I would really appreciate if you could you please cover question number 19 from the practice set in any of your videos. I didnt get that question nor could understand from the written explanation.
I used to hate this concept because most people who teach this directly go to “speed ratio is x:y, so time ratio is y:x. … y-x is N units. Equate this to this and that to that.. done! Option so and so is the answer.. this is how we solve it without using a pen and paper”.. Sometimes they even say “if you take more than 30 seconds to solve this, you’re a waste, you’re a loser” lol! It makes you feel dumb, as if you can never solve these problems. But this video made me feel at ease. Even the tone and voice modulation of the teacher matters. It makes you feel anxious or comfortable. This teacher’s voice is soothing and his tone is good too. He is also saying things like “see how easy it is?”.. it gives you confidence! Thank you, sir, whoever you are! ❤
After spending 20 years in software, I was curious to solve aptitude problems again. No teacher used to explain them with such clarity as it is explained here. I am glad to solve them. Thank you!!
Good Efforts. Aside for students : Let A and B are two variables such that product is always constant. Using the concept of inverse proportions we have -- 1. If A increases by x/y then B will decrease by x/(y + x) 2. If A decrease by x/y then B will increase by x/(y - x). These two relations will solve ANY problem where product of two variables is constant. Example 1 : If speed increase from 40 kmph to 50 kmph, it means speed increase by 10 kmph or 10/40 = 1/4th. Here time will decrease by 1/(4 + 1) or 1/5th. If we know the decrease in time, we can find the original time. In this example if we say initially boy reaches school 10 minutes late @ 40kmph but reach 20 minutes early travelling @ 50kmph, then time decreased is 1/5th of original time. => 1/5t = 30 or t = 150 minutes. d = 40 x 150/60 = 100 kms Example 2 : If price of sugar increases by 33 1/3% then how much decrease in consumption to keep expenditure constant. 33 1/3% means 1/3 Increase in price by 1/3 will lead to 1/(3 + 1) = 1/4th or 25% decrease in consumption of sugar to keep expenditure constant. All examples in this video can be solved using this.
Yes. All problems involving two variables where product is constant can be done using this principle. Further examples could be Area of Rectangular shapes, Volume of cylinders etc where area, volumes remain constant.

So by this two equation we get the formula mentioned here mechanically
