You have really become my new favorite fishing channel, i live in denmark and have fished in norway 4 times amd every time ive used your tips and tricks, got a nice halibut this summer because of your tips and tricks! i plan to go there and fish from my fishing kayak for halibut in lofoten next time
Hi Pete! Everything is wrong up here, but maybe it will get better. It seems like everybody is suffering these days. I hope the mud pigs are treating you well brother 😁👌
Nice one mate glad to see you are starting to find a few fish again! It's definitely been a funny 2 years weather and fishing wise definitely something to do with the last El Nino! On the plus side though I've just had a couple of days in Cornwall and had a day on the Blue Fin Tuna and they were everywhere, at least something likes the warmer water! We had 8 on the boat and I I got my first one at roughly 200lb, happy days! Let's hope the weather sorts itself out and fishing improves?? I believe next year in Norway halibut are catch and release only and a smaller quota of fish for the tourist anglers! 😉🎣👍
Nice work Billy, cracking cod, hopefully a taste of things to come. Should have chucked one straight in the middle of that rainbow 🌈, maybe a big halibut there 😂. Appreciated as always brother 🤘🏼🎣
Hurray Billy's back 🎉 well done my man two nice cod to get stuck into. Very unlike you to not be spot on with your tackle 'missed butt ring' but hey we are all human brother 😊😁
Hi Adrian. Considering how much I fish! And how many videos I've made. Missing one stripper guide, is not such a big deal! Glad you liked the video, thanks Brother 😁👌
love ur videos n great humour too,ur put out more videos than the other spinning people i watch i do like ur bait 1s too but doing bait is boring i need to be doing sumthing.it's better than I did today u hook a seatrout n lost it n that was it for days fishing but that's fishing
@@Billyfishing_watch this year was hard. The fall fishing has started now. Flat fish and codling on sea. And big pike in freshwater. Last week a beast pike. 105 cm.
Meant to say i was watching a guy from the Philippines who discussed two split rings to reduce the chance of levering off the heavier jigs. Or he uses a swivel with one big ring one small ring in place of the solid ring. Sold for carp rigs here in uk
I have tried that in the past, with the action I give the jigs sometimes it tangles! Twice in a lifetime isn't that many so I'm not too worried about it.
top content ! thanks I would love to be fishing in that deep water , we have small to medium mackerel chasing whitebait up the beach the last week , cheers brother
Wonder if the mackerel will be larger than average if they are staying around for longer? Nice couple of cod. Good pointers on the casting side of things Billy, its not just a bait on a surf rod that can belt a few mtrs out.👍
I don't think so. This is just an opportunity for the commercials to finish them off! I can see them working very hard, unfortunately for the mackerel. Thanks Brother 😁👌
I have been following the 10lb per ounce idea for leaders and tend to add 10lb for safety. So my heaviest jig is 100gram i keep my leader to 50lb max. Is there a reason, other than size of fish you might hit why you have got the leader size you have? And does your tippet fluro/mono always come heavier than the leader??
With a bigger jig! Comes the chance of a larger fish. And with it more problems, like abrasion for instance. And I have lost many fish due to this factor over the years. So 100 jig I will use 80, 80g 50lb, 60g 40lb. Going lighter will not help in any type of way! There is very little white light where these fish are feeding, and the chances of them seeing the leader is practically zero! But they will run you into a rock , and cut the leader.
@@gp4103 sometimes the cod bite through 40lb leaders! Not too often but it does happen. This is just one example of abrasion, and I haven't even factored in sharp rocks yet!
@@Billyfishing_watch I've lost some jigs on my LRF kit with 5lb fluro when it's initially felt like a better fish. But if I step it up too high and snag I tend to break at the braid join and leave a length of leader
@gp4103 fluorocarbon is quite brittle! And I don't like it for this reason. Maybe just change to mono instead. I have lost a lot of great fish because of fluorocarbon
Any recommendations on clothing billy for not being cold and went. I’m in the south coast of Ireland. Obviously you get extreme weather there so wondered if you could offer some info on suites etc
@IanEvans-j2m ok, follow the link I did a review on a soft shell jacket! They're not bad for the money. But they need to be treated after they are washed or have become dirty!
Talk about bath water its stupid warm even here in Canada right now. I went out last weekend and the water was 22 celcius! Last weekend of September and lakes usually start to freeze by end of October... also Lake Superior was about 5 degrees warmer than last year. Throwing the fish right off!
It's a complete mess Joe! Today the air temperature was minus 2 degrees Celsius, the water temperature was 14 degrees Celsius. I don't know what is going to happen this autumn. And honestly I'm getting a bit nervous.
Dear brother, do you live in Norway, or do you have an awful lot of time to go fishing? I appreciate your videos and wish more people could see them before they come on a fishing visit to Norway.
Worse year yeah. Tens of thousands of tourists fishing along the coast and off the coast either with boats they put on a trailerhitch or blow up or toutistfishingcompanies does not play a part to this at all. Its because a big storm somewhere. The "logic" is incredible.
I did think so myself as I'm not the best lover of normal cod but really enjoyed the red one I caught. Fishing is OK over here but definitely not as good as it should be.
By far the best fishing YT channel, by a country mile.
Wow! Thanks Brother, much appreciated 😁👌
