Super nice work! On the saddle rails, for new saddles, sew one side of the rail pieces and use snappers on the other like the pouch straps. Again sir, superb work! Did you whip stitch the ends or did i see it wrong?
My hobby is mainly Blacksmithing leather work has been something i had a interest in but never got into . but the more i see you do it the more i think about having a go at it . And may I say Sir the work you do shows the talent of a true craftsmen . cheers from Australia.
Your craftsmanship, your dexterity , your ability to adapt to an easier means COMPLETELY BLEW ME AWAY...and the end result is sooo good. Loved the video. I watch a lot of these on RUclips but you r special.Looking forward to learning A LOT MORE FROM YOU...Thanks for sharing your talent.
I've been waiting for more leather-working videos! I'm subscribed to 100 channels but this one brings me the most joy and peace. Thank you so much for what you do!
i studied leather work (intended for expensive wallets and bags and such) and if I did ANY of the stuff you show here, they'd have had my neck haha ! I suggested using a dremmel to do the holes on the side of a very thick piece and the teacher was scandalised. instead I spend 2 hours hammering at the damn thing. I disagreed with it though, I think like with all creative processes, methods can be flexible and you gotta use the tools to make your job easier. man this made me wanna grab my tools again !
I would have gone with a basic saddle stitch. Then I realized that your stitch would keep the upper edges together really well, taking the pressure off the cement- brilliant. Learn something new every day, thanks for sharing!!
Leatherworking is becoming more and more appealing to me. The cost of getting into it is a few specialty hand tools and some leather, that's really it. There's obviously tricks to it like anything else but it's fairly clean, you could do it in your pajamas while listening to music, and you can create pieces that will last decades. Stuff that you could use everyday and actually improve your life like custom wallets, belts, carry bags etc. I don't know how leatherworking went off my radar for so long but my god it seems like a great hobby all around. Great project man, thank you for the inspiration as always.
I happened to find this somehow by just cruising thru the Internets... I was hooked!!! Not only was the video fascinating, but the quality and detail on the bag was awesome. Yeah, I'm a subscriber now!!!
Here I am watching this again a year later. Amazed at how that bag came together, no patterns to speak of, and using a drill to make the holes. Definitely winging it, but came out great.
I've always envied people who make stuff like that. Making bag like that is pretty simple but coming up with the idea and making the video of it is something to be proud of. Thats the part i envy, creativity.
Great video, I just bought a starter set of tools (awaiting leather to be delivered) for something to learn while Im locked down in my flat. This is going to be fun , I have an immense amount of patience and like things just right. I can't wait for the leather to arrive! Trying it out on thick waxed canvas first though...
They might be wearing earphones :) but as a crafter myself, you get so into your work that you lose track of time working, even without music. You pause only to go to the toilet, or drink water, or to stretch out if muscles start to cramp out.
as a motorized bicyclist, I can vouch for the spanner. I threw my pedal chain at a stoplight and had a bit of a scare. rear axle had migrated out of tension, almost leaving my ass in the breeze
Hey Black Beard! This video inspired me to adapt/copy your build here to make a leather case to hold two whisky glasses. It was my first ever leather project and I’m super happy with it. Thanks!
It's often called a valise or a portmanteau. I've been making them for years. They used to sit behind the cantle of a saddle on a horse so naturally this little piece of gear transfers and easily adapts I to cycling.
Fabulous tip with respect to making circles from the bottom of the aerosol can with some scotch tape shim. In addition, I loved how you use zip ties to create a hard mold for the round sections of the case. Great job
Brilliant handwork, real masterpiece, truly speaking for my stuff it would be too small but many people will surely find it perfectly suitable for things they normally cycle with
Evviva l'amuchinaaaaaaaa!!!! Bellissima borsa da sella!!! Hai mai provato ad usare una lesina romboidale per fare cuciture a zig zag (all'italiana?) complimenti e keep on making!!!
Красавец, золотые руки . Приятно было посмотреть на красивую Работу. Но все таки шатун лучше откручивать специальным ключем, а не молотком и отверткой. )))

Great video 👌😊💯🌹
Fixed gear bike?
I have to say, I love how you drew the circle around the circle.... Never saw it done that way before..... Very nice.
Agreed. And so simple.
same. mindblown
It's usually done with a washer, a big washer, at least that's how I always saw it done.
I loved that and will be using it too!
Sat catching flies for the whole video, simplicity when used by someone who knows their stuff is poetry.

Loved the hand sanitizer at the end ahahah
Emiliano Colombo I thought I was the only one
Sign of the times! Beautiful vintage style leather saddle bag, with added hand gel 🦠
He was just thinking in the future. :(

A beautiful final product. Thank you for clearly showing the steps, the tools, and for sharing this video!
Fun project. I appreciate how thoughtful you are of your neighbors, especially in these tense times.
Be well, and take good care!

listening to this was like straight up ASMR. Love it!
I knew it was just a matter of time before I saw someone use a drill on leather to get the holes needed for stitching. Good Job!
Beautifully done. I love the look and esthetic and fit.
hiiiiiii

it's so rad that you're always delving into different and new things! you're a very curious guy.

I think i might have overrated my crafting abilities after rewatching.

How is it going?
I really don't know how some of these guys on youtube work so hard on these projects in near silence. No music, no talking, just leather.
They might be wearing earphones :) but as a crafter myself, you get so into your work that you lose track of time working, even without music. You pause only to go to the toilet, or drink water, or to stretch out if muscles start to cramp out.
Awesome video man, and a truly beautiful result! Gonna have to try something similar now for my motorcycle 🤔
hello
I have never seen such a gorgeous art in my life. Its mesmarizing.....
You need a Brooks saddle to go with it!
& Saddle Bags Would Be COOLLLL
hi
Tutta un'opera d'arte realizzata da un artista italiano. Orgogliosamente made in Italy.
That looks like a professional job to me.
hiiiii
The Sellotape border thickness on the end pieces was inspiring, fantastic tip
Impressive! If I tried that, I'd be missing a finger. A small multi-tool would be better.
I'am Craftsman from Venezuela. Very good work colleague... Congratulations!
I'm impressed with all your free-hand work without templates.
Those things look straight at 4:53, but then on an angle later.
I think he remade it...
I noticed that too
Yes! I had to remade it. It wasn't fitting well straight. Well done noticing it!
Thanks god... I was so confused. I'm so happy that I'm not alone.

Incredibly skillful craftsman. Great job
So nice, so very nice
Exceptional craftsmanship, thank you for illustrating your talent.
Ah, yes. I too never leave the house without hand sanitizer and a spanner.
as a motorized bicyclist, I can vouch for the spanner. I threw my pedal chain at a stoplight and had a bit of a scare. rear axle had migrated out of tension, almost leaving my ass in the breeze

It's often called a valise or a portmanteau. I've been making them for years. They used to sit behind the cantle of a saddle on a horse so naturally this little piece of gear transfers and easily adapts I to cycling.
