I'm a liberal. I refuse to call myself a 'Democrat' because I never want to feel forced to vote for a candidate who's unfit to serve simply because he or she is a Democrat. For example, I'd much prefer a moderate like "the Governator" Mr. Schwarzeneggar over a total crook like Rob Blagoyovich.
In any case, our system REQUIRES each major party to have a viable, rule of law respecting, and LOYAL opposition party in order to prevent the other side from dragging the nation over the cliff from too much power. Look what a 6-3 majority of right wing EXTREMISTS has done to the SCOTUS!
And 'beliefs' are simply that: BELIEFS. They are not TRUTH. They are not FACTS. And in that respect, beliefs should NEVER be the foundation of good and just government. If one's beliefs cause them to be against abortion because a person BELIEVES -- based on no actual science or other knowledge -- that a fetus is a "living person," then they are at all times enjoy the freedom not to engage in the practice of aborting a pregnancy. That is something that is between them and their god, which is also just a BELIEF and not any proven or known existent thing. We will never agree on the existence of God or not, and not even which "God" is THE God, for crying out loud. But FACTS exist in this world, and those are things we must agree upon if we are to live together in peace.
If you’re truly republican, then you have to realize the left does not make distinction to you and other people on the right. They see all of us as enemies to be trampled on and silenced. The only politics that matter nowadays is friend/foe distinction. That’s it, the left does not care.

As someone who actually loves freedom, the whole being FORCED on people is the quickest way for me to despise something. I may disagree with people, hell even make fun of them, but I would never force anyone to believe in how I do.

As a younger person who cant vote yet I heard about protect 2025 and saw that it would impact my education so I decided to research it.This truly shakes me to my core I do not believe that just one religion should be projected onto the school System. This is terrifying and I'm truly afraid for the future of our country if project 2025 is enacted. 😔

I wasn’t born in this country but I loved the ideology of the forefathers that was based on Christian values. In my opinion I believe that most of the success of this country has lies on its conservative values.
People back in that time not all but the majority agreed gladly on Christian principles.

I am a conservative. I believe conservative ideals will save this country. Having said that, I vehemently oppose project 2025. As was said by a previous commenter, I don't want these ideals forced on anybody. In their literature, they say that winning elections isn't enough. I say this project is the path to authoritarianism. To my friends that oppose conservative ideals, I say let's talk, let's give and take. Let's make a country that we can all live in. Finally, my political philosophy is as follows. We all want the same thing. To leave a better country for our children. We just disagree about how to do it. Let's work together on those disagreements.

Any path that leads to taking away freedoms from the people is not a good thing. Now there are rules and laws about certain things that shouldn't be done, like murder, steal, etc because those infringe on another persons right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

It does not go anywhere near the truth about what they plan to DO TO people, and HOW they will strip away all voting rights from everyone who is not a white male. Everyone must realize that all the Anti-DEI laws DeSantis implemented go after people of color, sure, but the insidious hidden part is it attacks the rights of women and people with disabilities as well. Look at it with clear eyes. All their dislikes and policies are just like Hitler's. So many of them just haven't been stated exactly yet. DeSantis expanded his DEI dismantling again recently. He has taken over more colleges than New College and turned them into Hillsdale College and other right-wing religious disinformation education churns to teach all children from age 4 up to be religious right, white supremacy backing solidly republican. Project 2025 dismantles the DOE. They already started this - the voucher system. Convincing people is a great idea, when the fact is they funnel public, taxpayer funds to pay for vouchers, the goal is to pull everyone or a high majority out of public schools so they can then tell The People public schools are a drain on public funds, we are closing them. Just look at what DeSantis has done so far if you want proof.

We should keep in mind that even if the next president is not a republican, the next one or the one after that could be and all they need to do is to dust this plan off and maybe make some minor adjustments to it. I worry that we will see this enacted at some point.

We the people are meant to have the power. Gov employees work for us. And their Mandate literally will not allow anyone outside their political party to work for the government. How long before we will be allowed in schools, there won't be Aid for very long but anything that might help people won't be given to anyone not loyal to Trump either, whether they call it that or do like Trump did when he ordered the slowdown of getting passports to those from Afganistan, who helped us while we were there so they would not come thru before we finished pulling out. They were the people hanging from the planes, and why Trump bragged he was responsible, then tried saying it was Biden's fault. Technically, Trump didn't stop them from getting out, just made it impossible for them to get visas into here on time to get out, and made a deal with Isis behind their back they could do as they pleased with whoever got left.

Perhaps the word "conservative" should be replaced by the word "authoritarian". There is quite a lot in this blueprint that political conservatives of 20 or 30 years ago would find repugnant. Please do not ignore the sections of Project 2025 on education. They are devastating to current and future public education, including abolishing the Department of Education as a starter.

The criticisms of it are exactly what the democrats are doing by going after their political opponents. They're probably the ones criticizing it to begin with. He would appoint people to agencies who were opposed to the work of that agency. e.g., an oilman in charge of the Environmental Protection Agency. Sounds like the supreme court already started with some of the proposed subjects on 2025: to start presidential immunity, plus right for women to chose about their bodies, and they have also have restricted EPA's authority to fight air and water pollution.
Presidential immunity protects presidents past, present, and future. Unless you want to see Clinton, Bush, Obama, and Biden see jail time. As for women chosing what's happening to their bodies, for the exception of sexual assault, is more of a social issue than you think where it's better to get an abortion than making sure not getting pregnant in the first place. SCOTUS didn't restrict EPA's authority as it's making sure they have better oversight. If a city office has to go to their city council for any changes that directly affects the public, then so should a federal department go to a congression oversight committee.

I'm a Christian conservative. I've major concerns over abolishing abortion. Making abortion limited or illegal altogether will only create a garage industry out of abortion where we will see the re emergence of back ally and basement abortion clinics across the country. As per a moral right or wrong? The damage was done many, many years ago. Going backward will only make the issue much, much worse, and not only see the number of abortions to remain the same but add additional deaths of women seeking abortion from illegal clinics. We are at an empasant and should do anything to avoid making the situation worse. Make 3rd trimester abortions illegal again and possibly reduce the number of abortions an individual can get to reduce abortions as birth control. I think any life lost is abhorrent, but I just can't support risking more lives in an attempt to save them. This seems like shooting those who would commit suicide to prevent suicide.

The problem is that people like you don’t understand how the government work. The US government has check and balances that prevents many things from happening and it is done so to prevent a tyrannical government from forming.
With that said the Supreme Court ruled that the main federal government can’t impose any laws regarding abortion and that only states have the power over that issue, like they should. This mean that no president can’t do anything about abortion because it has been stated that the president has no power over that only the states can and the only way republicans could do anything about abortion is if they are in power and even if they did something about abortion it can be reverted if the people voted for the opposite in their state.
In the end you and everyone buying this project 2025 bs have nothing to fear because many of what’s in those documents can’t be challenged in the courts and can’t be applied because then the president would be over reaching his power and that can be easily challenged in court where there the president will fail, just like Biden did with the student loans.
President Trump has reiterated his view of leaving abortion issues with the states, local control is always best in my opinion.

As a Christian, I disagree with project 2025. Christianity isn't and should not be forced. It doesn't and cannot work that way. As a country founded on freedom, I am scared they are taking away checks and balances and replacing it with loyalists.

@sandponics At this point, that is a far better course of action than the ones we are presented with. I know in this video, she describes getting out there and voting and attending local hearings etc. But in reality, the only way that works is if enough of us do engage in that. Considering hardly anybody attends local hearings. And the fact that people are feeling less and less like their votes matter overall. We need unity and to end the petty bickering over whose policies are better or worse. I've found that when you actually sit down with people who you know have different views than you - you can find common ground more often than you realize. And that's a great stepping stone.

Project 2025 looks like an authoritarian cookbook, complete with ingredients and recipes.
There might be one or two things in there I agree with, but the rest will do far worse than merely taste bad.
That is to say, even if I could be convinced to agree with the principles (ingredients), which I don't, I can't agree with the approach (recipes).
Make no mistake; authoritarian governments are efficient. That's not the issue I have with them. It's getting rid of an authoritarian once they have consolidated power, and that's the problem. You can't vote an authoritarian out of office. Trump might have a chance of 20+ years left. However, someone will eventually replace him, and there won't be a way to vote that leader out of office.

You're assuming that Congress won't be swayed by the financial goodies offered up by the ruling class. I'm guessing that nine out of ten times, people will tend to take the cash (which they've been doing for a long time, anyway) and vote exactly how the oligarchs tell them.

That is why much of this is being done from the executive branch. It would end many departments and instill loyalists into the rest to alter and guide conservative policy. With the ending of the Chevron ruling, and weakened departments, corporations will have free reign.

This was a very informative and non bias explanation of Project 2025. While I strongly disagree with Project 2025 this type of information without partisan agenda helps to open discussion so that people can make their own decision and not be coerced to think one way or the other. Even Paul Dans has run away from the project and contrary to what trump says he fully endorses this type of authoritarian agenda.
