I was there once. No kids were involved. I found out 4 months after marrying him he was plotting my demise for life insurance. He basically told on himself. Kept telling me “ if something happens to you I’ll take good care of the boys”. After I heard that about 5x I turned around and said “ what do you know that I don’t? You keep saying that. If you’ve double crossed me I’ll make you regret the day you met me.” I started digging into his past. Threw him out. State annulled the marriage. He had married me to get my life insurance and had his plan made. OBTW…… he manufactured antifreeze. 😬uh huh. God was protecting me from this monster until I figured him out.

Psychologists receive almost no education in recognizing personality disorders, and certainly no training or education on how to differentially diagnose or treat one. If psychologists with a PhD don't have that education, surely you can't expect the vast majority of the world to have that education or to know what to look for in people. That is a post-doc education in a highly specialized field that psychologists would have to spend more money and time to obtain.
Psychiatrists, after getting their medical degree, then complete a fellowship in psychiatry, and that is where they learn how to differentially diagnose and treat characterological disorders aka character disorders (as in disorders of moral character). Even they get tricked/duped by the most sociopathic and psychopathic of them.
When you have thousands and thousands of psychologists who have no training or education in this...excepting those who go into the specialized field of abnormal psychology...there is no way the average person is set up to succeed in this area. Some of these individuals are *very good at social masking* and the groom everyone around them first before they target & pray on those they perceive as weak/vulnerable.

A murdered spouse and suspicion of the husband being the killer and she not only continued to date him, she marries him.
Women say they are scared to go jogging. I’d be more scared of my brain’s selection process when it came to who is capable of hurting me.
