Well I saw Ritchie Blackmore "fire" a guitar tech on the spot at a show in Stockholm. The guitarist of another band stepped in as temp tech. If you work with the best musicians you have to deliver. He did not insult or throw fingers, just immediately made clear it was over for him.
So you just never fix what was wrong with the guitar? Theres is probably a reason why he had to tune it, but there was no reason to be loud enough to disrupt the show of other band.

This is completely typical and normal and unavoidable doing festivals, you have to line check and as i say, Daves's own backline crew would have done this themselves that day.
