      Not with that attitude, practice makes the master, not the other way around.
      You think this person did it only when they were in the mood and wanted to relax? It's a everyday battle against your own commodity and mood to achieve progress, it all begins with self discipline 🙏🏻.
      Now go and believe in yourself, cause nobody else will do it for you.

      I like his work, he´s putting in a lot of effort and my following comment isnt meant to question his abilities. But what many people dont understand is that sculpting with reference is really not that hard. Its just tedious. If you put in enough time and you learned the basics of sculpting, you will get there. Just keep going! :)

    • @GreenMareep
      @GreenMareep 9 месяцев назад +10

      @@yesyes-om1po With some experience in a similar area, yes. Like Some background in character design and illustration maybe. With some experimentation with the software first as well. But without any previous knowledge? Months if you really pushed it without a fulltime job or any other liabilities. Without the experience in lighting and staging at the end as well.
      But it doesn't take 10 years either. Depends how actively engage in practicing on a very regular basis and whether it's structured and includes any mentoring or atleast some peers to get feedback and guidance with as well.

      The tools are now the same in both blender and zbrush. You called it complex, yes for the artistic side and anatomy knowledge but the technical side is quite simple.
      Now you will need zbrush only if you need to sculpt detail with high density of poly and maybe layers and posing high poly. Not the case with a cartoon character.
      The polygroup and masking workflow are still way better in zbrush though. Can't wait for blender to go deeper with it, they only scratch the surface of possibilities that they offer

      You're right that it can handle basically all those operations. It's certainly possible that I'm missing something, but my experience has been that it never gets quite that smooth. Mel was easily my favorite character at least in terms of her design (her personality was fun and interesting too but the big dumb tomboy/femmbo/Cassanova thing Vi had going on takes the cake in that department lol 😅). But Mel's aesthetic, her poise, her jewellery, her everything made for easily the most beautiful character I had ever seen in animated form. Like most characters I'd seen are *pretty*, but I cant name one that even comes close to Mel's excellent design.
    And this sculpt absolutely did her all the justice in the world. Very well done!
