- This is a great update to the classic Snap-On HJ47ACF with the FlankJaw that is on Snap On Sockets and wrenches. Up to 30% more leverage in addition to being multi-positional with talon grip.

The flank drive part is also designed to let you slip the hex bolt similar to an open end ratchet wrench. You loosen your grip slightly to allow it to slip and the round notch is like the open end design, then you grip again to tighten.
That’s right, it is designed for that. Thanks for watching and commenting! 👍
If I'm working out of my home-shop, I'll never use pliers on a nut or bolt. Snap On makes some great pliers, and I love their Talon grip, but these would be great for getting you out of a bind in a roadside emergency or on a trip.
I would agree, great to have in the car. I think it’s also good to use securing a free bolt when removing a nut with a wrench 🔧 Thanks for watching!
Good job love you From Dino Mares Fontana CA
Thanks for watching!
I own the Icon pliers and work well enough for me but I would never use them for bolts and or nuts that are on so tight that I may round them off. I rather use the right tool for the job when able to like sockets or wrenches. Kudos from NYC🗽.
I agree. I'm thinking using this as a substitute for pliers wrench and adjustable wrench. Thx for watching!
Really helpful video, thanks. I think these will be in my next order. Would you say they pretty much replace the need for standard adjustable wrench like the Snap On FADH8C? Thanks!
Yes I think potentially yes. They don’t have the cam locking pressure of knipex pliers wrench though. Thanks for commenting!
@@projectpinehills Cheers - think I'll go for these 🙂
Let me know if you do and how they work out.
@@projectpinehills I picked them up shortly after my comment and I'm a big fan. Great size, great features, my go-to grab pliers now.
There’s usually something wrong with everything harbor freight sells, but I don’t own the HF Snap-on knockoffs.
I have the smaller version of the Snap-on with large rubber or vinyl grips, and the old pair of 47s I had since the 80s. The newer ones with the grip, Snap-on man says he will warranty them but the grips are dipped during production and a non serviceable item. I find that as odd since Snap-on doesn’t even warranty out the whole screwdrivers. They just want to replace the blade and you can only do this so many times until the plastic handle cracks or degrades due to age.
My old Snap-on 47 pliers are actually chrome! I don’t normally loosen bolts with a damn set of pliers, so the newer feature is sort of gimmicky.
You don’t want to warranty out the whole pliers? I think the flank jaw has its application, it could sub for an adjustable wrench or be used for back pressure.
@@projectpinehills I seriously doubt Snap-on makes those pliers or screwdrivers. Snap-on don’t make a lot of tools they sell.
So you rather stick with the originals?
Knipex makes the same version as the snap on and been out longer
What’s the Knipex number? The Knipex Twin Grips are different.
@@projectpinehillsnot even the same thing these are like a traditional slip joint and the twin grip whip amazing are. Way different
@@projectpinehillsthanks great video man I really love your style regarding tools for sure👌🏼👍🏻
This I’d love to see
Me too!
A Snap-on tool that I'd actually buy? What's next? Monkeys flying out of my arse?
lol, there is a place for all tools. thx for watching!
I have a good idea, buy some wrenches and you won't round off any bolts.
That’s a lot of wrenches to carry. Thanks for watching!
Lol
