It’s been a while since I saw a fishing vid of Billy. Anyways after I started watching you’re videos it has inspired me to travel around Norway to fish for different arts. I’m planning on going to different countries later. And I can say with certainty that these type of video has given me a heads up om many different things. Keep it up Billy👍
Just catching up on your videos billy, great stuff mate, love to explore new marks, got my eye on a couple of new one's ,heading out to norway in a couple of weeks, good luck billy 🇳🇴😉👍
Another belter Bill. And I love the tackle talk. Fascinstes me the way you set up, I guess time and experience gets you to know these things! Keep at it brother, see you on the beach
Wow you had to work hard for those fish !!!! So sometimes fishing can be hard there !!! Still interesting video thanks for your efforts Billy and good luck for next time bud
It is easy to find smile to medium fish, but it's always difficult to find the big ones! What day are there, unlike most other countries. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Nice pollocks Billy 😂... Sorry 😂. The red cod was a lovely fish too... What a place it is there...And thanks for sharing it... Look forward to Sunday nights mate...
Hysterical and beautiful Arctic fishing adventure.. Some desert boys in Utah State have not seen the varmint that makes mysterious holes in the rocks and sandstone cliff landscapes. I think you may have encountered a leader snipping yet unseen distant cousin to the Diamond Billed Rock Pecker
I knew it was one of those! I was just afraid to say, just in case people laughed at me 🤣 but this far north, I think it was the lesser spotted diamond bill rock-pecker 😂 thanks Brother 😁👌
Cheers billy mate , maybe think a seal had the lure and the mackerel possibly attached to it too ? quite strange and unexpected for you brother . efforts appreciated as always 🤘🏼🎣👍🏼
You did it again Billy ! Excellent film 👏👏. I’m going to say the fish you lost your lure to was a 20lb hake 😂… might as well exaggerate the situation eh 🤣🤣
Hi there Bily from the Netherlands, I love your no-nonsense video style. I do have a question for you. I watched a few of your vids (binge watching them) and noticed that you dont have a lot of halibut vids on there. Is this because theres a certain season to fish for them from the shore? I really enjoyed the ones where you fished for them and hope for a few more in the future. We dont have halibut here and unfortunately im not able to travel to norway or another country to go fish for them so im stuck with the vids of fishing for them. Anyways keep up the great vids man, your fishing channel rocks (from the Norway rocks :D)!
Hi bud. As it goes catching halibut from the shore is quite a difficult task! And as far as shortcut halibut videos, I probably have more than anybody else! That being said, the best time of year to catch them is November into December. Glad you liked the videos, thanks Brother 😁👌
Billy, have you considered looking at navigation charts when fishing unknown areas like these ? They will usually give you an accurate guide to the water in front of you before you make your first cast ....... Regards, and good luck.
Billy, thank you for your link to the earlier video. At the risk of being annoying, are you using charts derived from Admiralty charts - which would normally show the type of bottom - or an alternative publisher ? Sorry, a yachtsmans questions ...... Best regards
@ourfarmhouseinspain I don't feel the need to go too in depth about it, so close to the shore the charts are fairly vague. And I can tell what the bottom is like just from the markings on the charts themselves. Apps are very convenient, and get the job done!
Hi billy love the videos mate was wondering how often you go to norway and if you just take holidays there the fishing looks great im from north east england and best cod ive had is 2 pounds haha
There great mate love the vibe and the fishing hopefully going to have a trip to Norway at some point do you just drive over and stay somewhere really interested in going but not sure how to go about It
@dannyladd234 my situation cannot be applied to yours! Because I am a content creator and earn some of my living through RUclips. The easiest way for you to visit Norway, is to hire a guide, or rent a car and just drive around and fish! Bodø is a great place to start, and many people from the UK do exactly that!
Thanks for your help Billy will definitely look into it fishing is my escape been watching you for years now hope you keep growing absolutely love the videos keep it up mate
Hi Billy! Nice content as always. I was wondering if its possible to use Kevlar braid instead of mono? Ok , its more expensive but it will save you some jigs, they have a decent price on it on Temu or Ali, just a thought. Cheers from Sweden
Hi. I understand where you're coming from, but it doesn't work this way! Heavy mono will always be the best choice, it's not just for abrasion it is to trick the fish as well. Kevlar works well for things like assist cord! For hooks. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Nice video! Was that 9,6’ you had the 6000 reel on? I have a 9’ medium heavy rod 20-100g looking for a reel for it, considering the 6000HG for lures like you. How is the balance, if you want recommend me reel size 🎣
Hey, brother. IF, toward the end of the video, you were cut off by a toothy fish instead of a rock, could it possibly have been a wolffish? I know that there are plenty of these in Norway and that they're often caught by anglers seeking cod, halibut, pollock, etc. However, the wolffish are generally found in depths of 20 meters and more. Still, one of them could have followed your stainless "knife jig" from the deeper water to the shallows right in front of you before striking (as did some of the pollock you caught). Just a thought, Chris (in Maine, USA)
Hi Chris. It definitely was not a wolf fish! They never feed on the surface. It was most probably a large mackerel, and the leader got caught on a rock! I guess it was just wishful thinking on my part. thanks Brother, glad you liked it 😁 👌
Yes you do! But mostly in the south, and not all that often. I have caught them in Sicily, natural effect they are actually mackerel! And not tuna as some people think. But the mackerel get big and very fast up here, and I think it just caught the leader on a rock. Thanks Brother 😁👌
So I noticed that you don't have any videos from Iceland or Greenland? Is it the cost of getting there? Maybe we should start a get Billy to really good cod fishing fund if so. Or do you go there and don't take us along because we'll all want to go there? A local you tuber from my end of world went to Greenland this year and his goal was acrtic char, but he couldn't pass up the numbers of cod in easy reach.
Greenland is a huge problem, because you can't get a vehicle there. And this makes fishing extremely expensive. But I would like to go someday. But I can catch cod here , halibut too. Also the fishing is better than Iceland as well. I'm not saying I wouldn't want to, but it's just not feasible. Thanks Brother 😁👌
Hey man. Im just wondering, would it not make sense to have your main line heavier than your leader? So if you get snagged, your leader will break first? It's probably a dumb question, but I'm new to this!
@@Billyfishing_watch I was going for 1st, 2nd and 3rd but for some reason the algorithm didn't take the 3rd. Its just me and my inferiority complex Billy.
Great video,, But,, we don't need to know what tackle you use,,We know 😮,, . I like T see you catch fish. When you Hook-up that's when we all get excited 😊, So amazing to think that you could hook a MONSTER HALIBUT or massive cod, Fishing is fishing, if we cought every cast,,it would be called Catching 😅. Never the less I love your vlogs. And the scenery is amazing 😍. Thinking of moving out of England to where all the FISH 🐠 ARE.
Hi bud. When you say we, you speak for everybody! And that is not possible, some people like to know what fishing tackle I am using. That being said, I can see you really enjoy the videos. Thanks Brother, see you on the beach 😁👌
Thanks for the video Billy. Gave up shore fishing here in Ireland about a year ago, my stretch of coastline swept clean by euro trawling. I can't justify the effort and expense for no fish, so saving up to go to Norway instead. Picking up loads of tips in the videos, all the best bud.
It's a common although sad tale! Which I hear all too often. But I will say this, you will have no regrets about spending money to come to Norway. Thanks Brother 😁👌
