Nice to see our South African techniques getting used around the world and working. Using our style rods and reels and dingles in Norway to the Australians using our sliding technique for live baits. Great stuff Billy.

That was a tough amount of fishing you put in for so little but you tried for us 😊 That mackerel was a chunker but I'm seeing ones bigger than that this time of year in the UK but that's not putting yours down atall. Your the man Billy and you make me chuckle 😂
I visited Vega i the start of august, great fishing and beautiful area, we got like 18 species including halibut and wolf fish, I will definitely be back there again
Mackerel saves the day/video! Just had a grooler in North Wales trying for black bream, howling wind and rain and just one little bream! And then like you the mackerel showed up and put smile on my face 😁 Nothing like the size of the Norwegian beasts but tasty dinner tomorrow! 😉🎣👍
Hi Damien. The fishing is so bad, I have headed further north in the hope of catching something decent. the people here have the similar story as I, and many others. Boat or shore. Let's hope something changes. Thanks Brother 😁👌
@@Billyfishing_watch when I was in Havøysund in July the best spot we found for halibut was in 40/50m! Maybe look for some deep water within casting distance mate????
Hi Ciaran. The fishing is so bad here right now! Today I was catching coddling, write on the top of the water. Just like mackerel, things are just crazy right now.
nice catches and funny as always. I watch every video and I dont even fish in salt water :D but please keep the wind sounds in next time. we can still undstand everything and its part of the atmosphere. at least I like it.
I hear what you're saying! But the wind noise was far too much! And was really annoying, and if you're watching on a mobile phone. For some people it's a painful experience! I don't normally film in such high winds. So generally it's not a problem. But I am glad you like it anyway. Thanks Brother 😁👌

They weren’t playing for you in this session mate, I guess the weather had something to do with that. Mackerel was acting like a marlin tail walking 😂, stay safe brother 🤘🏼🤘🏼
Nice video as always Billy. A small tip from me when it comes to fishing wolfish. Use coalfish as bait instead of mackerel. The wolfish seem to love coalfish. At least here in Norway. I have caught LOTS of wolfish from both the shore and from boats in Norway and coalfish is clearly a better bait for wolfish in my experience. Coalfish is always my go to bait when fishing for wolfish If I am just fishing for whatever there might be, I often fish with one hook with coalfish and one with herring or mackerel as bait. Specially when fishing new places. And when I have caught wolfish those times, I think I have caught them 9/10 times on the coalfish bait. I have no written record to say it is exactly that number, but I don't think it is far off.
There are some chunky Mackerel around now, been regularly catching the 40cm+ ones in the Trondheimfjord, my bait freezer is filling up for targeting Cod when winter comes, but the really big ones at 50+ are eluding me. But i am 100% sure they are swimming around out there! Who catches one first, will it be you, or me? Time will tell! Tight lines!🎣
I wonder 😅 I'm sure we'll find out though brother! There are so many of them, there is something strange going on! When the only God face you can catch is a mackerel. Tight lines Brother 😁👌
They are in actual fact notoriously difficult to target! Even from boats. And anybody who says they know how it works, are deluded! Very few catches are purposeful. Thanks Brother, much appreciated 😁👌
Yeah, I can't say I've ever had one tbf. I'veseen one caught at saltstramen. I'd say they were more of a by catch than a target species. It's good to see you trying for anything as long as it involves norway tbh, my favourite place 😊
