As a Marxist I can explain what that is; it’s a kind of process that happens when people assign certain powers to products on the markets, so it makes them think that owning a certain product makes them stronger or better. So there’s something like a very strong desire towards wanting to own a certain product, for example an apple item or anything expensive.

I believe communism is a government system while Socialism is an economic system. Communism and Socialism vs. Democracy and Capitalism are the prevailing systems pairing.
China has redefined the terms as they are using capitalism as their economic system while the US "Democracy" is mixing up with socialism.

      Ownership:
      - *Capitalism* means employer ownership, meaning if a business is owned by the employer and the employer makes all the decisions, it's a capitalist business. If most of the businesses in a society are employer-owned, it's a capitalist economy.
      - *Socialism* means worker ownership, meaning if a business is owned by the workers who work there and the workers are the ones who make all the decisions on how to run a business(a worker cooperative), it's a socialist business. If most of the businesses in a society are worker-owned, it's a socialist economy.
      - *Communism* means community ownership, meaning if a business is owned by the entire community and the community decides how the business is run, it's a communist business. If most of the businesses in a society are community-owned, it's a communist economy.

@@vondoromal7016 Communism and socialism are economic democracies. If all the people own all the businesses like in communism or socialism, then all the people control the economy, if everyone has equal control and say over the economy, you have economic democracy.
Currently, under capitalism, almost all businesses are owned by employers, meaning only employers have a say in the economy, that's economic dictatorship.

while that is evident today the original text also points out the cycles that consumes the resources to the degree of people suffering, which is a known thing in economic circles. Therefore trying to understand the underlying cause let us understand the limits of capitalism and find a better answer (than communism). Depending which country you find an example of the best ones do use social dampening of harms.

ANY system developed and operated by humans will have problems and fail to serve everyone. Because humans are flawed, their systems will be flawed. Because human abilities vary, the outcomes of their actions will vary. Capitalism works better at providing for the most people because it relies on human nature. Marxism fails and ends up with millions dead because it does not understand human nature.
