The whole song is Peter Steele singing, carnivore was Peter Steele's band before Type O Negative he wrote and sang all the songs. Peter Steele was a lyrical genius.
Remember - Peter was all about pushing buttons and shocking people with his words. He knew exactly what to say to get a rise out of people. From everyone that knew him (and I know people who did, being that the Queens/Brooklyn metal culture was very closely knit as I was growing up), he was a very loving and sensitive person with an affinity for his mother and cats. Met him once at L'amour in Brooklyn, and he was very nice to everyone. A rarity among "rock stars."
Grown Man I went twice in 2000. Once for Armored Saint, and once for In Flames/Earth Crisis/Skinlab/Walls of Jericho. Great shows.
Peter Steele is the ultimate troll, trolling from beyond the grave!
And the women love him 😂
Peter Steele always said if it doesnt scare or piss off your parents it isnt rock n roll. My wife loves this song lol
I love this song too.
Based women both
Peter is so strong he can make Sori flip two birds from beyond the grave.
"Male supremacy". Sori face: 🤬
"Woman its true, I do battle for you, You my everything". Sori face: 😯☺
"When on the fur I make love to her How her body sings". Sori face: 🤤😍
"Male supremacy". Sori face: 😏
haha
Yes
shut up woke!
Peter Steele was very ironic and if you get offended you didn't pay attention to any of the songs you did from type o negative.
that is a very accurate statement. With songs like "kill all the white people", "I know you're fucking someone else" and the Hedwig cover "Angry inch" one could infer Peter is a jilted transsexual caucasian killer. He doesn't even want to be himself! hah! feelings.
@@ubermalice9589 lol
@@ubermalice9589 I believe the band was accused of being anti-semitic and anti-woman after slow, deep, and hard came out, so since they are wonderful at playing defense, bloody kisses contained both "kill all the white people" and "we hate everyone."
@@peterusso4873 I don't know Pete, that seems a bit of a reach. I don't doubt they (type O) had\have deeply held beliefs or that in their time they received less than stellar acclaim. However I find it far more likely based on interviews and broad analysis of the entirety of their catalogue; that they're (type O) guilty of having a grand sense of humor and command of satire. I'm fairly certain that Steele isn't (rather, wasn't) the type to yield artistically to external forces, but that's conjecture on my part. I admit that. Anecdotally speaking regarding music in general; I find it silly when people are offended by lyrics. I'll say the same about jokes, movies and art. But... that's just like my opinion man.
@ Uber Malice
Actually, Pete Russo's theory sounds about right. They did catch a lot of flak for SD&H, and some of the tracks from BK were a response to those ridiculous accusations/allegations. Kind of a "You want racist/sexist? I'll give/show you a fuckin racist/sexist, you stupid mooks", lol. But as you pointed out, they DO have an excellently wicked collective sense of humor, so even when they fire back at critics, they do so with tongue in cheek. :-P
But whatever the real story is/was, it generated a "TON" of great music. :-D
The guitarist on this album also passed away several years ago. He hit a pothole riding his bicycle and hit his head. RIP Keith Alexander.... and Lord Petrus T. Steele.
Steele's real last name was Ratajczyk, actually.
I saw the reunion show right after he died in '08. Amazing show, but a damn shame he passed
Damn crazy! died while on a bike ride....
Peter was a god among men
Sori has some twisted views on men, just because Vin sits down and reads the bible for "Man time" doesn't make other men worthless or greater.
I learned to hunt and fish from 6-7 years old, learned how to do carpenter work, fix cars and many other things before I was even thirteen years old.
I was raised in the country and enjoy having friends with benefits, I have a nephew and a step niece I take care of.
Doesn't make me better or worse than any other "man" or how you perceive men.
I'm so sick of Sori's toxic femininity 😛😉😂
Lol!
Toxic Femininity is a real thing! I know lots of guys suffering from it in the workshop I am employed with!
Is "toxic femininity" the new synonym for "Feminazi bullshit"? LOL
I find it humorous that people will find movies like Conan perfectly acceptable, but will poo poo songs that are pretty much the same story just done to music.
Agreed - I think Sori (and possibly Vin) are missing that vital context, that this song is part of a concept album about a post-apocalyptic wasteland after a nuclear fallout, and how some of the survivors were transformed into savage mutants with primal instincts and cannibalistic tendencies.
I think I described the album/song as a "Mad Max movie for the ears", but your Conan reference is better.
Well, Conan's was a product of its time just like Carnivore. Conservative revolution and shit.
@@BlackieNuff Oliver Stone's original draft for the Conan movie was actually gonna be set in the post-apocalypse, so all these ideas come full circle.
@@KomradeKrusher
I could totally see that. Maybe Stone went with the old "sword & sorcery" angle cos the post-apocalypse thing was already being done with Mad Max... that came out around the same time, right? Late-70s/early-80s? Although that had a more steampunk/futuristic element as opposed to the loincloth-clad barbarians and primitive tribes warring over territory.
Meh, I like how Conan turned out, at any rate.
Lord Petrus still caused an extremely public argument from beyond the grave😂😂😂
Type O Negative - Everyone I Love is Dead
I think Everything Dies is a better pick.
So glad you two reacted to this; One of the best Carnivore songs ever. ~ You just listened to the re-mastered version. The original pressing of the album had Peter's vocals with a "mountain hall" like reverb, which sounded even more impressive and wild. ~ RIP Peter Steele
I was very surprised when I saw this video in my feed. I Loved this song. It was soooo ridiculously over the top. It should be obvious from the lyrics that this song isn't to be taken seriously.
It should be obvious from reading it that the bible is fiction, yet here we are
@@MortiisSB And that has what to do with the video? Attention seeking is sad, and no, I am not religious.
@@n3Cr0ManCeD they're christians. You said something should be obvious because of the words, well obviously not to like them
It is, it is exactly about the feminist attitude toward manliness, and it never had been more actual than today...
@@demoncore5342 troll fail
Remember Peter loved sarcastic humor..
I think this song is about Vikings...
Pretty much, but in a post apocalyptic setting. Barbarians and post apop was the theme of CARNIVORE.
RIP Peter Steele
First time I have seen anyone react to this. You should probably research the band more though. They were a "fictional character" type band like Gwar. They were post apocalyptic viking type characters. They waged war against others and lived in a world that was supposed to be male dominate like in times past. The point of the song was, for all the bravado and feelings of supremacy and dominance, they shed all that when they came home and passed all the power to her. She healed them and comforted them and kept everything running on the home front. All the treasures that brought back were to better the family life and for her. So in the end, she really had all the power. This was classic Peter. He would push your buttons and shock you, then snap you around 180 degrees and then leave you to sort out the meaning. You applied modern thought and ideals to something that referenced a fictional time and place.
these two people constantly seem miserable. also, they clearly have zero understanding of who pete steele was as a human being.
I know I'm alone here, but my favorite Carnivore song is World War III & IV.
Nah, I love the galloping on that one (on the chorus). Good tune.
Yeeeea world war III&VI is grest song the Best of the album
Not to be a stickler, but :
IV = 4
VI = 6
Confused?
When adding a "I" (1) to other Roman numerals, place it after as addition, but prior to indicate a subtraction.
IV = 5-1 (=4)
VI = 5+1(=6)
And consequently : VII (5+2)=7, VIII (5+3)=8,
Until 9, when the pattern repeats with 10 (as with 4) ; 10=X, 9=IX (10-1).
:-)
@@BlackieNuff IV finger error, nothing more...
Fair enough. :-)
“I can understand the double meaning and hyperbole in Peter Steele’s other songs but not this particular song because of the subject matter it contains.” - Sori, 2019
National Women's Day Song.
Testament - Hail Mary
Anthrax - Indians
Exodus - Toxic Waltz
The whole carnivore idea is a thematic album, and if you don't get that you'll never enjoy anything on it.
There were a few global culture references in the song. Like when it mentioned wearing scalps, that native Americans, and other parts were vikings, or romans, etc. Which was cool.
Peter Steele was a supreme male.
The fact Sori gave it a 10 is proof that Peter was a genius. All Hail the Green Man!!!!!!!!!
Carnivore only had two albums before they disbanded (and Peter moved on to Type O Negative).
The first Carnivore album (which Male Supremacy is from) is an eponymous concept album, which is about a post-apocalyptic world following a nuclear fallout, where human survivors were comprised of two groups :
1. regular survivors who must dwell underground away from the toxic environment of the surface which is still under nuclear winter
2. the surface dwellers - mutated, barbaric cannibals who have reverted to the most primal of instincts ; fuck, eat, kill (one of the lyrics in one of the songs goes, "If you can't eat it or fuck it... kill it").
Think "Mad Max" meets "The Hills Have Eyes", or something like that.
Frankly, for me, it's one of the more disturbing albums I ever heard, subject-wise ; the lyrics are grotesquely explicit in the other songs, though they're not exactly mild in this track, lol. This album is a horror movie for the ears.
You don't find the concept of cannibalism and brutal violence disturbing, and say it's just a "laugh" and "harmless fun"? I'm not talking about SONGS about them, pal, I mean the actual concept itself. Well, let me tell you something, "mate", you sound like a twisted sociopath, and maybe we oughta round up sickos like you and throw you all in a locked room without food and water and watch how long it takes til you resort to that kind of "harmless fun".
What say you to that, "mate"?
It's mentally disturbed people like you that have this world so fucked up.
I'm only about halfway through but I don't understand what sori is trying to say about why she hates men. She kept saying I don't think that most men... and then she never finished the sentence. She was saying she doesn't like violence and then was complaining that men she knew were soft. What exactly was the point she was trying to make?
Finally it has come to pass! All hail the STEELE !
Peter's lyrics on carnivore were a social satyr about everything humanity has exposed through history.
Vin is such a stone age man. And also not all of Peter Steeles lyrics are of his personal beliefs
Crossover thrash never been this good
A lot of crossover thrash is really lame. It's a difficult genre to get right.
Nuclear Assault, D.R.I, EvilDead, Cryptic Slaughter are the best crossover bands for me.
Actually, "Retaliation" (1987) was Carnivore's crossover album. Their debut is pure Venom. No wonder Venom's Jeff Dunn produced it. And I still haven't seen people talk about the huge influence Venom had on Peter's music... I mean, compare "Black Metal" (the song) to "Prelude to Agony" from "Slow, Deep and Hard".
Yes. Peter is the worlds best troll. He was a genius!
Americans and Irony. Lol
No offence meant by the way
Carnivore same title album is an amazing album, to understand its lyrics you guys need to listen the whole album because to certain level it is like a concept album, songs like predator, carnivore, male supremacy .....ending with world war 3 and world war 4, the songs talk about the decadence and destruction of mankind. I remember buying the record when I was 14 years old and head banging to those tunes and then when I decided to pay attention to the lyrics I was like...this band is so bad ass, they were singing about what I guess what was going around at the time, I wasn't paying attention to politics at that age though, but they wrote about the future for example race war or USA for USA both from the great second and final album. They were never endorsing their lyrics, you can hear and feel the angry and pain when singing and playing those songs. Good reaction , greets from the UK \m/
Peter Steele was a genious!!
In the beginning....hard lyrics....BUT...you must hear the complete album...it discribes a post nuclear world, NOT our world ! The last song of this album was World Wars III and IV...but it should be the first song...all other songs are to play AFTER this song! It describes a postnuclear world like in many movies!!!
Celtic Frost - Synagoga Satanae
Celtic Frost - Ain Elohim
In the late 80's, my neighbors hated this album.
Took it to school once, was told never to bring it again.
🤘Quickest click! Love Carnivore! The moment Sori realizes its Peter, lol. Now easier to inderstand his irony? Truly an amazing guy. Great dark humor and offending idiots is awesome. Twas one to be quick to defend a woman in need. And few would stand against him, lol.
Funny Vin gets Peter more than Sori at this moment. Stop woman-splaining (lmao) many many real respectful men that take a stand against the soft minded jerks out there that would cause real harm against an innocent woman. Even the not so innocents. And yes many girls would not question their mans infidelity. Beyond primitive thinking, many are just so low on themselves.
Norwegians were ahead of most in many ways. Saw men & woman more equal. Still more like today with the wanderer. Yet, If a husband mistreated his wife she could divorce him and take everything. Vin gets it more with raging hormones also hindering girls some too. That is superior realizations.
ANOTHER amazingly awesome review. Thanks
Wow!!!! Awesome !!! Great stuff!!
I haven't even watched yet, but I already know 😆
ALL Carnivore, and at least half of Type O is troll. If you don't learn that, you're gonna have a bad time.
I know this was years ago but I just found it. To help you guys understand this tune better it is about Vikings. Listen to the words with that in mind and you'll hear he references. As matter of fact I notice that a lot of reactors take metal song literally when many of them are simply story telling
Never be scared to be a man the way you want to be. We fight wars, we build houses, we build roads etc. Sad but true. Women can get their velvet knickers in a twist for this but this is the truth.
I love your videos, guys! Keep on it :) I hope you love what you do, cause I sure do.
Hahaha. Love you guys!! Cause it's REAL. Vino you're RIGHT brother deep down inside they think and they wanna know can my man handle his business!!
sorry to comment again but I think the point is that the rape is not the same thing as making love it is for inflicting pain and horror on the enemy and asserting power and dominance , it is deliberately described as rape not sex and even women like my mom points out that rape is not always a sexual act it is a violent act . and especially in military's cultures like the one described her which is clearly northern European or Central Asian (Mongols ,Vikings, Huns , Sarmatians etch ) rape was used as a form of military strategy to instill horror and a loyal soldier would have to obey their king or khan which the song directly alludes to when he says I do it for king and country
Moonspell - Full Moon Madness
Moonspell - Night Eternal
Seen moonspell open for typo!!
I like how the protagonist does battle and kills then bangs his chick then is like, "later, I gotta go battle!"
this is the finish of the Vin and Sori's channel xD
Bahahaha that double bird from Sori. 😂
HA!.. As soon as I saw this requested jam, I said "Ohh Boy.... There is gonna be good Vin and Sori talk on this one"
This song unironically rules.
Fuck the concept of toxic masculinity. This is top tier workout and ass kicking music.
You'd probably get a kick out of Angry Neurotic Catholics by Carnivore
Imagine they do sex and violence.... if you cant eat it or fuck it than kill it... :D
@@jensbaumann6945 then kill it please.
She was SO triggered lol
carnivore is challenging for women. the 2 albums are very post apocalyptic returned to might makes right story telling. its aside of men that both attracts and repels women because we fear being the first woman and crave being the second one.
At the deepest darkest core of every woman, there is a part of her that LOVES to see men exhibit that aspect of maleness (which has been disparagingly labeled by SJW snowflakes as "toxic masculinity"), where they demonstrate their physical brute strength and prowess.
Whether that's fighting or accomplishing other feats of strength, the reason women enjoy seeing it is cos it taps into their most primal sensory perceptions, which tells them, THIS is a REAL man : a good protector, defender, and provider - and that is how women choose a good mate - that's the "security" motivator women seek from men.
Nowadays, in this "more civilized" world, where physical conflict and fighting is discouraged, "security" comes in the form of which man makes the most money.
However, there's still a deep-seated desire to know that if there was a threat, particularity a physical one (intruders, attackers, etc), then the man can provide more than just money - he can kick ass if it is necessary.
As Negan (from The Walking Dead) said, "If you don't protect what's yours, sooner or later, it becomes someone else's".
And sometimes, "protecting what's yours" can sometimes mean having to literally fight (possibly to the death) for it.
Sori, you need to relax - you got way too emotionally riled up over the lyrics.
First of all this is JUST A SONG.
Secondly, it's a song that is TELLING PART OF A STORY (which makes up the concept of the album) of a very harsh and violent scenario (past, present, or future) ; as I stated in a previous comment, this song is from a concept album about a post-apocalyptic world in nuclear fallout, where survivors are divided between regular humans who must hide and survive underground, and the surface-dwelling mutants that have reverted into primal savages and barbarians who engage in cannibalism and carnal pursuits (eat, fuck, kill), and hunt the underground survivors as sources of food and for fucking.
It's a horrific vision, but, so is any horror movie.
This song is NOT some commentary on modern male chauvinist attitudes or other validation of sexist misogyny.
EXACTLY THIS.
Thank you!!!
Well said!
Shut up, Meg
@@313bootboy6 LOL, Family Guy reference? I don't watch that show, but I pick up a few odds & ends via memes and shit, so I am just guessing that's what you're hinting at...

A little reminiscence of that peter's attitude appears in seals and crofts cover song named summer breeze done by Type O Negative. Check IT out, it's really romantic and atmospheric, very Type O song👍 and of course there is the other version, more chauvinistic in summer girl, also by Type O😁🤭
This is the best song ever.
ahahhahha todays laugh..made my day
Haven't been watching videos from your channel for almost a month now (13 Nov), but I've not quit either, so at least today, I watched this. _Interesting._ Yeah. Good conversation, if a bit long...
Oh FUCK yeah! Love me some Carnivore! Pure don't give a shit metal!
Hail carnivore!!!
I invite you to dig a little more about Pete's family anecdotes : At one occasion, his sister dropped by his home and once she picked up the phone, he was asking her to check some closet (which she opened only to find out a enourmous pile of bin bags filled with stained cardboard plates) and if she could get rid of what was inside. He did actually get a roasting from her and was ashamed of himself like a little child.
As you can see, "typical macho toxic guy" :p
its _Cat supremacy_
you have to replace _male_ with _cat_ and _woman_ with _human_ in the lyrics
then listen to the song by imagine a cat live
*Human will never know nor understand the power cat feels to kill with bare hands* ^^'
You have to see the album as a post apocalyptic soundtrack. Just to pick one song and to criticise it is wrong. Try to dive into the lyrics and music of the complete album to see the movie to it, the vision Peter Steele wants to transmit to it‘s listeners how our future could be. At the end, how „educated“ we are today, it doesn’t change how brutal we still are. He has a special kind of humor and a lot of people don‘t get it. CARNIVORE at all is a concept band, see also „Retaliation“ album. He made always a good job and he was master provocateur. That made him famous. Rock in Heaven, Pete.

Were you guys into metal BEFORE this channel? Because you guys don't seem to know that much about it. An example: the last two of three Carnivore reviews, I've heard the question: "Is that the guy from Type O Negative?"
BTW: Peter Steele is NOT the Type O guy. The guy from Type O is Pete Steele, the Carnivore guy.
Not sure if you guys know this but Peter Steele from type o negative was was the singer of this band, definitely had a different style
thank you for doing Carnivore

Awesome review check out Carnivore Race War. And i’m still waiting patiently for Divine Heresy Facebreaker
Nocturnal Depression-Nostalgia!!!
Peter Steele's bands: Fallout > Carnivore > Type O Negative (originally named Subzero). Pete's work always had this weird juxtaposition of brutal social, political, psychological, and historical commentary combined with a toungue-in-cheek attitude. That attitude became more serious and honest with each album. This song is literally about the Duality of Man, in and out of war. It's meant to be shocking.
RIP Pete
12:30 For the fireworks 😂
my take on this ever since I was 15 when I heard it was that men and or male aggression can be totally out of control, we need women to temper ourselves
Might = Right. Get use to it. It never left. The mighty happen to civil in this era. Thats all.
This escalated quickly. 😂
i don't think this either parody or serious it is literally a Robert e howard story brought to life . and every part of this is semi ironic but the point is Conan the Barbarian it is not trolling it is a year after the movie came out Peter Steele was heavily into bodybuilding and stuff he was huge into this . This guy can fight and he is doing It as a soldier the point is the horror of war and that in some cases men can be in love with warfare but still try to be a loving husband and father watch the Hurt Locker
True! Seems like no one gets the point. It's not that difficult😂
Ding ding ding!!! We have a Winner!!!
CARNIVORE had an ongoing theme of post apocalyptic barbarians.
Great song , Great Album!!! stop reading into the "toxic" BS

Hahaha Hey Sori and Vin I read the Peter Steele biography (Soul on Fire), you should read it too. It seems like you are very interested in his lyrics and music, I am sure you gonna like it. You have to understand that at that time Peter was just an angry and depressed guy and wanted to shock people with his lyrics. First Carnivore album was about a fantasy apocaliptical world were termonuclear warriors habit the planet. It is a little bit like madmax. They used to dress like warrios on stage and throw animal meat into the audience. It would have been insane to go to a Carnicore concert hahaha. In the background Peter Steele was married to Donna and living a happy marriege, going in to the woods and doing picnic with her, totally contraditory with his lyrics. Peter indeed have some controversy right wing thoughts, and you can see that clearly on the second Carnivore album, were he writes much more about problems of the real world and let the termonuclear thing behind. But the most of his lyrics is just pure provocations
El final epico , se la paseooo , jajajajaja!!
This was Jay's pick lol
Sori -Your Funny - Nice one
I don’t know, but I fairly certain these guys don’t read the comments. I feel if they did, they would have seen all the comments about Peter being in Carnivore after the Jesus Hitler reaction. 🤷🏼♂️
This song always made me LMAO. Romanticizing a brutal age of warfare, but in a post apocalyptic setting. "Provide, Protect, Procreate, our pledge to Women" aka, "Fighting, Feasting, Fucking"
Love when it dawned on her its Peter 🤣🤣
"No one loves a warrior until the enemy is at the gates"
male supremacy is real. just ask gillette.
The song is obviously sarcastic and the mid-song melodic part is to make it clear it is so. They're talking about men in the cromag days. lol
it's very representative of the modern world. it's all true.
