- Hummingbird feeding frenzy taken at my home high in the rocky mountains of Colorado summer of 2014. Towards the end of the video they perch on my hand. In order to get so close and be able to touch them I had to go into a very quiet semi meditative state. What the video doesn't show is that some even landed on my shoulder. Enjoy!

I love seeing the little guys, let alone getting the chance to have one land on your hand. That has to earn your loads of karmic credit, earning the trust of such a sweet creature.

I had one buzzing me every time I would sit in my backyard There was a feeder there when I moved in but not used. My mom is totally into hummingbirds and was visiting me. She pointed out what this male anna was doing buzzing the feeder and then coming within inches from my face. So I started the one feeder. What a bully so I put another up. Weeks later I had 11 feeders and could watch 7 feeders from my favorite spot in the yard It gave me something to do with my old broken fishing poles they make great hangers. The next year when they came back OMG is was awesome and then I moved I gave away all my feeders to my neighbors to keep my hummers in the hood. I seriously loved them and just smiled every time I saw them. I had one that if I went thru my back door and out the front he would here the door and buzz my face as I came down my stairs When I changed my feeders out I would be at my table and what a ruckus it was until I re-hung them. This one perched really close to me trying to defend the 7 feeders I could see to no avail. I also could raise my arm up and down and he would go straight up and the dive at me then returning to his perch I swear it was like having a pet do a trick.

What a beautiful sight
That has got to be the most amazing thing I’ve seen as far as hummingbirds go. I would love to have that interaction with them. I have had as many as 19 line up on my deck railing years ago after a summer rain but never had them feed from my finger.
Get yourself a little 'Mini Feeder' from Amazon, put on a red T-shirt and i guarantee that you will have them swarming all over you, and on you as well. Works for me, all the time. HAVE FUN!!

I'll bet those birds are used to each other. Maybe even "family". Or I would bet they wouldn't get along so good. I mean after fighting all the time, I'm sure they would finally just say the heck with it and learn to live around one another. I don't mean to imply they are like people living in a neighborhood though.

How long did he get you to have so many we only have two coming to ours at a time
Just keep at it the birds will come back and have babys there. They also remember where to go. Keep your nectar fresh and clean. I seem to have more than last year and last year was my first year feeding.

Amazing little creatures...I have some come to mine but not that many.....And did you notice all these ruby throated hummingbirds are male?...I seen only about 2 females.

How can you tell the female from the male ? 🤔
@@zap4980 ...The males have a red throat...And in the shadows it looks dark. Females are grey on the belly and around the neck.
Those are not ruby throated hummers. They’re the broad-tailed hummers which are a common species of the Rocky Mountains and other mountain ranges of Western U.S. and Mexico.
@@Toomuchbullshitt This is the first video I've ever seen of a swarm of broad tails. They are so ADORABLE! They make the cutest noises!

@@Reese2279 For most birds it is the weather that tells them to migrate not food.

You are suppose to leave them up so that migrating birds have food source as they pass by. They need food to make long journeys. they are smart they dont stay. I keep my feeders up and when they stop eating i remove them. They tell me when its time.
