What I love about Celine is she sounds the same live as on her records. She doesn't get all interpretative. If it sold on record why wouldn't it sell live. She's the best live performer, hands down.
Without saying you're wrong 'cause you're obviously not wrong, and without saying what you're stating is an artistic flaw of her 'cause obviously it's not an artistic flaw of her, I'd say that this is why albums and live performances are made for : to allow the artist to propose a newer version, a more lively version, a more adapted version to his today's thoughts, than the one he once sold, years back, on his album. Otherwise, you can ask yourself two questions : 1/ didn't the artist evolved and sees the life through his songs differently ? 2/ is he really interpreting or just being technical ? Of course, the answers are up to you. Nevertheless, if by "she sounds the same live as on her records" you mean she doesn't lose quality, compared to many singers whose voices are completely different live, for the bad, then yeah, I follow you ! Also, since this kind of song is not really open to the interpretation, in terms of note changing, because it's really composed (each note has its importance), compared to a rock/blues tune for instance, in which several notes can be switched and the song still look the same for the song originally was half composed/half improvised, I guess she's not to congratulate to keep the music score the same live and in studio : it'd be hard to do differently with this music setup, it's not jazz either. She'd sing it completely differently with a much smaller music background for example, like one acoustic guitar only.
