  • We review the NEW 2022 Royal Enfield Classic 350cc Motorcycle.
In this review we give you the essence of what it is like to ride, how it sounds, and how it handles. It's the next best thing to YOU actually riding the bike for yourself!
We look at the engine, gears, brakes, suspension seating and comfort, riding position, styling, ergonomics, design and features. What does the engine and exhaust sound like in stock form - just listen to this! We don't go into many specs in the video; just the important ones like power and torque. We recommend you look on Royal Enfields website in your own country to download the specifications, and watch our video to get an impression of what the bike is like in the real world.
Is it one of the best bikes in the World despite it being one of the cheapest?
It only has 20.2bhp and if you are wondering whether that is enough, watch the video all the way through to find out.

I am a Royal Enfield fan since the days it was an Indian lore legend, and so much happy to see the company grow and go global. This model combines pure classic looks and real world practicality, with a great price, winner all around. It is perfect lesson for other manufacturers on what motorcycles should be. Not sure the 20 bhp would suffice, but for most uses it probably will.

Had my classic 350 red & chrome for nearly a week now so still running in, but what a bike. After a break of 32 years I’m back in the iron saddle and I’m loving it. I passed my test on a DR 125, then jumped to a KLR650 - owned two of those, but felt I’d lost some of the fun and agility of my 125cc.
The classic 350 is already after only 200 miles giving me that feeling again, this is going to be a great bike to explore A & B roads burbling along with my wife on pillion - happy days ahead me thinks

You nailed the essence of this bike and what biking is for so many of us, particularly those of us above 60. In the States, there is such a shortage of these bikes for many years and many a young man went to his cold dark box because his first trip to the store resulted in a 100 hp 600cc sportbike he was ill skilled to handle. I saw this in the making one day when I went to the local Honda/Kawasaki dealer for some spray polish. I mom was signing on for a son's first bike, a 750 super sport. My God, what the hell were they thinking. And the salesman, he played right into the kids fantasy for a big sale. I gave the kid a 50% chance of sailing off a road airborne at 90 mph or more. The Japanese used to own this market with bikes like the CB350 twin, the 450 twin, Yamaha 500 single. Age and nerve damage have forced me to downsize from mighty touring machines to a 250 and 150 scooter. But I want a motorcycle that feels proper. So Royal Enfield here I come as the only choice in America. American riders of the baby boom generation are aging and downsizing. The manufacturers just don't get it that we don't want an 800lb behemoth liter bike anymore that we can't push around our garage. I hope the classic makes it over the pond. But nothing wrong with the Meteor. Keep up the great reviews.

They are out of control and often hurt other innocent motorists. They are the ones I get angry for, the riders I chalk up to Darwinism.

I bought my First Motorcycles back in 1968-69 , first a 1965 French made 50cc Mobylette followed soon after by a 350 Royal Enfield Bullet made in the Mid 1950's. At the time back then I was still in High School and Economically disadvantaged so both bikes were of the " Fixer up" variety. I learned a lot about Motorcycles with these machines. Just simple fun - like wot biking used to be before we got hoodwinked that we needed 150bhp - and then got further hoodwinked that we needed abs, traction control, gyroscopic inverters etc etc blah blah in order to tame the said 150bhp. (Yeah I got hoodwinked too). Not any more! But I won't be burning rubber - just gently warming it. Only downside to the bike is that I can't get the Heartbeat theme tune out of my head!

It's hard to see why people rave so much about this 20hp bike... until you ride it. It's remarkable, an entirely modern bike with a peach of an engine, a slick, precise gearbox, ABS disks, and very well set up suspension. Yet it retains all of the fun and character of older Royal Enfields, without any of the foibles. I'm loving mine, which has replaced both an 2008 500 AVL Electra, and a BMW F800GS. It's _precisely_ the right amount of bike to have fun on, as you get to use every bit of the performance. Royal Enfield have absolutely nailed it.

I've ridden my friend's Bajaj Dominar 400 which can cruise at 130-140 easily and handles wonderfully but still felt uncomfortable at those speeds. 80-100 kmph is the sweet spot for me so this bike is very tempting.

I absolutely LOVE my Classic 350. I commute to work on it every day, and I recently did a road trip on it (back roads with speed limits of 45 or 55 MPH, to keep off the 75 MPH freeways) from Dover NH to Philadelphia PA - 914 miles round trip, and it performed absolutely brilliantly. Comfortable, easy to handle, great gas mileage - I LOVE this bike.
I've added a tail rack and pannier bags to mine.

Some of your earlier reviews were a bit too flashy for my liking but this one is so well done, spot on, no music, no chatting while driving, it's one of the best reviews I've seen here on RUclips. I've forwarded this to many friends. Your refinement of style has really matured. With that said I had seen one of these in the past, admired it greatly, and now because of your review, I'm looking forward to owning one someday. Your comments about the UK licensing process (calling it Nanny): I wish we had that same system here in the U.S., I've seen two of my friends seriously injured and die in crashes because when they got their license they immediately went out and bought the most powerful bikes they could find (crotch rockets). If we had that sort of licensing system here these two might have had a chance and it's probably saved some lives in the U.K. too. Anyway, thank you for taking the time to do such an awesome job on this review and thank you for pointing out that you're not a paid advertiser and giving your honest opinion. Keep up the good work.

Thanks in particular for touching on the mudguards efficacy, as I live down a muddy gravel lane so the thought of washing the entire bike after every quick spin puts me off riding more than it should! There's quite a few retro style scrambler bikes on the market, but all of them have stumpy little front mudguards that detract from otherwise looking like a practical machine (to me at least). Also as a fellow 6'2"er, thanks for providing your height!

Again great review. I didn't think 20bhp was enough but finally decided to have a test ride on a meteor (3hrs) and was surprised by how well it kept up with UK traffic on A and B roads. It even managed 70mph on dual carriageway, 2 up, but slowed a little on hills. The handling improved even more 2 up around the bumpy back lanes, I was bracing for wallowing etc but it just glided over the rough surfaces, even better than my old (2002) triumph trophy. The limiting factor was more wind pressure than the engine. I've never owned or ridden a 4 stroke single before and it really impressed me plus has a great exhaust sound for a euro 5 machine. Flipped a coin between the meteor and the classic. Went with meteor and am now waiting for delivery..... Hopefully it will complement my triumph which is at the complete opposite of the scale, heavy, fast and great wind protection (and bloody warm on the hot summer days in traffic) as apposed to light and with plenty of cooling air for the good weather to come....

I agree totally about the mudguards too. The clue is in the name - they're supposed to stop everything getting covered in crud, which very few do nowadays. I personally love that colour scheme. I like the idea that the view ahead should be art, you have given me food for thought.
    Have fun and ride safe.

Thanks buddy. Yes it’s what we have to look at so it might as well be art 💯

I like this classic and the meteor. I'm also interested to see Honda is bringing the iconic DAX back after 41 years, although slightly modernised like the monkey, and the super cub. I'm also 6'2", so it's great to be able to see how these bikes would fit blokes our size. You're right about not worrying about what you look like if the bike is comfortable to ride. I think that's a really good point. Your videos are very professional, informative and always very interesting to watch. Thanks.

Great review again thank you. I have been waiting for this one since the 350 classic has come out, being around your size it’s of particular interest to me. The way things have become in the world makes this bike a great choice for my advancing years. I really like the Halcyon Green version, although all the colours have something about them. I will certainly have to check one out when I get the chance, the type of bike you don’t mind down sizing to because it has so much going for it.

Great review, thanks. Lovely bike and I am so glad RE have brought out a classic version of the 350, most of the roads in South Wales are strangled with speed restrictions (sometimes for good reason) there is no need for anything bigger/faster unless you want to sit on a boring motorway all day (at 70 of course 😊). Having said that, I am looking forward to the Rebel 1100 review, though I am guessing that will be more low down grunt than top speed 😊

The Rebel will be on next week. We're half way through with it.

Fantastic review!!! I own a cbr250r and I was wondering if I should get something more powerful but like you said, being realistic and close to my 50's there is no need for more. Just something that you can go slow and people can look at. I love this bike and i think you've just sold me one 🙂. Greetings from Norway!

Mate, I've worked in Norway big time, and your speed limits and the way cyclists and buses rule the roads, anything more powerful than a Classic 350 would just be completely frustrating to ride! Now, for 6 months a year, Norway is the perfect place for relaxed riding!

@@eddyhoughton6542 it is true about the speed limits, cyclists and buses 😂👍. This year I don't know if about climate change, just luck or living in the Stavanger area, I have been riding even on winter days 👍 weird times we live now so might as well enjoy 😉👍. Cheers!

Love your reviews. I am in the Southern U.S. and I am 6'5" and 280 pounds seeking my first bike. I have had such a difficult time finding bikes in my price range that can also fit me. So seeing you, who I am built very similar to, testing bikes gives me great indications of what I should be able to fit on and ride for 8 miles one way as my daily rider. Keep the videos coming!
