@PPH I was interested in both of these, and wondered how they compared, so this video was perfect. Thanks for comparing them! And thanks for keeping it concise, while still being extremely thorough. 👍
@projectpinehills I’ve watched a lot of your videos, and you keep a perfect balance between thoroughly reviewing/comparing and conciseness. Definitely one of the best tool review channels on YT. This video answered every question I had about the two lights.
I went with the Dewalt because i liked that it still works while charging. I heard the Milwaukee doesn't but I still want to try the milwaukee because they use better LED's and it's more compact. both Milwaukee and Dewalt are similar in price $60-$65 My first light in this category was a Milwaukee M12 Rover where the light panel just pivots. One of my best investments. When I saw a video on the Milwaukee/ Dewalt with swivel head, I had to get it because it has uses the rover can't accomplish. People complaining about pricing, they obviously don't own any quality lights. I good flashlight can cost $75 to over $100 easily. you get what you pay for. They are the reason why the cheap brands make so much money; that's all most people care about is price
I've had a couple of the Harbor Freight Braun 750 lumen work lights for a few months. They were $20 a piece during one of their recent sales. Super bright. Not as many hanging options unless you get creative but they do have strong magnets. Low is fine for most work and they'll run about 12 hours on that setting. USB-C charging. It is a single cob LED light. There is an icon version for $50 is three times as bright but I can't justify the price when these are working so well.
Husky is the way to go if you are looking to save some money… short run time and not the best light color but $15. This weekend is a good time to hit harbor freight too.
One of our foreman has the Milwaukee…. And I have the Klein…. I’m Team Klein 100% but I like the warmer color on the Milwaukee especially when working in electrical panels or in darker areas where I may be having to separate multiple colors of wire… The Milwaukee definitely helps me see the colors better but over all I like the size and my Klein light. To each their own.
Runtime comparison? Did I miss that? Very good comparison and demonstration otherwise. You’ve nailed video lighting, composition, and audio. Your points are excellent and you’re a good speaker.
Thank you and yes I did miss the runtime comparison considering there is a significant difference and run time is very important in a work light. The Klein has a much better runtime. I've updated the video thumbnail to reflect the runtimes.
I've had mine for a little time now and I like the new milwaukee light. It's far more robust feeling than it looks in thr video. I have olight husky thr icon stick light that klein light ect and other than surprisingly the husky light this is the most substantial in feel. It's been 10 to 12 years usbc Is a must these days. I even soldered a usb c port on my tajima light to avoid 2 cables. The brightness is fine and I would like more magnets on the bottom personally to have more mounting options. The slim nature sold me on it and it takes up less space in the veto bags since it's clipped on over a stick light. Glad you got your hands on it and like it as well.
Thank you. I was THIS close to finally getting with Klein, but now you're making me think lol. Probably going with Big Red after you're review, which I always enjoy!
That's true, a great price but the runtime rating on high is only 2.5 hours vs 9 hours on high for the Klein. When you need it, no light is a bad light.
I have that Klein and never reach for it. Olight came out with something similar a while back and it was just much brighter. It doesn't swivel like the Klein but it just works better. I have about 12 of those olight batons and with that size, form factor and mag base make it indispensable working on almost anything.
Damn really? I got the Klein and thought it was perfect. Magnets strong and as long as u place it within 5 feet I have no idea how someone couldn’t see
I have had the Klein one for nearly half a year now and it's a great light. That point at 5:30 is honestly kind of dumb for a couple reasons: first, I have never had that problem as an HVAC tech and second, you can just flip the stand all the way around, rotate the light 180° and then use the light angled downwards, just without the magnet. I have never needed it to do what you described on a flat surface, though, because one, it's a FLOOD light, not a spot light, and two, if it's up on a magnetic surface, why wouldn't you just move it to the edge? I will admit that the Klein has a larger profile making it difficult to comfortably carry it in your pocket, but what I do is I just stick the clip in my rear pocket and have the light hang out. You can also wear it on your shirt (as advertised on the packaging) and I don't know whether the Mke is capable of doing that well. Finally, it is rare that I would need to hang the light from something too large for it to clip on. It's so infrequent that it's not even worth mentioning and I've been in many, many basements. From my use of the Klein, it's literally just a matter of which brand you prefer if you don't already have the Klein. Edit: I also want to add that I don't even notice the whiter color of the light after using it for awhile. I used the smaller red lithium folding light before this one and you just get used to it and view that color the way you would view a warmer color.
No, it’s a good point, I probably didn’t illustrate it well. A stronger magnet on the Klein would be a big help. I agree it’s somewhat rare to attach the clip to something larger and you could put a bungee or something that would accomplish the same result. Thanks for watching!
very nice! sadly its probably not available in Romania. anyway, in May ive got the FenixCL28R and yesterday the FenixCL27R. but i like the Swivel design too.
Have the Klein. Was interested in the Milwaukee. I like the things that the Milwaukee can do that the Klein cant, but I don't usually need those functions. I really just use the magnet function and that's it. Though I did use the clip function working on my car, but that was a small diameter to clip on.
Milwaukee was really going for a flat light that would fit in a pocket where you keep your smartphone. The Milwaukee does have a stronger magnet. I'd like to see the Kline udpated since it has created a whole new class of lights and they got so many things right, no one has made a better light yet.
Thanks for the awesome video 👍🏻. I've been thinking about that Milwaukee task light. I just can't justify the $65.00 pricetag for a fixed battery light. I think they overpriced a $40.00 🤔 light.
Does the olight pivot? Last I checked, it didn’t. The husky is always out of stock when I check on it and it has a 2.5 hour runtime on high. Thanks for posting!
@@projectpinehills pivots 150 degrees, has 1100 lumens so it’s more then twice as brite with 2x the runtime , plus a red light , flash light and tripod mount
That’s the Olight swivel, it’s more than $35. The swivel looks nice, I’d have to try it. The husky runs 2.5 hours on high, that’s the issue with that one.
Olight doesn't appear to be making them anymore, not listed on their site. Milwaukee is much more compact and better overall design IMO, but it depends on the users needs. most that buy these work in construction/ trades, possibly automotive.
Hello! I’ve been looking for a metal spike like you use for pointing details (Specifically with that hexagon handle) I’ve used the term awl and some others without success! Maybe you would know how to point me in the right direction! Thanks!
My klein just arrived.... wish it had more than just one row of magnets. It always wants to slide heavy side down because of gravity. All they had to do was add a third set of magnets at the top (4 - one at every corner would be better). I love klein magnetic levels. Was hoping the magnets would be better quality like their levels. I bought it because of battery life. It literally just arrived and is charging right now so i can use it for wotk tomorrow. Tbh initial impression is its ok. 3.5/5 for now.
The Braun 750 lumen smaller work lights at Harbor Freight are surprisingly nice. They go on sale occasionally for $20. About 12 hour battery life on low which is plenty. Magnetic base with swiveling light. USB-C charging. Harbor Freight used to be hit or miss but they've been upping their game. Not sure if it'll work for you but it gives you another option.
FIY. The Klein probably gives over 18 hours on low, and low is still bright enough for everything, i can basically use it for 2 full days without charging it
The husky is a good price when in stock, last time I checked it was out of stock. The husky only has a 2.5 hour runtime on high vs 9 hours on the Klein. No light when you need it is a bad light.
I like the build of the husky for sure but if you want super slim you have to pay the milwaukee tax. One thing to note about the husky is the light is a 5k or 6k+ very blue and harsh. The milwaukee is 4kish and very pleasing for alot of people. The battery life as well is sadly better too on this light in real world conditions. Something to keep in mind in comparison.
You’re right, the Klein runtime rating is double the Milwaukee, good point. The Klein is 16 hours on low. So Klein has higher output and 4 hours longer runtime on low than the Milwaukee.
Thanks for the feedback. How about the run times? The Husky seems to have much lower runtimes, 2.5 on high as opposed to 9 hours on high for the Klein. I've also heard the quality of the LED light emitted isn't as good. When you need it, no light is a bad light.
I’ve used this Klein and it’s amazing last for hours. Highly recommend
It does have a long runtime. Thanks for watching! 👍

Good review as usual. I have had the Klein for a couple years and have the Milwahkee on order. Always enjoy your videos.
Thanks, I really appreciate that. Thanks for watching!
How’s the milkwahkee so far ?
Your video sold me on the Klein light. Love the fact it doubles as a charging bank
It’s a great light, good runtime. Thanks for watching!
