  • The new era of Call of Duty zombies (mostly 2020-2024) has been a much different experience compared to what we got from any entries beforehand. It's gotten to the point where it can be deemed almost soulless, washing away what made it completely relevant and fun in the first place.

No one ever gives the “nameless” marines from nacht and verruckt enough credit. What little they did speak, they oozed personality. The player who was host was the balance between having fun and seriousness. The player who was blue got the nerd/smart soldier who loves comics. The player that got orange was the one that was nearly unhinged. The green player was the grizzled vet. The one who was all business. Their voices all fit the bill. The marines will always have a special place in my heart. Not just the marines, but most of the old casts just had more soul to them. Even the Victis crew, even with all their annoying voice lines, still have more than what we have in zombies today. A friend of mine wants an operator pack for MW3 zombies that has the ultimis crew. They wouldn’t fit at all. This was a great synopsis of the zombie community’s want for a return to the roots. Good fun, good horror…more soul. Thanks wheezy!

  • @theWheezy

I realized I may have made a hypocritical point with the campaign crossovers into zombies. The FIVE crew are real figures and are in the campaign, but the difference between them and campaign characters in the latest COD games is that this cast was for fun, on a bonus map. Their personalities are exaggerated and made to be their own, while Cold War and beyond the characters help lead the main storyline forward. Too much spotlight is on them.
Hope the video is able to bring some good discussion in these comments, let me know your thoughts.

    • @_Bungus
      @_Bungus 26 дней назад +1

The same could almost be said for the Call of the Dead characters since they're also real people, even if not game characters. The big difference, in my mind, is that the old games understood parody and used their cameos quite effectively to drive the comedy first, while simultaneously finding a way to drive the main plot (however minimally) in funny ways. It didn't take its ridiculous world too seriously and didn't really expect you to do so either.
The new ones cameo their own characters in an over-complicated, over-serious plot that blurs the lines between their own in-game universes. It feels so tonally dissonant when the game re-uses all of its characters to create an alternate universe/timeline with a different story and takes both universes dead seriously. Despite that seriousness, from the moment you boot up zombies you're expected to understand that "ok this is just a different timeline, alright? We're playing pretend. BUT STILL TREAT IT LIKE IT'S REAL OKAY." How the hell am I supposed to take this seriously?
I will be the first person to confess that BO3 and onward (even BO2 to a much lesser extent) started taking itself too seriously for me, but at least it was its own thing and still wasn't afraid to get silly. BO1 had a masterful combination of a silly and interesting plot. That's why it gets away with it where the new ones don't. Plot came second, and we got invested because the characters were so much fun that we wanted to know more about them and their story. New ones expect us to care just because the writers do and shoehorn an elaborate plot into a style of gameplay that doesn't mesh very well with a serious or elaborate story.

I don't blame them for BO4 and Coldwar zombies (and WWII, and Vanguard, but those are so bad on their own anyway), but MW3 zombies is so beyond boring. It is insane to me that a team of people made that and said "yea, they'll love this". Mind blowing.

I'd argue that the Cold War Zombies has absolutely no identity. It feels more like multiplayer than zombies. I think that it's because of the fact that the _old Treyarch_ is gone. And gone forever. The veterans designers of the mode have been leaving the studio with every new entry since Black Ops 3:
Remember Jimmy Z? R.I.P (guy works on Xdefient now)
Remember Jason B? R.I.P (guy is AWOL)
Remember Craige... Oh, wait. He's the lead writer now. The man behind Cold War and MWZ. 😐
Anyhow, what I wanted to say is that the _new Treyarch_ consists of the new people. "Different" kinds of people, and I don't like that *difference.*

I agree, one of the things that made the mode start deteriorating is getting rid of the set crews/characters. Playing as whatever operator you pick is as soulless as it gets, and even worse you spawn in with any gun now, they've lost the plot to what made the mode unique and interesting.
Vanguard & MWZ cannot even be categorized as your usual COD zombies anymore. The best we've gotten in recent years is BOCW zombies, which even then that was pretty mediocre & soulless when you compare it to the older stuff. Some might try to say that we're looking at the past with rose-tinted glasses, but in this case that couldn't be further from the truth. Zombies is objectively a husk of what it used to be. Nowadays the mode is used as a means to drive up sales, because zombies sells more than yet another broken & boring spec ops mode, or an experimental mode like DMZ where they have no idea how the majority of players will like it.
16 month development time for MWIII be damned; for $70, consumers deserve so much better than a throwaway filler mode like MWZ, the new king for worst campaign in franchise history, and a multiplayer that is just average with a hefty side of nostalgia bait. I think that's one of the big issues with COD nowadays in general, those stuck in the yearly addiction cycle try their best to defend & settle for pure mediocrity. It's no wonder why the wider gaming community sees this franchise as a joke that you eventually graduate from/grow out of.
Treyarch's game this year is likely the last chance a lot of people are willing to give for a true return to the former quality of zombies. It remains to be seen if their 4 years of record development time will result in something great or not.

The one thing I really didn’t like was how quickly the Easter eggs got out of hand. They got way too complicated, and that might not be a big issue when playing solo, but when playing online, and everyone wants to try to work out the 50 steps for the easter egg, it really started to distract from the main point of fighting zombies. That’s the one thing that keeps WaW as my favorite. The Easter eggs were small and didn’t take hours to complete.
Also, BO1 really massacred the original team’s personalities. They were still mostly badass in Kino, though they would have their occasional silly moments, then I remember that by Ascension, Takeo and Dempsey were just meta meme lords with none of the badassery they had in WaW. Nikolai and Richthofen were already the comic relief, but even their serious moments were replaced with ridiculous levels of flanderization. I know a lot of people don’t really pay attention to the character lines, but that hurt my soul to see what they did to these characters, especially Takeo.

Its a mix of a bit of the classic humor, but more serious and bad ass. Takeo was also pretty boring in WAW and BO1 and BO1 imoroved him slightly imo. His whole joke was "honor, honor, honor" which wasn't as funny as the other characters' main jokes. Its not that the easter eggs in WAW were just simple to understand, but there were hardly any compared to the later games in the first place which makes the maps more repetitive and less dynamic. As much as i love the atmosphere of the WAW zombies maps,, the game is mega jank to play and just doesn't hold up game play wise.. Also do you just play with randoms or something? What it sounds like is you only have an issue when you play with random and let me tell you, that is the worst experience you could ever have playing zombies. Either play with friends or by yourself. But even when playing with random, you can literally play however you want. You can literally ignore whatever your teammates are doing and play your way. Also, alot of Easter egg steps in BO3 aren't really that difficult when you learn the map/steps to the point where you know it like the back of your hand. Like I watched how to get the electric box in DE like a handful of times and now I know how to get it by heart even 9 years later.

Honest to God, the UI elements are the #1 thing that has kept me from even trying any of the new zombie modes for more than a single match. I'm so glad you brought it up, because it's so excessive that I feel like my brain is being fuckin' DDoS'd by the screen. It's all redundant and unnecessary information and I find myself so irritated just looking at the screen that I can't even be bothered finding out if the new modes are any good anyway (my guess was and still is- no).
The old UI was so bare-bones and simplistic, and yet I never once found myself thinking that I needed more information on my screen. CoD devs have been all too happy to oblige us anyway in newer releases.
I see the zombies. I know my bullets are hitting them. I know they're losing health. I know I'm killing... er, eliminating them. I know where I am on the map... and so on. 95% of the crap on screen is completely unnecessary.
Game UIs seem to be degrading across the entire industry though. So confusing. It's like they think we're all morons who need all the information the game could possibly provide to us explained on screen at all times, lest we get lost.

You'd pay $50 to effectively triple or quadruple the amount of content in the game, and that was on top of the fact that the base games were already perfectly fine as they were. Now it's just a negligible drip-feed of half-assed content coming in on top of unfinished games that desperately need more content. The DLC system was better value for money and gave us way more to do.
Also, I'm sick of the "you don't have to buy the battle pass" argument, because that's not even half of why it's such a horrendous system. The reason the actual CONTENT in games is so half-assed now is because that's not even where the money is anymore. The effort gets put into selling cosmetics to idiots and not into making good games that earn every cent we pay. Monetized cosmetics come first, game comes second. It USED to be that all the effort went into making stuff we could actually play.
So I hate the battlepass/cosmetic shop system to its core because it has effectively turned the game industry into an environment where developers no longer make games for people like me, who ONLY care about *playing good games*, and instead make them for people who will play the games regardless of whether they're any good or not and pour all the rest of their money into whatever the fuck else gets sold to them in the skin shop. It's funny, as a player who didn't grow fully invested in the Treyarch zombies and pretty much most of the round based entries, I still agree with this.
I didn't have the joy of having xbox live or ps services, hell, I didn't even got a pc powerful enough to run bo1 until 2019.
What I did have, was a bootleg 360, and I grew with kino, tranzit, and thanks to q friend, Shadows of Evil. Back then I knew this mode had potential, I was so young and naive (10 by the time bo2 came out btw) I didn't even know those entries had more maps, I didn't even know what a DLC was.
I genuinely never got tired of tranzit until very recently, yes, the map is overwhelmingly big and badly separated, but still I found things to, ways to entertain myself with the mode and so on.
Nowadays thanks to plutonium (this ain't an ad, I promise) I literally found out there are maps like ShangriLa, MOTD, I didn't even know WordAtWar was the pioneer of zombie mode.
And even after all this, with new experiences and so on, I have no interest in the newer zombie modes, the UI, the environment, I doesn't catch my interest.
I don't even like the MP mode of CoD (most likely due to skill issue) so things like DMZ and even the BR aspect of the games is something I don't really care that much, given that, the MW3Z is even less interesting to me due to this.
My opinion may change if I have the chance to play it, but then again, no interest in the campaign, no reason to jump to MP, and low expectations for a zombies mode, I much rather waste $70 on gacha content than this game... And that's saying something.

    • @nottestament6201
      @nottestament6201 2 месяца назад

In retrospect, I was a CoD mobile user, And I invested a fair bit of time on both zombie modes from that entry.
Undead Siege is awful, and I doubt anyone really likes it, it's just a tower defense time based mode, nothing interesting, tried to like it while grinding the "battle pass" thing that came with it, but just couldn't.
And then there's Shino Nu Ma, probably the sixth time that map got "remastered" into another entry but, funny enough, it was my first time actually jumping into shino nu ma in general.
I found the mode to be great, the perks, the very small EE, the boss battle was fun the first few attempts. But it went stale pretty quickly, and I think it's mainly the same points, operators.
Yes, It's funny to jump in with the wackiest cutie patootie skin and reach for an overpowered marksman rifle from the gunlocker, but then the game mode feels dull, no real comentary, feels like a modded experience.
Jumping back to bo1 Shino (because I can't stand the WaW hitbox), the game feels alive, sure, the first instances of that maps are kind of simple and doesn't have much to go for, but the comments from the OG crew, the eerie environment, it's gold, even if the map doesn't have much to offer, I much rather play in an empty map with Nikolai's drunk complains than the same map, with an "updated" environment (Mobile SNN feels much emptier and easier due to optimization tweaks) and somewhat richer story, but blank characters that are more like placeholders for a camera.

I mean look at Origins in BO2, is that not what you consider "fantasy bullshit"? It always weird to me when people don't include BO3 when its literally considered the absolute best iteration of zombies and it has the "fantasy bullshit" you hate so much. The problem isn't "fantasy bullshit" because a primary with the new games are that they are boring and uninspired, it would really help to have more creativity injected into it if anything. And of course most casuals blame easter eggs, yet the newer games like Vanguard and MW3 zombies don't have any complicated easter eggs at all, they just suck completely and aren't fun.

For example Ghosts Extinction mode had a better class system than both BO3 and BO4 you can have explosive ammo and drop ammo crates that aren't op but interesting.
While you could say that Origins shares a lot of things with BO3 zombies, it still retains a lot of what makes n*zi zombies, n*zi zombies.
BO3 is probably when a lot of old players were replaced with a newer generation of players, fundamentals like the dolphin dive and the 2 hit system. I enjoy both bo3 and bo2 origins but they play very differently between BO2's glitches and Bo3's slide movement system they play very differently. @@SACKBOY123432 Fair enough, I can see some of the things you mention loke gobblegums and the aesthetics of BO3. I can see why people aren't used to BO3 but imo BO3 is better overall. Gobblegums are OP, but its not like you get the most OP ones instantly except for a few OP classic gobblegums. Most of the good ones are finite use and imo it gives even more reason to grind the game. I personally think it's sort of a "reward" for playing the game a lot. I think the reason the Mystery Box seems "plasticy" is because the BO3 engine makes everything so bright and colorful in comparison to all the other games. Honestly I think it makes maps like DE and SOE look gorgeous, but I can see why people would prefer the darker aesthetics of WAW and BO1. Also as someone who has played BO1 zombies when it first came out and loved dolphin diving with PHD Flopper, I dont care dolphin diving is gone. I never really used it aside for PHD, but sliding in BO3 makes traversal a lot faster and smoother so I use it all the time. It sucks they didn't make an actual good sliding version of PHD until Cold War (I dont remember the Bo4 one being all that fun), but I honestly think sliding is better. Unless it's an issue of challenge, I dont see why anyone would complain about being able to take 3 hits instead 2. I think the "balance" change they made is that health regenerates slower as well. I also don't think COD Zombies has felt like "Nazi zombies" since the beginning of BO2. It stopped being nazi zombies after the end of BO1. Also its not just Origins, but also Mob of the Dead that are closer to being like BO3. I also think some of the criticisms BO3 gets are sort of null and void because of mods.

In all genuine honesty I never liked how much was added to the zombie game mode/story from BO2 and onward… everything in WAW and BO1 was so simple and easy to follow with an incredibly mysterious/dreadful/eerie feel to it that kept you HOOKED to the gameplay as well as the story going on in the background of the map… all the small/little hidden details MADE YOU want to explore the map even when you were just a causal player that was only trying to make it to high rounds like how I was… then there were those moments of discovering secrets by accident that scratched an itch you never even realized you had for learning the story… BUT THEN…. BO2 comes in and it feels like a story is being shoved right in front of our faces… now it wasn’t as bad in BO2 but… if you were only a casual player… you definitely would’ve noticed… then the writers over did it with different timelines, dimensions, and evil entities/forces that TURNS OUT were the ACTUAL reason that everything was even happening in the first place… and that only resulted in the story getting too convoluted and confusing to follow anymore RATHER than it being somewhat grounded with the “hidden conspiracy” feel it had going for itself from the beginning… it was originally just a newly discovered element from a meteorite with unknown powerful energy emanating from it that was the cause of everything happening concerning the zombies… now it’s just generic evil entities from another dimension that is the cause of it all… and that’s just talking about the story aspects of zombies… the gameplay…? the gameplay made me feel like I was FORCED to do certain tasks in order to do what was simple in the original WAW/BO1 zombie maps… and if I didn’t do those certain tasks I wouldn’t be able to have a somewhat casual run in any map save for MAYBE Die Rise… now… people will probably hate me for this but ‘Mob of the dead’ ? The story is actually very interesting but I hated how much I NEEDED to do in the map to, again, have a casual run… and from then on things ONLY GOT WORSE

very interesting. i have also been thinking about this "soulless" phenomenon for a while now. especially after the new re4 remake came out i knew something was off. it just seems like all these new games are "missing" something the old ones had before that make them feel "soulless". and i think i had a discovery last night to why this might be which i think at its root comes down to "style".
if you compare the old zombies to new zombies in their "looks" or visual appearance of them what do you see? the new games are trying to be "real". realistic graphics. realistic lighting. realistic everything. and what does that do? it just makes the game reality. thats it. nothing more. but if you look at the old games they almost look like paintings. art drawings. works of art in their graphics. in their colors, lighting. its NOT real. it isnt reality.
so why do these new games feel "soulless"? because style... is something that can only happen when a person ALTERS reality to how they IMAGINE it to be. not just copy reality as it is. change colors. lightings and many other things to fit a "style" of how they want it to be. so what happens when you don't do this? dont have "style"? and just decide to have realistic graphics copying the real world? theres no soul. because reality is by definition SOULLESS. it just is. nobody is putting their artistic twist on things that come from THEIR SOUL.
so the more we move towards "realistic" graphics and wanting less and less "art" within our games. to just have reality on a screen. the less "soul" it will have to have. because it is just reality not a reality that has been stylized by a mind. a person. a soul deciding how it should be styled.

@@ELIZABETHMARLONE2005 I don’t believe so. I think it really has to do with both player controller mechanics and aesthetics that determine this. Today. Games are “real” graphically and mechanically in how you move. Before this wasn’t the case it was more “interpretive” of both those things. Even just look at world at war. That game graphically has more in common with a painting than anything else. That’s how it looks.
I really think that “realism” kills the “soul” of gaming. Because “realism” is just real. Nothing else. While “art” is by definition creative and imaginative. Textures aren’t copied but created by hand with someone’s mind and soul to what something looks like. Not exactly like they are in reality.
When you just copy reality to photorealistic levels you lose that “soul” someone has in creating the textures themselves and how the THINK it would look and feel like

So I think rdr2 passes the “soul” test.
I think a game like cod ww2 or bf2042 does not pass the soul test. Where they are trying to be exactly like reality and not have the artist changes like rdr2 has. To be “just like reality” and not an imagined form of it.

For me, nothing will ever top the original 4 (though Kino and Five came the closest). These maps were just a straight up game of survival. No overly complicated Easter eggs, none of the extra crap they have nowadays. It was so much fun online back in those days. Before WaW got overrun with hackers, you could literally just play nonstop for weeks and never get bored. The character lines were awesome, not like the ridiculous parodies of themselves that they became later (they turned my boy Takeo from a badass Samurai into a meta memelord. Ugh…), the atmosphere was dark, you could tell the creators really put a lot of care into each map.
I guess I’m probably biased, but WaW zombies, for me, will never be surpassed. I don’t even bother with the new versions anymore, I just boot up WaW or black ops 1 when I feel like playing some zombies.

Back then it was mostly playing solo and grinding high-rounds while learning the lore of the game, but other times I played co-op with random players and it wasn't as toxic as it is today, the BOCW is a joke of zombies mode since BO4, the MW series never should have had zombies to begin with ever since the Warzone spooky event in MW19 during the pandemic.

i think the biggest flaw with the new games is the lack of "Arcade" feeling, where the difficult of the game was completely up to the person behind the screen, up until BO2 you could play with a fresh account and perform just as good as you did by playing on a veteran account, but from BO3 onward, they added unlockables upon unlockables to alter gameplay in an unbalanced way.
While the gunsmith to bring custom guns in game was pretty cool, the most hideous feature has to be the upgrades in both CW and MWIII, they completely break the already little balancement the game has to begin with, making a newbie far less skilled than a seasoned player in all possible ways.

I have no idea why the hell you can’t turn off the kill feed thing. At least you can get rid of health bars in Cold War. The problem is the entire game’s innovation was in its between-match progression which made all the maps feel the same and took away the core of zombies. You no longer build up an arsenal each match. It is all unlocked and leveled up by grinding and then you are super OP. No personality and no mechanical innovations between maps.

What started as an afterthought became popular, was developed, then overdeveloped. Many such cases. Nacht der Untoten was a really interesting thing in WAW, a neat unlock for completing the game. It drew interest, and for good reason. The following maps, characters and story development were great. The lore and characters were expressed almost exclusively though gameplay and short Easter eggs, through what the player observed and could piece together from what they found. The gameplay was clunky, but the aesthetic was perfect, they nailed it. The first Black Ops was, for the most part, a successful addition. It continued along the same established formula. It also included a few off-brand additions, like Dead Ops Arcade, Five and Call of the Dead, additions that were fun on their own and should have remained outside of the main formula. Moon then cemented the first detraction from the gameplay loop, the cosmonaut, an enemy type that is a slog to kill and returns shortly afterward, disrupting the primary tactic of training zombies around. George Romero was the same way as the cosmonaut, but that would have otherwise been an interesting one-off thing. Black Ops II is where the story was first derailed, introducing more maps that should have been their own story, but were also needlessly integrated into the grander cannon. The main story with the original characters too was needlessly over-complicated, all at once. What followed was further detractive deviations in gameplay, lore dumping, over-complication, and side stories that should have been their own self-contained things instead adding to the blah-blah-blah of the already needlessly grandiose and increasingly borderline schizophrenic storyline. It was all so much better when it was still relatively grounded, when it was just a slightly metaphysical science fiction about alternate history.

I didn’t love everything Cold War did, but as a reboot to the series I thought it was quite good with its quality of life tweaks as well as being inviting to new players. Cold War did a great job bridging the gap between new and old players. The cardinal sins of the past two games have been not meaningfully engaging with what Cold War built and catering entirely to a new audience while leaving the old behind.

The only interesting characters are Richtofen and Samantha (old characters from the previous universe tho). And they also combined the current zombie storyline with the campaign one... LITERALLY WHAT?! In my opinion, they should pretend that Black Ops 4 story never happened and do something better after "Revelations" ending. Well, it's just an opinion. Not everything about modern zombies it's bad or mediocre. Although, well we still have Black Ops 3 and WAW custom maps.

  • @EvilParagon4
    @EvilParagon4 Месяц назад +1

I think the binary of New and Old is a bit too reductive when I'd really make three eras. WaW and BO1, BO2 and BO3, and everything else.
The barrier between BO1 and BO2 is just... the story and map design. The first era had more light story, stuff you'd be unlikely to experience yourself and would more read about from some nerd who took the time to listen to a radio somewhere and all that. The story was there but it was secondary to the map, where the map had character first.
The map design of the first two games is more focused around what the map does rather than what the player on that map can do. It makes each gameplay experience feel more cohesive. There is cold water on Call of the Dead, there is mud on Shangri La, there is low gravity on Moon, these are great map effects, but BO2 took this a step further with player power type things. Those craftables in the early maps, those staffs on Origins, the big fella in Buried, etc. These made unique experiences more player focused rather than map focused. The gameplay changes every map to account for what abilities the map gives the player rather than merely what the map itself does for the player. It's very hard to explain but the design is apparent. And admittedly, there is overlap. The hack tool vs space suit on Moon is an example of unique player ability in BO1, and it's not like environment effects were taken away in BO2 with the bus on Tranzit or the elevators on the skyscraper map.
But this unique gameplay focus was what lead to maps like Alcatraz, a lot of people's favourite map but it never captured me. The map is honestly quite boring with few unique gimmicks to it... except for stuff like the ghost mode and all that comes with it. It is certainly a unique map with unique things to do, and brings about its own experience like other maps would, but it's mostly built on player ability rather than the environment itself, which due to its popularity certainly lead into the way maps were designed in BO3. If unique player abilities never caught your attention in BO2, then chances are the only zombies games you like are WaW and BO1, and even then you probably just play BO1 because it has all the maps from WaW, unless you're into WaW's modding scene.
Point being, there were a lot of zombies fans left behind by BO2's change to the formula. So there's certainly more than two zombies eras, there's three.

For me, I loved classic zombies because of its simplicity, dark and foreboding tones, and its generally horror based theme with music and ambience that made you to terrified to even MOVE. It was "Hey, you there. You're finally awake, the German Wermacht is crawling out of the dirt and eating people alive, no clue why, crazy 3rd Riech experiment? Forget all that, fight while in fear for your life or die a gruesome death. Easter eggs? Secret Music? Magical man made devices? Here, open this box and get an ALIEN SPACE BLASTER. Knife this radio and hear a crackling, garbled broadcast of ADOLF HITLER GIVING A SPEECH." Over the years, its turned into an RGB color pallet with all sorts of 'specialty zombies' all surrounding a multiverse full of pixie dust, unicorn farts, magic staves from the medieval times, sky scrapper sized robot mechs and portals to other dimensions. To hell with all that noise, its bloated and MCU'ified. Its cartoony, weak, soulless and it turns a game originally meant as an action horror thriller into some fantasy, mythical arcade shooter with some zombies and guns sprinkled in. The ONLY game thats remotely tried to return to the horror roots of zombies was COD WW2's zombies. Dont get me wrong, that games zombies was absolutely garbage. But from a design standpoint? Holy SHIT were the zombies and tone and ambiance terrifying. If COD wiped the slate clean and made a round based zombies game like classic WAW, where the tone, ambiance and zombies LOOKED like WW2 zombies and the story was grounded in some 3rd Riech experiments akin to something like the movie Overlord?... That would make for an INCREDIBLE action horror thriller, round based zombies game.

This is exactly why I hold up the original four maps (and to a somewhat lesser extent, Kino and Five) as the peak of the series. Now personally, I didn’t mind the hidden song Easter eggs. I didn’t even mind the things they had in Der Riese, liking throwing the monkey in the furnace, or the radios telling some backstory. Those were cool little things that were easy to do, and if you didn’t want to, fine, it’s not essential. The focus of the maps in WaW was purely on fighting zombies, on creating a dark, spooky atmosphere where you genuinely feared being surrounded and trapped. It was simple, but it was so much fun and ridiculously addictive. I can still vividly recall the summer of 2009, just playing zombies online nonstop for weeks. Back before the hackers took over and ruined the game, you could find a good lobby within seconds and have a blast surviving as long as possible.

Story wise we don’t even have a crew anymore or even a moan character, even Cold War had Samantha and or weaver. Lastly they still had story left from black ops 4 with the chaos story and yet they didn’t do anything with it, at least if they used that we wouldn’t had some type of reason to stay paying attention.
