    Hope this message finds you in good health. Thanks for the recipe. I made it and the dough was absolutely everything good! It was so soft and buttery. I used less water probably about 1/4 -1/2. Husband and neighbors loved them. This is the recipe. Thanks ⭐

    So I’m currently making this recipe and I only used a little water to get the dough texture. Is the full cup needed?

    • @STIRTASTEADJUSTwithRESA
      @STIRTASTEADJUSTwithRESA  Год назад

      Pastry Dough:
      Thanks for that question, and for trying my version of the Jamaican Patties recipe.
      Traditional Ratio: 1:2 (e.g., 1 cup of water for every 2 cups of flour)
      Metric Conversion: 125ml of water for every 250g of flour
      However, it's important to note that the amount of water required can vary depending on factors such as the humidity in your kitchen and the absorption properties of the flour you're using. It's always recommended to add water a little at a time and adjust the amount of water as needed.

    • @STIRTASTEADJUSTwithRESA
      @STIRTASTEADJUSTwithRESA  2 года назад +4

      Hi Clifton, Great question... Because I want to look fancy. Lol 😆 just kidding
      From research, I found out that lemon juice helps to lighten the dough, making it a more flaky texture and preventing it from becoming tough.
      If you're referring to the ice water, it helps keep the butter and shortening from scattering throughout the dough, which also helps keep the crust flaky.
      I have experimented without both, and the pastry wasn't the same.
      Hope I answered your question

  • @KBlessLiving

    Mannn if only I ate beef I'd so sold lol but u keep hitting pure nice things... no notice u didn't use any beef sweet I think they use to call it the fat in the dough... I use to hate the roll and fold roll and fold omg 😲 u make it look so easy lol 😆

    • @STIRTASTEADJUSTwithRESA

      Hi Mr bless wah gwan?
      The beef suet is not necessary, I always get a flaky crust using the butter and vegetable lard... No more roll and pull if you follow this recipe. Lol, 😆 I have a vegetarian patty recipe coming up so I know you will love that one. Blessings
