I love mine!
It’s a great tool. Thanks for posting! 👍
PSA: THIS CHANNEL IS DANGEROUS!
Ha, ya think?
Klein? Plumber tool? They’re not gonna last
Thanks for posting! 👍
I love Klien tools but I will not buy any of the made in China crap
Thanks for watching! 👍
I like how precise you were with every item, without overhyping them like: ‘this product will change your life.’ Let’s be honest, at the end of the day, they’re just things sitting somewhere. Of course, they help us, but the way you present them is very practical. You maintain a simple and relaxed approach, focusing on their human utility rather than glorifying the product itself. Congrats on a great video! Greetings from Chile!
Thank you and thanks for posting! 👍
7:30. If you drill out the bottom of the handle of that Klein nut driver, you can keep that 4 inch Malco on the nut driver. When you reverse it, it will stick out just a little bit out of the bottom of the handle. I kept the 3/8 bit on the other side. Swapped out the double ended bit from one of my other Klein nut drivers. I use the number two Phillips with a large slotted on the other side. I keep the bit holder empty for whenever I need to use otherbits. If I need a little bit more extension For the Malco bit, I will put that into the bit holder and that gets me about 6 inches. By far, one of my favorite tools Klein has made 👍🏽
I like that setup, makes sense. Thanks for posting and watching! 👍
There are a few really good and different recommendations / choices in this video. Good work.
Thank you and thanks for taking the time to post! 👍
How long does the Milwaukee take to charge from dead to full?
Made in China no thanks
Thanks for posting! 👍
I usually have a few releasable cable ties secured to rings, zipper pulls, or loops.
Good idea. Thanks for posting! 👍
Dewalt makes many sets like this in different configurations..Not very expensive either..they're nice
Bought this a few days ago and ready to put in tool bag but the speed lock shaft doesn’t lock in tight and bit will fall out in tool bag. Anyone else notice this and have a solution KLEIN.
Is it the pass through 1/2” shaft or the 1/4” shaft?
@ 32932 1/4 shaft you can easily take out it doesn’t lock
I had the same problem. I exchanged it and the new one is fine.
@@projectpinehills will Lowe’s take it back I have receipt but no package, they make it impossible to put back in packaging.
I usually have the packaging, but I think they will take it anyway. Especially if it has a defect.
This was ridiculous, this is in no way is a comparison, you would never use a real cordless screwdriver to put in fastener into a log and how is comparing a impact to a cordless fair, give your head a shake what a waste of my time
Ha, I think if you listen, you hear the explanation. I was trying to illustrate torque. I made clear the impact was not comparable. The screwdriver is for driving pre-threaded/piloted screws. In hindsight, it would be better to use softwood.
Can’t go wrong with Olight. Baton 4 is an amazing light. Bought 4 this year for myself and gifts.
It’s a great light. Thanks for posting! 👍
It’s not just the Cobra design that make Knipex great, Vise-Grip also makes easy adjust wrenches which theirs able to ratchet closed; Knipex takes pride in manufacturing and use better materials meaning Knipex jaws grip better and stay sharper much longer allowing them to get a batter grip. These pliers aren’t just “plumbing” electricians use adjustable pliers all the time, especially commercial and industrial electricians. While Klein does make some decent tools they can’t hold a candle to Knipex as far as build quality or functionality. The Knipex forged strippers are frankly the best strippers I’ve found and the absolute best way to cut 6-32 & 8-32 as you just cut me pull out; no threading needed.
I don't know what it would take for me to join Klein's brand for hand tools. Been licensed in Plumbing for almost 18 years now. Started with affordable Channelocks, and now I'm buying the Comfort Grip Knipex and other high end brands for my hand tools. I could see myself buying these as a step-up if I was tired of Channelock brand stuff. For now though, I just feel Knipex is the best pair of pliers and I would only buy a brand of Klein if I lost mine on a job and needed a replacement asap instead of waiting for Amazon to deliver.
Thanks for sharing your experience. That’s good feedback. I feel the same way, why move away from Knipex. Thanks for taking the time to post. 👍
the downsidee of railer the screw bits are not magnetic
There is enough foam there where you could add a magnet. Thanks for posting!
Made in China is a major disappointment. I’ll stick with my Knipex.
Thanks for posting! 👍
Klein made in China?
Thanks for watching!
I’ve owned the 10” Cobras for a couple years now and love them . I just bought the 10” Klein version a couple days ago just because I actually like the feel of the dipped handles better than the Knipex handle texture. I’m sure they’re not as good as the Knipex but they are going to work just fine and i really like the look of the orange.
Thanks for posting!
Looks like it is closer to the alligator pliers
Thanks for watching!
You lost me at "Made in China".
Understandable. Thanks for posting! 👍
Are the Klein quench hardened? Knipex are induction hardened.
I don’t think it’s specified. Thanks for posting! 👍
@@projectpinehills Great channel sir, keep it up. I love workbench talk with tradesmen. I would love to see you try more Japanese and German tools like Tone, Fujiya, TOP, Gedore, Stawille, and so on. I am getting a new Veto in January and Will have to finish my loadout for my current job. Do you have a direct email or just use this to talk with your subscribers?
I agree with everyone else. I don't want Chinese junk even if Klein's name is on it. They're beginning to sell out big time, and the name is losing inherent value with me quickly. I just received my 83 61 010 Swedish style Knipex wrench today, and I can faithfully say Klein will never reach this quality with their current direction. Maybe Channellock will step their game up so we can finally have some American hand tools other than Malco's Eagle Grips (and hyper overpriced/rebranded truck brands) that compete with European brands like Knipex, PB Swiss, Stahlwille, Gedore, Hazet, Wera, etc.
Thanks for posting. 👍
Knipex number one ❤
Thanks for posting! 👍
China? Never mind…
Thanks for posting!
Have you tried the BSIDE Z5?
No, it appears to be much larger than the ANENG. Thanks for posting!
Just the idea that is made in china I would never buy it.
Well especially when Klein is known for making the best Lineman pliers. Thanks for posting!
You should have compared how they grip materials if they grip equally
Yes, and the Knipex definitely has the best grip. Thanks for posting! 👍
I think that hole looks like it's for manufacturing. To allow the opposite side handle to slide through.
That’s exactly what it is and I knew that and had forgotten lol. I think I’ve seen a video where Knipex explains why they don’t have that hole in there smaller pliers. Thanks for answering the question!
These pliers are made by NWS they are exactly the same I personally don’t rate NWS they are a cheap Knipex in the UK
You think NWS is involved in this new Chinese made version?
I broke My Impact adapter and can’t find a replacement anywhere if anyone can help I love the tool but would hate to buy it again just for one piece
The impact to pass-thru adapter?
Appreciate your detailed walk through. I am not familiar with the variety of multi bit all in one hand tools so this gives me some clarity for choosing. Take care
Thank you and thanks for taking the time to post! 👍
Would be nice if companies would start painting the engraved sizes to make then easier to read.
Yeah the size markings are not exactly high viz. thanks for posting! 👍
Conclusion Confusion
Are you referring to the collet? If so, I got a replacement 16-in-1 that didn’t have the issue.
Every other company copying Knipex just doesn't get it right. They all fall short(Klien the least). I use other brands as my throw away out in field pliers. If I lose them I won't be sad for long.
Have you used the Doyle’s? Thanks for posting! 👍
just so you are aware both of the klein links in the description go to the same set of pliers
Fixed. Thanks for letting me know. 👍
@@projectpinehills you're welcome!
This is not entirely correct. The older made in Germany Klein Klaw pliers were never made by Klein, they were made by NWS and rebranded for Klein. NWS does this for Felo and at one point did it for Irwin. The Made In USA Klein Klaw pliers were made by Klein using a similar design to the NWS versions with some differences as the patents ran out. They still make the USA made ones. These orange ones are a version of that but seem to be made only for Lowe's or at least Lowe's as a launching point into plumbing. Knipex have never played any role in these pliers with maybe the exception of the original NWS design which came out long before Klein had NWS making them for them.
Yes, it's apparent Klein had a branding deal with NWS when they were made in Germany, they look identical to the NWS version. I wasn't suggesting Klein had built a factory in Germany, only that they were made in Germany. Your logic makes sense, the pliers are influenced by Knipex even if we just look at Knipex's influence on the NWS design. Thanks for posting!
I bought this and then realized the bits are hard to see. Sure, it has the orange ring around it, but that doesn't help my tired eyes see the bit type i need when it's all black. I'm looking at other alternatives now. Great product Klein, but need something to help me see better. Cheers! Thanks for the review.
I know what you mean. There are always trade offs. Thanks for posting! 👍
Stop sending money to China
Much rather see these made in USA like other Klein pliers. Thanks for posting! 👍
I’d love to know Rockwell hardness of those jaws/teeth. Something you don’t get from these “feels good in the hands reviews”
I was thinking the same. A simple hardness test would be helpful. I think we know the answer to that question though. Thanks for posting! 👍
You can get a rough number off tsuboson hardness checking files. They are made in Japan and about the only one i would trust besides a more expensive Swiss watch set. They run 55 to 90 dollars.
@MattHmm-rq6dn Thanks, much appreciated. That's good info!
Every YT video for these Kleins is a great advertisement for Knipex.
lol, Thanks for watching! 👍
Knipex 1st tool was end cutters
That’s right, Pincers were the first Tool which is interesting. I wasn’t giving a full Knipex history, just some background on the popular pliers that many think are new but have been available in parts of the world for decades. I was also trying to show that the cobra pliers came after the alligator pliers. Thanks for posting! 👍
I’m sure the Klein’s will do the job, but I’d choose Knipex.
Definitely the Knipex. Doyle is a better option than the Klien as well. Thanks for posting! 👍
Unfortunately they copied NWS and not Knipex with the jaw design. The teeth are facing the wrong way and have way less holding power than properly angled ones. They are probably much softer too, though obviously that would require some testing to find out for sure.
I think you are right. The NWS also show that they are made in Germany like the original Klein version of the Cobra pliers and look identical. Definitely not on par with Knipex. Thanks for posting! 👍
@ Yes, I believe Klein used to rebrand NWS, though I guess making them in China is cheaper. NWS make some of my favorite side cutters and needle nose plies, but their water pump pliers are just bad. Maybe check out Hazet and Stahlwille pliers, they make some interesting stuff.
Great video, good job
Thank you and thanks for posting! 👍
If I remember right I was going to grab a couple of these when they were on sale at Lowe’s, but after taking a look I passed. The Klein are significantly heavier at the same size, and I carry my tools around. If cost is the big thing go to HF and grab the Doyle’s. They are a better copy.
Yeah, 100% agree and I should have mentioned the Doyle’s in the video. They are better, they have more adjustment settings, a smaller head, grips are the right length and I like the Doyle grip better than Icon plier grips. Thanks for posting! 👍
I'm using knipex tools for years and they are the best, the most durable jaws and teeths and excellent heat treatment. The hole in the handle of the Klein pliers are used during assembly to insert one handle through. Knipex does the same but only with the cobra xl. The smaller versions are assembled after the forging, they are slightly deformed, the two handles are assembled together and the hot metal then pressed and that's it. So there is no stress point in the handle like on the Klein ones, where the material is removed. And when you consider the fact that exactly this upper handle is where you apply the force... But this is cheaper to do this way.
Agree on the Knipex durability. Thanks for answering the question about the hole in the handle. I think I knew that about the Knipex XL’s and had forgotten lol. 👍
Of coarse you only realise these points after some serious use, it's not discovered off the shelf removed from a blister pack.
Knipex is still the goat
They are hard to beat. 👍
Knipex for me. I get it if you are in a tight budget though. These will be a lifetime too though. I carry the 125 knipex cobras and pliers wrench in a leather pouch in my pocket every day. I have the other larger sizes in tool boxes as well. As a boiler operator and plant engineer they are my most used tools. I like knipex because they use quality metal which means they can use less to be lighter but stronger. The side by side really shows this.
I really appreciate the feedback and I agree. The cost difference is not enough for me to not buy Knipex. If the Klein version was made in the USA, that might make the difference. I do prefer my Klein lineman’s. 👍
