesson here is that State Farm is the kind of neighbor you don't want around!!!
should change their slogan to a "bad neighbor!" They seem very nasty indeed.
Exactly 💯
We got hit by a State Farm client. Horrible experience. Had to threaten to get a lawyer in order to get costs paid
State Farm 😂
My father-in-law was killed in a natural gas explosion that leveled his 3/2 home. Instead of just paying out as a total loss from the start, State Farm required us to fill out a detailed inventory of every. single. item. that had been damaged/lost. Could you remember a relative's every single possession from memory? We were grieving, had other family members who survived with serious burns to care for, & had to struggle with that as well. In the end they did pay out the max, but we will never do business with State Farm again.
Its a good idea to take pictures of the entire house, to include inside drawers closets storage areas and give a copy to a releative or trusted friend, That is what I have done.
But I do agree insurance company does make uou jump through hoops...
My twin brothers are General Contractors & deal with claims.....They always say State Farm is the worse company to deal with for the homeowners!!
Property Brothers!
Allstate is worse.
'State Farm' is most likely the very worst insurance company out there. Drop them _today._
State Farm huh? I’ll remember that
Awful. They are the worst
At this point everyone should just drop their insurance and take a chance
I live by their HQ in Bloomington, Il. and employees of SF don't use their insurance.
I remember my Dad having issues with State Farm back in the 80s denying a claim on our car insurance after being a customer for 20+ years. I have avoided them ever since.
Ive heard enough about State Farm being this way...I use them myself for my renters insurance but Im shopping for a different company because at this point I dont trust them to have my back if something happens.
State Farm denying her claim is awful, the crime committed against her and her husband was horrific but I can't get over that it's worse that the crime was committed by their own family member.😨😢
Shameful Insurance Service in your company
Yep. My dad died on the operating table while getting a pacemaker and a bypass. The insurance wouldn’t cover the $150k bill. Saying because he died, they didn’t have to pay. WTF? Mom fought back and got them to pay it. I think they just knee jerk refuse everything just to see who will settle for it. On paper, it probably makes their bottom line better. Yeah, I’m all for removing insurance from the private sector.
Go to an independent agent. They represent more than one company.
State farm has issues, perhaps they shouldn't piss on their neighbors doorstep..ive had my issues with them as well, definitely lost my business.
Its all insurance companies. My husband got into a no fault accident, and the insurance company refuses to pay the whole car loan
In Georgia, they changed a law and now they find each driver guilty even when it isn't your fault. They make both drivers pay. Georgia is also very high on all sorts of crimes. So you can bet that something is crooked.
@@H_H_____That's just despicable.
My wife and I found out the hard way no fault is your fault.
They try and sell you gap insurance so they can make more money on you then still deny the claim! Always call your lawyer first then the insurance company! My son got hit by a old lady and they had the nerve to want to raise his rates a hundred dollars a month when it wasn’t even his fault. Crooks the whole bunch of them!
Not the car insurance fault if you owe more than a car is worth.
I'm happy this case worked out for the woman after losing her husband.. Remember compassion is one of the gifts of the spirit..
State Farm is overpriced. I ran back to Progressive when they offered me the same exact coverage for what State Farm charged us for one of our fully covered vehicles. No accidents or moving violation, and almost $400 a vehicle is ridiculous.
Well, ☺️ hope you never actually need progressive because they definitely aren't going to pay you.
They forged my signature and policy before suing me to deny coverage
My sister in Law was paying them little more than $600 a month for car insurance for 1 car which made me sick i pay that much for 2 cars total in 6 months (military brat USAA is amazing)
I had to drop State Farm during a situation where a theft broke into my car, a window was broken, and when I called them. They keep saying wait, then I don’t have anything to go to work. When I fixed it with some shop close by, they denied coverage. State Farm is the worst. I drop them, bought a new house, got better coverage for house and cars less than what I paid them. Never again I will go back to State Farm. Done deal, lesson learn
No one should have to “fight” for what they pay for. These damn companies never do what is right until they are placed under the spotlight and their reputations are on the line.
State farm took my money for car insurance then dropped me within a week. This was years ago. They stated I was too young for their insurance. I will never use them again.
State Farm has never been like a good neighbor. One of the worst insurance companies out there.
Condolences to Pam...after what she went through, this took the cake...glad it worked out, and great info for us all.
I know someone going through the same thing after a fire was started by a third party to which the husband loss his wife and his daughter lost her mother. It is disgusting to withhold funds to replace or fix damage caused by a third party.
Blame the justice system for letting crimes take over the street! The more CRIMES happen, the more CASES gonna be denied, insurances will NOT increase the payout fund already alloted, they'd rather pocket a bunch of money then declare company's bankruptcy!
It figures the insurance company would be State Farm. They're notorious for this kind of thing.
THE INSURANCE COMPANY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN!!
DENIED??
Statefarm, not suprise... they already pulled out of California housemarket insurance coverage as Statefarm stated “It’s necessary to take these actions now to improve the company’s financial strength.” 🤔
I don’t blame them for pulling out of ca…have you seen those millions of dollars sliding into the ocean and rivers from people building on the edge of unstable footing???
The insurance company denied a traumatized surviving widow $190 ??? Did I hear that right???
That is so disgusting. I will be dropping State Farm as my insurance. They are despicable.
It's hard to believe that the insurance company denied this claim. Her figures seem to be very reasonable (2:09 of the video). A mattress for $600. Queen size sheets $40.
It’s because the policy she chose only covers specific risks. The company ended up paying because of the bad press, not because the policy actually covers what happened.
@@bikeguyhd1035 How would you know? I deal with tenant and condo insurance policies all the time. Generally speaking, damages are covered beyond the deductible unless there is an exclusion (like flood insurance).
@@pointreyes4272 the news story said it was a “named perils” policy. That said, insurance is supposed to look at the first thing that occurred in the loss. If that first act (theft, malicious mischief etc) is covered, then all the ensuing damages should be too. It seems here they tried to change the peril when it came to the blood, and I do not believe that is correct procedure.
The insurance company would be obligated to pay this claim unless there was an exclusion like flooding, mold, etc. It's possible that she had a high deductible tough. I look at policies from various companies and have never seen this. This would be considered bad faith in almost all states except for the deep south.
Im not calling for a car quote , after seeing this story
Me either
Smart. They are awful
Imagine living through a brutal attack and losing your beloved. Then, having to fight again for what you're insured for. Insurance companies are taught to deny, deny, deny. Most people will give up. Most people are already so worn down from the trauma that they just let it go. I interviewed with them in my 20. 's. Guess I wasn't evil enough. Whew. Condolences for this lady.
just sickening what happened to her and her husband and then to have to beg for help from these Insurance losers. Outrageous. Be warned everyone.
shesh, I will never give State Farm my business in the future. I was just in their office to get bundled insurance.
The fine print in many life insurance policies states that if the person died even in a train or plane crash insurance will be denied.
Crazy, because the total wasn't even that high for a claim.
All these insurance companies are rip offs.
Sad to see State Farm is STILL screwing people over. My grandmothers car was totaled in the 90's they gave her $150 for her car, claiming deductions for items that were NEVER on that model vehicle.
My husband is an insurance adjuster, state farm is the worst to get your money from! I will never insure with state farm
I'm so so sorry to her husband, pam, and their entire family. I can't even fathom the horror and unbearable grief of losing your husband in that way and for state farm to deny her claim is absolutely disgusting! It's gross that it took the news to get involved for them to do the right thing. Unacceptable!!
Thank you for helping.
I hope her husband had a big life insurance policy. State Farm is disgusting. And the property she was asking for was minimal but aside from that I hope her husband had a big life insurance policy.
This is why I lock my bedroom door. I don't want to get caught by surprise.
Adam Garrett Roring was indicted by a Hennepin County grand jury on two counts of first-degree murder in the death of 74-year-old Mark Novak of Bloomington. Roring was also indicted for second-degree. Adam is the nephew , apparently had a house key.
The biggest problem is how much power insurance companies have just to deny payments.
Motive's unclear? That's hilarious. Pretty safe to say that family member wanted their inheritance now, rather than later
We need a Dateline episode.
This is just outrageous.
You folks don’t know about State Farm? Their entire business plan is to get those premiums, not actually pay for damages. I lost my home to a devastating fire. It got ugly.
It’s always State Farm denying, my grandfather told me nearly fifty years ago to avoid them after he fought them back in the day
That's absurd. Things like this are why I don't use State Farm for my ins. I use AAA.
"Like A Good Neighbor...Stay Over There!!!"- State Farm
My heart goes out to this woman, and I'm sorry for her loss. I hate that she had to go through this. As a policy holder, it is very important to read over your policy and be aware of your coverages and coverage limits. If you don't understand or if you have questions schedule an appointment to speak with your agent to go over your coverages. Don't ever assume. You can always make adjustments to your policy. Insurance does work when you suffer a loss. Again know what is covered and add additional coverage if you need to.
True but State Farm is terrible. Their client rear ended my husband. 100% his fault. Hubby had a mid sized SUV and they tried to give him a dodge neon rental car. They were supposed to provide a like vehicle. I called the ##$& agent up and said, you know if my husband had been rear ended that hard (air bags deployed) by a large truck in a dodge neon he would be in the hospital right now. Right now his neck seems to be okay but you know those whiplash injuries can show up a couple weeks later. We would hate to have to need a lawyer but maybe I should get one just in case. He said please don’t do anything I will call you back. 20 minutes later hubby was driving a very large sedan. Never use State Farm
State Farm... never again.
So much for being a "good neighbor"...
Even before she mentioned State Farm, I already knew it was them. They don’t like to pay out anybody their track record is very bad. I’ve seen RUclips videos after RUclips videos of them refusing to pay out any insurance claims for people. There was one video on RUclips I seen a while back where a guy had been paying State Farm insurance for 30 years on his house . When his house became flooded after a storm, State Farm insurance refused to pay out even though this man had been paying State Farm for 30 some years.
You have to be in a flood plane area. Learned that the hard way (Farm Bureau). Of course two years later it was declared a flood plane.
@@Kinikia95Flood plain. Flood insurance is separate and you have to go thru FEMA.
$190. Great job State Farm 🤦🏻♀️🙄
Not a "Good Neighbor". Only interested in keeping premiums and denying claims until the media picks up on it.
I will never do business with State Farm. This isn't the first horrible story I've seen or heard about them.
Money doesn't bring back her husband or heal her heart. State farm should be penalized by paying triple amount of money and someone gets fired ‼️
I work for an insurance company. In particular a home insurance company. Maybe blood isn’t covered as an “insured peril” but I believe being bludgeoned and then muttered in bed would be.
Talk about a poor excuse for a denial
State Farm is going to cower away from this
I had to fight the insurance company for my mom. She paid for a small policy for my Grandmother $10K-she passed away in 2021. My grandmother put my mom’s maiden name on the policy-honest mistake…they refused to pay my mom. I told them to just give her all of her premiums back a little over $11K…they sent the check the next day.
As a customer of State Farm for 30 years, this disappoints me! 😢
This article is scary. 😢😮
So, in conclusion, don't by insurance if you cant get a reporter or TV. station to air your claim.
State farm should be shunned!
This is the importance of understanding your insurance policy and getting a good agent. A named peril policy only covers what’s NOT excluded under the policy jacket.
Open peril policy would have covered this, but State Farm is stupid for not just paying the claim. They’re going to lose more money in terrible optics.
No one here understands this. Named peril policies have lower premiums. The company here ended up paying because of the bad press, not because the policy actually covered what happened.
@@bikeguyhd1035 Correct... but tbh they should have paid it before the press came out and penalized the agent that wrote the policy in the first place if he was found to have done it in bad faith.
@@plsrng7204 many companies will just go against the policy contract and pay for these one off claims to avoid bad press. Even though the policy doesn’t cover it.
Ive been hearing very bad things about State Farm recently, such as routinely denying claims and forcing the policy owner to sue them to get a settlement. Who wants that?
Statefarm needs to be investigating
State Farm: Like a good neighbor, leave us alone.
State Farm thought she was gonna back down from them when she survived a knife attack from a murderer! They obviously hadn’t met Pam!
I wouldn't have assumed that state farm would pay anything
This incident, claim submitted, claim denial, and outcome should be forced by Court Order to be offered to every State Farm Policy Holder and prospective customer. The absolute stupidity and irrationality of the denial should have consequences.
Kind of off topic.
I was a State Farm customer for 20+ years.
For the most part, there was little to no issues up until 2021.
They started to overcharge me and wanted me the victim to pay a deductible.
The past 3 or so months was the last straw for me.
3 months ago, they raised my monthly premiums.
I ended up pausing my coverage for 4 weeks because my car was undriveable for 6 months.
After I unpaused the coverage, they again raised my monthly premium.
In the last 3 months, they raised my premiums by 50+ percent.
I canceled my account and got new insurance the day before my bill was due.
1 more thing, I tried to deposit a refund check they sent me. The bank accepted it at 1st and then canceled it and charge me a fee for the State Farm check.
I really dislike State Farm Insurance. We have home insurance and they wouldn't cover damage from a broken water pipe from the bathroom.
If I was a marketing/advertising director for any other insurance company the details of this story would be prominently featured in a string of national ad campaigns.
(Though really if they all started parading around each others dirt they might ALL have to start paying claims.....and none of them want that.)
Dealing with State Farm now because of an accident with one of their customers. Hired a lawyer yesterday.
State Farm should never be allowed to write policies anymore! Never did think they were an upstanding firm! This just proves it!
State Farm should have to reimburse this poor woman’s attorney fees!
Now her insurance is attacking her DISGUSTING
Americans are forced to pay for insurance and often receive little help when services are needed. Boycott state farm insurance.
The State AG should be taking care of this ,not protecting the corporations .
Adding insult to insurance. No words.
I will NEVER use State Farm for Homeowners after seeing this.
This is the reason I lock my bedroom door and have a security system.
Hire a lawyer, that’ll cost you more than the property.
I worked for an ins. corp. for 15 yrs. They're not in the business of paying on claims. They're here to make money for their shareholders. Period.
Don't ever assume any insurance will pay out. They will deny whatever they can.
Before it was confirmed, I KNEW it was State Farm!
I’d hate to see what State Farm woulda done if they had his life insurance policy.
Sue the hell out of them.
Back in the day I was looking up reviews of different insurance companies and I could’ve sworn one said that State Farm had an adversarial relationship with their clients.
They even denied the claim of the cost of repairing the ring that was taken by having her husband's finger cut off! A lousy 30 bucks!
I have State Farm, this is alarming.
