    I tested out of college and have a BA. I also have 4 FCC licenses that no longer seem good enough to get a job with, so I am here.

    Starting next week I will be studying for the MTA certification and the Java Oracle Programmer 1 certification and in the following weeks I will be learning how to develop apps on the Android OS; do you have any input, advice, job-related inquiries that you could potentially make into a video???

      @@Itcareerquestions you said dont waste your time. Well If you want to get technical I dont want to ever work but we have to. None of us would do any of this if we hit the lottery for 100 million dollars. So I'm saying no one truly wants to do this. The very few rare would want to still learn any Microsoft, comptia, or cisco certifications if they won the lottery. To say you truly love this your telling me you would still do it even after being that rich. Then it's not your true passion your doing it for a job too.

    Great video channel as always just one thing about education if people are going to do a bachelor's degree in it then it should be balanced equally with practical modules baked into it they are usually the best ones the ones that don't nowhere near as good. Having said all that even if you do plenty of practicals as part of a program which is a must that doesn't necessarily mean you're going to be able to do it straight away in the real world because systems and software are quite different in the way they are integrated and often caused problems that you may not realise.
    Me on the other hand I have both academics and practical experience from 3rd line second line and now cybersecurity and yes my qualifications did help somewhat especially in my current position within the infosec. Infosec they tend to want people with a relatively good College education maybe not so much in desktop support which can be just as challenging. At the end of the day experience experience sorry for babbling

    What is IT? Is it service desk? Is is desktop support? Windows/Mac/Linux? Server? Desktop? Support? Managed environment? Networking? Active directory? Cloud AWS Azure? Programming? Dev Ops?
    IT is not a job or even career. It is a vocation and a lifestyle.

    Nice work on this one Zach and Chris! Next time, PLEASE toss me in via Hangouts or SKYPE...LOL! Seriously, I'd say one of the most important things you should know before getting into IT is that it's a field that constantly changes which requires you to constantly continue learning as technology evolves. If your someone who does not adapt well to change (often change at that), then this may not be the field to you. You can NEVER know enough and WILL NEVER know enough in I.T.

    Love the video i have recently graduated with a degree but i found it no where near as useful as actually encountering problems and learning to fix them thats how got into it :D can be as simple as a friend or family member saying they have a problem. google really helps as well of course haha

    • @Itcareerquestions
      @Itcareerquestions  8 лет назад

      +Eoin Marwick Thank you! Yeah that is definitely so true. There's only so much you can learn in school until you get into the real world job life. Google is great!
