@@Dannymart_88445 There's definitely flaws with old COD games! The difference is they aren't game breaking flaws that you can work past
@@AscendARworld at war knifing was bad
im gonna go with support killstreaks in mw3, losing a moab becase of a random stealth bomber being called in by a random dude dying 20 times in a match its just depressive
The no skill multi kill was the worst 😭 How was it even considered a support streak 😂
@@AscendAR Infinity Ward is known for helping bad players, so maybe that was the reason 🤣
I still remember losing my Osprey gunner to an EMP.. and being unable to call in anything else cuz ground war was nothing but concurrent EMPs going off.
@@ricardoespinal8366 COD is the most casual gaming experience on the scene so they need to be able to appeal to every skill level.
You can't cry about skill based matchmaking and then complain when the bad players are killing you. Wanting to be able to have a game where you can chill with different load outs and friends and then groaning about the bad players contradicts what the video is saying.
@@Horible4 i strongly disagree with your statement, see, i do have a problem with stealth bomber the same way i have a problem with perks like juggernug or one man army, they are a burden to deal with, but its not like im going to completely hate the game because of them, whereas skill based matchmaking as an algorithmic system that it is, ruins the entire MP experience since it pretty much punish whoever wants to play the game and actually get better, the lobbies gets campier and slower as you play more, making the games repetitive and boring, makes the game feel shallow.
That being said, MW3 (2011) is my 3rd fav CoD ever, and as much as i can hate stealth bomber, it does not change the fact that i love the game or the memories that i made playing it, something that a SBMM CoD will never be able to do
Another horrible thing in OG MW3 was the EMP scorestreak. Basically the same thing as air patrol so u were never able to call in a killstreak after the halfway point of a match.
W killstreak
it only lasts a minute..
World at war zombies had a glitch where if it shut off your jugg if you got shocked by your own wonderwauffe, my only complaint about that game was the fact it had some bugs to it. Which honestly looking back? I’d deal with the bugs to have it back again and feel the same :(
also WAW zombies had Doubple Tap 1.0 which did nothing but waste your bullets
What are you talking about every cod player wants to be an ordinary soldier
Then explain why all the campaigns are like Michael bay movies making you extraordinary soldier 😂
@@AscendAR I'm talking about the multiplayer here the campaign is just the setting for the game we're playing
I want to be an ordinary solider in mp but i would love factions like sc and konni and if they would make the ordinary soloder thing and add characters like Velikan they would be special more health jugernaut force or graves would have better armory and mire tactical things
@@AscendAR cod 1 to 3 + WaW makes you play as an ordinary soldier in their campaign yet those are great campaign.
So i don't think that WW2 was wrong for going back to this idea and it goes with the theme of 2nd world war aside from this pinch of nostalgia for the begining of the cod series but i do agree that the launch game was bad.
Yet if i were to mention what i hate from ww2: those f-ing lootboxes and the awfully long and time limited challenges to unlock new weapons
@@AscendARIn World At War, you’re named Miller and Dimitri-basically Joe and Jack Soldier. Us hardcore campaign players eat that stuff up.
Feel like Advanced Warfare's should have been Supply drops being at its absolute worst because new players can get shredded by OP elite variants of guns they havent even obtained and may never get.
I think sledgehammer is so bad that bro forgot they even exist because he just legit said Infinity Ward is the worst
Nah sledgehammer is miles better than infinity ward. They actually listen to feedback.
BO4 not having a campaign and blaming Fortnite for it is CRAZY. No one forced them to compete with Fortnite lmao. They chose to challenge it on their own. No one to blame but the comoany itself.
What I meant by that is it wasn’t treyarch’s fault but Activision’s for making them compete with Fortnite
The problem in cod mobile is that in public and ranked Lobby you can play against bots
I swear everyone forgot that SBMM existed in AW, even I as a fucking 4th grader made an account on Xbox with the name "I Smurf on AW" so the SBMM will always be ingrained in my head 😭
Yeah it seems like most people think the first game to have strict SBMM was MW2019 (that is when it got re added but AW was the original 😂)
@@AscendARThis actually isn't accurate. AW did have strict SBMM, but we have evidence that SBMM hasn't been in CoD since BO4 at the latest. EOMM is something that exists either starting with or after BO4. EOMM standing for Engagement Optimized Matchmaking, which can be mistaken as Skill Based Matchmaking because of one of the things that EOMM does.
If you're wondering how it's mistaken in anyway here's why:
It takes into account performance against people you've previously played against
Does a win loss or draw make you most likely to quit (And if you're wondering you can manipulate this very easily)
What makes you quit a game
Etc. I don't want to list everything, but I think this gets the point across.
I didn't forget....I just didn't care lol. I used whatever weapon I wanted.
I wouldn’t have been surprised if you said sbmm for the last 3-5 years of games
I wanted to have different things for each game! But yes strict SBMM is the worst thing in Call of Duty
I’m shocked you didn’t say WAW was the hit detection 😂
I also love the background music for the BO1 segment; I loved the part for the Black Ops Faction spawn theme.
I actually liked Stonehaven from Gost; I don’t know if it was looks and the fact that I’m intrigued by medieval and other old time castles and architecture, but I liked it.
I couldn’t stand the attachment system in MW2 2022, thankfully you can at least unlock stuff through daily challenges.
I'm surprised lootboxes/supply drops and microtransactions weren't mentioned. Especially in Black Ops 3. They hid powerful dlc weapons in the supply drops so anyone willing to shell out extra money for them could get guns that were meta and have an advantage over other players. Same with the gobblegums too. Those took out all the skill in zombies entirely. Perkaholic, Near Death Experience, Reign Drops, etc just ruins the challenge of making it through to high rounds and doing Easter Eggs
Me and the boys got MW3 2023 when it came out but after a few weeks no one wanted to play with me cause they would go negative cause of my SBMM
BO3: The Campaign
BO4: No Campaign
😂
They fixed the campaign the wrong way 😂
"what is one thing about modern warfare 2019 you hate?"
"Safespaces."
For me, one of the worst things I can think of regarding Black Ops 1, is that a ton of smgs sounded like firecrackers, same with the AK47. The gun sound design was just blegh.
if bo4 blackout was free wouldn’t you need to pay a monthly subscription to even play online?
Ah, those memories on BO2 zombies will always make me love those maps. I really don't hate tranzit or die rise anyways as is. I still find them very fun and that's all I can ask for. They have gameplay styles very distinct from the rest of zombies which I what I like about them. Can always load up BO2 if you're tired of the more traditional maps. The bus and elevators make for a change in the formula. Especially with friends, the shit you could get up to, and the chaos we dealt with was just top tier comedy 😂
Personally I really enjoyed Tranzit! It just required you to have a full party of friends to be good
14:22 You're forgetting that the developers only had 16 months to work on the game, so it was due to the short time window Activision gave Sledgehammer rather than the devs being lazy.
And they couldn't really do anything so everything was half baked
The problem with OG MW2 was the fact that streak kills counted towards kill streak.
Call of duty tore apart their playerbase.
MW19 maps were lowkey big. Remember Euphrates Bridge 😂 Maps had so many hidey holes
Wow honestly cant believe someone else still remembers how strong and strict the sbmm was in advanced warfare
my problem with Vanguard was removing faction; its supposed to be a WW2 game with Axis vs Allies. They seriously tried to make the game safe for people who don't want to play as Nazis, but if you didn't want that, then don't make a WW2 game! As for me, I bought Vanguard BECAUSE its a WW2 game, and I wanted a WW2 game that felt like MW2019, but no factions (an no mil-sim operators) just ruined it for me... But it still felt good as a regular CoD game, and that's all I can say..
WW2 instinct was so annoying for me. I did not mind just having 1 perk but I always use mountain division for stealth abilitys bc I love using the knives. But there was no perk that counter instincts so whenever I go against someone with instincts I have to play with there high alert triggers until I get them activating high alert 8x to back stab then was a pain.
i hated the Famas in black ops 1!
that gun alone makes any noob a pro player!
the worst things about codm are:
Tencent (TIMI) involvement, as so, leading to some questionable skins.
The meta of chopper/vtol/sentry, which leads to some real struggles of grinding guns/camos.
unclear settings and, sometimes, localization issues.
Mw2 2009 is one of the rare cases where everything being op made it fun because no gun is bad if its op
Finally, someone mentioned COD 1-3 in a "every COD" video
Exactly how I feel
I'd personally say WW2 had a bigger problem of being broken on launch. The game itself played better than anything that came after it really.
@AscendAR to be fair the air patrol is basically a suped up SAM turret which was only around 2 or 3 kills in the older cods
I’m surprised that neither the removal of the prestige system or the incentive of a cosmetic store with $20-$30 bundles were on list but 5 cods have them so I’d place all that shit in warzone
I feel genuinely sorry for those who actually think that $20 is worth a fucking character skin (in a FIRST PERSON shooter), some cosmetic changes to a gun or 2, SOMETIMES a new takedown animation, and some pictures that you're only gonna see for a couple seconds at a time. Thats $5 at best.
Bro says “I only used final stand” but says hollow points is unfair. It’s literally more damage for _one kill_ and with how quick the time to kill was on mw3 you’d never notice.
The only correct deathstreak to use in mw3 was juiced, because it was the default one, same as copycat in mw2.
My personal list:
CoD4: 3 times nade
WaW: Tanks
MW2: Noobtubes
BO1: This game didnt really have a lot of annoying things to deal with, which is why is my fav CoD so im going with Ghost
MW3: Support Killstreaks (damn you random dude with the random stealth bomber)
BO2: Target finders
Ghosts: 10 awful maps on a 15 overall map selection
AW: Futuristic movement (nothing wrong with it, im just more of a classical CoD player)
BO3: Futuristic movement
IW: Futuristic Movement (a little overhated too)
WW2: Having to heal yourself
BO4: Specialists (also that goes for BO3 as an alternate)
MW19: SBMM introduction to the series, doors, mounting, camping being meta, safe spaces, restockable claymores, stupid skins, (MW19 is the CoD that i hate the most)
Cold War: SBMM (thank you MW19)
Vanguard: SBMM (thank you MW19)
MW22: SBMM (thank you MW19)
MW23: SBMM (thank you MW19)
Bo1 had a horrible lag compensation system, the ghost perk, last chance and SMGs feel like pea shooters
Not the mention they made the 1911 into an airsoft gun. A .45 ACP pistol with ridiculously low damage, even lower than the Makarov and other 9mm pistols. The 1911 should be second to the Python in terms of damage, and as a gun nut and 1911 lover, that is something I just can't get past. I'm glad they brought justice to the .45 acp in bo2 with the tac-45.
The safe spaces were not as bad in MW2019 as those spaces had 2 or more ways to enter, meanwhile in the OG CODs, a lot of the safe spaces had like a single entrance and were usually enclosed.
MW3's no skill multi kill 😭
Dude, SBMM has been around since CoD4, your blaming a game like 12 years later lmao
Worst thing about Ghosts, the campaign ending. I demand my $60 back for this.
What I think is the worst decision that Activision did was adding the battle pass to normal call of duty. I want supply drops back
What's wrong mp side after mw2019 is that score/killstreaks are one use per life giving no proper incentive to earn anything else besides xp which generally = nothing for people that have everything unlocked. No reseting after calling in the last streak is dumb as hell. Good players should be rewarded with calling in their streaks over and over. Especially for the supportive players. Uavs, counters, and advanceds. Being able to recall them after auav is done being active would bring so much joy. I literally force respawn. Not afraid to admit that.
CoD then: "The issues with the game are mostly balance related/lack of innovation"
CoD now: "The issue is the game itself. Why does anyone even play this crap anymore?"
Is it worth buying the new MW3 I’ve just been playing mw2 and still find games instantly I don’t see a point in spending an extra 100 on a game that’s the exact same just menus look different but if it worth it I’ll get it
Hard disagree with scorestreaks. I actually loved them because as you said, sometimes you just want to chill. It was one of the few decisions they made with that game that I actually liked. It was a good idea.
As for black ops 4, the negative could have been just, every thing. God that game was bad lol
Also hard disagree with MW3's open missions because cod's linear missions are usually butt any way. Less hand holding, less cinematic cliche interrupting the game, just let people play. If only it was any good lol
Black Ops II was something else man, I used to bash that shit endlessly with my brother
For mw3 the daily challenge unlock is so painful
As someone who only plays 1-2 hours on average per day it actually makes me unlock stuff faster than if I had to level up 😂 but yeah they should at least make it to where you can unlock things either by level up or daily challenges so everyone can unlock at a good pace
I need ghosts 2
I would love to see it as well!
If they launch ghosts 2 with a good multiplayer, people will go crazy
@@Bibyte yep, exactly. Multiplayer was the only weakest link imo for ghosts
ghosts is the best imho. I think developers went for more cinematic experience over realistic.
And make ghosts actually good this time
MW2 Devs: we’re gonna nerf tubes
Activision: but then I can’t get nukes?
Ghost pro was difficult to get though. If i remember correctly, you had to kill someone through a wall with a sniper rifle
I mean, you forgot about the healing system in bo4 which everyone hated.
Bo3 storymode is not that confusing. It's a black ops, so the story goes around mind control. In this case, there was a problem developed in the software, a glitch was born, and that glitch kinda came into like a AI virus that got into people mind software making them trying to find what he was while taking them to find the frozen forest.
Frozen forest was supposed to be a good software (like an app installed inside people's minds) which could take people to feel like they're in a calm place to relax their mind. Though there was a problem with that app and a glitch was born which was that entity AI making people too obsessed to find the frozen forest
Really makes me appreciate myself that I stopped around Infinite Warfare. But the last game I enjoyed was unironically ghosts because of some of the maps having breakable environment.
If cod Warzone mobile was In this I would say I wish they would’ve made it to we’re the data transfers over to youre console rather than it being an entirely new account
as someone who played CoD 1 (called CoD classic on PS3), i would probably say the worst part is the lack of regenerating health. it forces you to play so much more carefully than later CoD games, and reaching a checkpoint with low health and no nearby health packs was a death sentence. just playing greenhorn difficulty (this games version of recruit) was quite a challenge, and i could barely beat the game on regular. i might have been spoiled by later entries, but that still says quite a bit about how hard it is. should probably play it again when i have the chance, refresh my memory a little
honorable mention goes to the controls. there is no sprinting, and you have to manually select every weapon before you can use them (even grenades), which makes the gameplay feel a lot clunkier. however, that is only an honorable mention, because i have accepted that as part of the games identity, and i can appreciate some old school jank
Crazy thing about Ghost is if they just released the DLC maps as launch maps that game would’ve been perfect
I still think if you take away the "side" missions of Cold War, the CW campaign can be completed either just as fast or faster than MWIII
“area cl-“
downed enemy NPC with a pistol: 🔫😐
The only reason why I didn't get black ops 4 is because there was no campaign
I thought the mw2 gunsmith system was pretty nice because weapons did not take that long to level weapons to max anyways, plus it gave me an excuse to use all of the weapons
I will say, the biggest downside to Air Patrol was that it was countered by itself. If you called it in, all the enemy had to do was call their own in before yours took effect and no killstreaks from either team would be destroyed.
It was a very dirty streak, but it was also easily countered if both teams had at least one decent player with Air Patrol put on.
Everybody’s all hardy until the SR 71 blackbird gets called in😂😂😂❤❤❤❤
Indont really hate the idea of a counter scorestreak... but it was definitely WAY to easy to obtain air patrol
Agreed! It should’ve at minimum been way more score to earn
I always liked the MW3 support skillstreaks - I mean as I remember correctly you still needed more than 20 kills for the stealth bomber which was a lot
You could easily say "DLC Map Prices" for most of these. 15 dollars for like 2 maps, and if it's a game with zombies a single zombies map.
Bo3 campaign really confused me because it went from "hey taylor"to killing taylor and then after defeating covid"corvus" the main character turns into taulor.
the thing i did for coldwar was i call in a strafe run to bait the enemy team to use their air patrol and then i use my air patrol to destroy theirs then call in my chopper gunner😂
In mw2019 I never encountered safe spaces, then again I was lucky to have been invited to play with my cousins friend group who were having a fun time on gamemodes like tdm, and s&d, and had mixed experiences on the game, some were sweats, others were noobs or bad at the game, and the rest were trolls, all of them trash talkers which was the most fun 2 years as we kept going with Cold War
At least MWIII doesn’t make me do algebra to unlock a red dot sight
the guy you pointed the arrow at didnt have ghost pro in bo1🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂🤪
I know! I just didn't have footage of a Ghost Pro user in my Chopper gunner and hoped no one would notice I waited to zoom in until after i took him out 😂 And surprisingly it worked pretty well as you're the first comment that noticed!
Ghosts was gonna have 8-man teams by default so the maps were made huge to accompany that, but the old-gen engine ran it poorly, so 6v6 returned.
to anyone reading this on WaW i was prolly one of the people that pissed you off with the tanks
I appreciate your honesty
@@CurrentlyCold i don’t regret what i did but i was having fun so that might be why idk though i was just playing the game but atleast i was moving and not camping one spot
Same. The hate for tanks is undeserved.
How do people still not realize that you still had to move for ghost to work in black ops 1
You have black ops 1 ghost confused with black ops 2 ghost
ghosts didn't actually have faster TTK, that was false info. It felt faster because servers and hit detection were better. It's the same style as BO2 and everyone says they love ttk in that game
Bruh, you're the first person I have heard complain about WaW's multiplayer.
great points for explaining why strict SBMM is hurting games more than it helps.
Friend of mine fiercly defends SBMM for some reason and uses these two arguments every time.
SBMM by itself is a good thing but too much of a good thing becomes a bad thing.
Black Ops 1 and WaW both had very bad hit-detection.
9:41 this WAS treyarch’s fault. they scrapped the campaign after horrible internal mismanagement and a unanimous negative opinion on the mode from playtesters. they only pivoted to blackout once the campaign had been scrapped outright.
I really wish cod mobile was on pc and console, i know it defeats the purpose of being a mobile game but having a cod game that pretty much has everything from every cod and it only being able to be played on mobile sucks
There are mobile emulators such as Bluestack that allow you to play the game on PC.
And COD did have something like this for PC: COD Online. But it was only exclusive to Chinese players and it's now discontinued.
I agree with everything you said apart from BO3 surely the most negative part was weapons behind a pay wall that 99% of players never got the chance to use, great video and well made, got my sub, good luck to ya
Yeah, for Cold War you had to stash your own Air Patrol to counter. Sometimes it got crazy and the other team would have a counter to your counter though lol.
Egg 👍
Egg 🥚
Chasm, Siege, Stormfront were awesome. There were plenty of ways to play Ghosts maps quickly without sitting in a corner. Complainers were just bad at the game and never learned it because it played differently than other CODs
'Safe spaces"
You mean like every cod map?
Mw3 2023: unlocking all gun by doing the most stupidest challenges
Wdym "ordinary soldiers"? Did they change the multiplayer characters after launch?
Like BSoloe said, they just played IW for 5 minutes and said it was dogshit and just played COD4 Remastered the entire time.
8:23 heartbroken to hear this, cod iw was my first cod, got it for Christmas or bday or smth, had no clue the mw was an iw copy exclusive (beyond weird) and only played iw, id always felt it was great and was surprised to hear how looked down upon it was.
BO4 Campaign was Treyarch's own decision, they tried to make a COOP Campaign. But it wasn't fun to play so they changed towards Blackout.
MW3: Sitrep Pro. Not only did sitrep pro stop ninja from having silent footsteps, they made the footsteps louder than normal. While using ninja, Sitrep pro was the only perk in the game that completely cancelled out another perk. If you ran ninja against it you basically had 2 perks instead of 3.
1:01 Call of Duty 3 had tanks
New killstreak - dogs
Cod is my favorite multiplayer between squeeks and temperamental adults who should stick with hello kitty adventures, it’s always a blast.
SBMM is the best thing about AW MP, if you compare it to something like BO2 where either you steamroll the enemy team, or get steamrolled, it is so much more satisfying to have actual close battle
Cold Wars scorestreaks weren’t even that bad. If anything. It made the focus of the game more about gun play. (I only play SND and it’s annoying getting railed by a score streak when you only have 1 life)
Nah cause I HATED the IW zombies cliffhanger, and due to the unfairly bad reception of the game, we will most likely not get a followup to that part of the game 😭
Honestly as a zombies player we dont talk about vanguard
i fully agree with you 100% on the mw 3 one the open combat missions were SOOO boring 😭😭
Those things sucked 😂
I can't believe you put SBMM as the worst thing in AW. Imo it has to be the loot boxes with objectively better weapons in it. I'll take trying real hard 1 out 10 matches over being deleted by a weapon that I could have to spend hundreds to unlock.
After like what 10 years I never knew what that yellow indication meant after flash banging back then I was like it's not even OP now I understand why people hated ghost pro
Lmao I’ll be real, I was an Air Patrol user in BOCW. It was just so incredibly funny blowing up people’s streaks and just KNOWING that they were seething over it. Plus, with the awfully designed SBMM making it impossible to go 10 games without playing a six man stack of greasy basement gamers, it felt like a necessity.
