There are two eternal truths in Commander videos. 1) In all games that Serge participate in, he will draw the most heat by just being Serge; and 2) no one remembers to shuffle their X Sun's Zenith cards back into their libraries, when they cast them.
Only GSZ gets shuffled, the rest simply hit the bin.

same same!! I watch a lot of Commander content because it can be a lot of fun, but honestly, this has the least amount of toxicity with the Magic: The Gathering contect creators I love most.

@@frostownik I mean, that's not everything. I don't think there's any toxicity between, say, the members of the Command Zone, but their hyperbolic reactions and overedited style of their gameplay videos feels patronizing, like regular magic gameplay and table talk isn't inherently interesting enough on its own so they gotta jingle the keys to keep eyes on the screen.
People liking the game and each other is certainly a key aspect to creating chemistry and making a series work, but it's far from the only thing LRRMTG gets right.
Enjoyed it. Would have been nice if 2 of the players weren't effectively locked out (Grav Shift, mana issues).
Y'know, for the sheer enthusiasm Serge has for playing with wild brews, whether or not they blow up in his face, I'd put him in Izzet more than selysnea
He just as often, if not more, plays oppressive prisony decks or equipment, that's very White.

29:23 fun fact about gisa and geralf's family: Mikaeus (the bishop who puts +1/+1 counters on your stuff and more famously the zombie who grants all your nonhumans undying) is their distant relative! Their parents are definitely dead though. I'm not sure how they died but Gisa raised them as zombies.

On the subject of Gisa and Geralf, they had a short story during shadows block in which Gisa, as a stab against Geralf for being "mom's favorite," sends their mother as a messenger zombie to him over the course of their correspondence where they continuously try to one up each other.
This felt like the alternate timeline where everyone teams up against Nicol Bolas and still loses. Lmao. Ben went ham! (Elf ham, even!)
Dissenting Opinion - If you examine the mob farms Serge builds in Minecraft, you will discover that his best fit would be the Orzhov Syndicate.

I love my Emmara deck! Serge got shutdown hard though. Everyone having a 2 mana creature and he didn’t draw any of the ways to tap her without attacking, plus all those wraths. The deck has performed a lot better for me than it did here
Same the emmara deck can go wild fast i once have attacked with about 20 tokens in turn 5.
I recently had great success with Emmara. I got 8 tokens up to 11 power each in one turn, and OHKO’d the life-gain player across from me with 88 damage (then gained 33 life, because 3 tokens were the Lifelink Soldiers). My opponent took it well.
By the way Serge, give Emmara Presence of Gond, and gain two tokens per tap. It’s great. It’s how I built up my forces.

I love EDSC! I fell asleep watching the Canlander FNPF and was watching it when I woke up only to have RUclips announce this. I immediately slammed over here and smashed that like button.
We had Iron Commander (store hands out 3 random legends and you have 3 hours to dig through their chaff to build a commander deck) at our flgs this weekend and it attracted some new players. I mentioned LRR as content creators to watch and in particular Serge because he's so nice and really embodies knowing the rules without being a jerk and enthusiasm for the game.
That is such a good idea… where is this cool LGS that has Iron Commander? :)

I mean selesnya is less a welcoming community and more, you know, a cult. They've been playing this aspect down on the latest sets but originally they brainwashed and indoctrinated many of their followers, disallowed leaving to the point where if you did you were automatically an eternal enemy (check out the flavour text on the guild gate) and had assassins killing enemies and dissenders.
Oh and their ultimate goal was conquering all of ravnica and establishing a theocratic state. Thats what populate was, them growing their army enough to take on everyone else
In og ravnica almost all the guilds were evil, with only boros and izzet being good. The former as they seemed to be the only ones careing for the wellbeing of actual citizens and the later because it just runs infrastructure and does weird experiments. Perhaps the golgary arguably too if we really stretch it. Nowadays they've really played this aspect down after the dissolution and re-emergence of the guilds

Fun fact: Debaser was written about a film professor I had at UMass, who Black Francis had had many years prior. They still get coffee together sometimes out in Amherst.
I'm a little disappointed that no-one asked what encore does for a second time. :P
A small note about the editing: I'm personally not such a big fan of the "today on EDSC..." part. It feels like a trailer for a movie I'm already about to watch. If it really does raise engagement and allows LRR to make more content, then no worries, but I wanted to mention it in case I'm not the only one.

I appreciate showcasing the four other decks considering most people only cared about the always-sold-out Gruul Atarka starter commander deck. I am definitely interested in the Dimir one now.
The Dimir deck is pretty fun. I always liked Zombies, but regret that they’re not a green tribe (my favorite color). Oh well.
Get a copy of the Undead Unleashed precon from Innistrad: Midnight Hunt for a SERIOUS upgrade. Wilhelt, the Rotcleaver-the face commander-is STUPIDLY good. #2 Dimir commander at EDHREC, in fact.
Maybe, since EDSC is sponsored outside of RUclips, you can just omit the beginning and end ads so that you be more relaxed about hanging out together. Then you won't have to worry about demonetization.
I think Gisa and Geralf's parents are depicted in Ever After, a 6 mana sorcery from SOI
Wowza! The late game with Ben's deck is insanity.
Serge is able to choose whatever Guild he wants. And this game was really a beat-around with the Group Slug deck doing work.

I realize it was for the sake of brevity, but seeing White Sun's Zenith in the graveyard hurts my soul.

How about an EDSC with people not totally into EDH just playing around and talking crap. Have the heavies in another room watching remotely only able to communicate with tweets or messages on bits of paper. I could see Ben grabbing the monitor shouting “you fool” as Beej doesn’t maximize his value on a play.
Just sat down with some food and was looking for something to watch... this is going to last a lot longer than my food, but that is a problem I am happy to have!

So I bought all 5 for Christmas, and without a doubt, the demon deck and the dragon deck stomp the other 3.
At first, I thought Serge's type should have been the Isperia deck because Isperia is a judge and he is a judge...but then I remembered that Beej is actually the supreme judge of LRR and now I just want Beej on a future episode playing that deck
i have a kardur doomscourge deck and its affectionately dubbed "second place" because its never gotten less than second place (in my friendgroup) forcing people to fight for my entertainment lol

I'd like to add to the cannibal tangent most countries, including canada, don't have specific laws against cannibalism assuming this alternative universe had the same laws as we do you would not be charged with cannibalism anyway but things like murder, desecration of a corpse or assault

The gameplay with those decks would just be meh, but the tabledrama makes this good enough to watch at 1.25x speed! (I'm over 40, can't watch videos this long at 1x [road quest is an exception])
