Hope this message finds you in good health. Thanks for the recipe. I made it and the dough was absolutely everything good! It was so soft and buttery. I used less water probably about 1/4 -1/2. Husband and neighbors loved them. This is the recipe. Thanks ⭐
I don’t normally comment. But this recipe is the one!! So straight forward. Finally my patties came out flakey!! My husband and son are pleased. Thank you. ☺️
Hey @demilpatterson5917, thanks for breaking your 'no comment' rule for me! 😄 I'm thrilled to hear that the patties turned out perfectly flakey and got the family seal of approval! Thanks for sharing your success!"
I have watched videos for a week now, trying to piece together to make the best I can for my addicted teenager LOL YOURS IS THE ABSOLUTE MOST SCRUMPTIOUS I HAVE SEEN!!! I will be doing it YOUR WAY from now on! Thank you!
I've been making beef patties for years but the recipes for the dough were never quite right. Yours looks so flaky and delicious just like I remember. I will definitely be trying yours instead. Thank you for such a detailed video!
The patties look so good, best I’ve seen on RUclips much better than the ones you buy in the supermarket here in 🇬🇧 I really liked how you broke down the video to show us how you made yours - visually it was very professional.
I have explored many Patty recipes on how to create a Crispy crust, your process and recipe seems to be the best, you actually bit in the patty and proved the crunchiness ❤ I will definitely try your recipe. BRAVO🇯🇲🇯🇲💯💯
Oh my God thank you so much I was putting the beef in the middle but the way you showed it it makes sense to put it closer to the edge thank you so much sweetheart for that 🫔🥟
I'm adding this video to my playlist. Those little gadgets work wonders, you just have to use less filling. I bought a set with 5 sizes some years ago and I use them for plantain tarts, coconut gizzada etc and I love them 🤗 think the brand was smart cook. Will let you know how my patties turn out.
That’s cool. How did it come out? I saw another guy use it on RUclips and they came out very good, I could definitely give that option a try but I don’t have access to beef suet
Pastry Dough: Thanks for that question, and for trying my version of the Jamaican Patties recipe. Traditional Ratio: 1:2 (e.g., 1 cup of water for every 2 cups of flour) Metric Conversion: 125ml of water for every 250g of flour However, it's important to note that the amount of water required can vary depending on factors such as the humidity in your kitchen and the absorption properties of the flour you're using. It's always recommended to add water a little at a time and adjust the amount of water as needed.
Great question Jessica. It's a scotch bonnet hot sauce I have the full ingredients in the description so you can check it out. Thanks for the question😊
@@STIRTASTEADJUSTwithRESA I would absolutely make it from scratch. if I truly have no other choice. I have done so before. It is a labor of love. I made sure to teach my young son how to make them as well.
Hi Clifton, Great question... Because I want to look fancy. Lol 😆 just kidding From research, I found out that lemon juice helps to lighten the dough, making it a more flaky texture and preventing it from becoming tough. If you're referring to the ice water, it helps keep the butter and shortening from scattering throughout the dough, which also helps keep the crust flaky. I have experimented without both, and the pastry wasn't the same. Hope I answered your question
Mannn if only I ate beef I'd so sold lol but u keep hitting pure nice things... no notice u didn't use any beef sweet I think they use to call it the fat in the dough... I use to hate the roll and fold roll and fold omg 😲 u make it look so easy lol 😆
Hi Mr bless wah gwan? The beef suet is not necessary, I always get a flaky crust using the butter and vegetable lard... No more roll and pull if you follow this recipe. Lol, 😆 I have a vegetarian patty recipe coming up so I know you will love that one. Blessings

So I’m currently making this recipe and I only used a little water to get the dough texture. Is the full cup needed?

What’s the yellow substance added to the beef?
Great question Jessica. It's a scotch bonnet hot sauce

Where are you located such that beef patties are not easily available ?
California... Patties are not readily available in my area Tony; you sound surprised. Furthermore, this recipe has helped many people, so it's win-win
I am sure the recipe is great. If I am desperate for a beef patty, I will go to a Dollar tree.
@@tonystorcke Ok, I didn't know they sold it. I will check it out. Thx. Question: are you saying you wouldn't make it from scratch?

Is it 1 cup of butter or Two the recipie says 1 but you say two
Hi @user-vq5ne9ic3w
Sorry about that - It should be 1 cup of butter.
I’m curious 🧐 why you use 🍋 💦.?
