The earlier design definitely has an old school Italian flair. The later LP cars were refined to the point they look "German" somehow. The 5.0 also sounds more exotic than the 5.2 which became rather ubiquitous.
Curious about what percentage they charge on SOR? Or is it a fixed amount irrespective of the sale cost? I've been on the market for one for a while, but must confess this 'salesman' doesn't make me want to use this company!
Great video! The Gallardo is my favourite/ dream car! Gen 1 is timeless, sexy and sounds amazing!! Gen 2 is sexy and aggressive however it did lose the sound but the looks make up for it.
I chose LP for all the updates and reliability. First thing done was aftermarket exhaust, sounds great now. Horrified to find there were only 4 gated manual spyders in the U.S. so I bought the color/spec I wanted in E-gear with the intent to convert it to manual. Turned out E-gear was such a blast I drove it 3 years like that before ultimately making the decision to convert it. lamborghini-talk thread about it.

The Gallardo is simply the most underrated car today. I saw one recently for just under £60K and honestly, I think they will only go way up. It's modern and hasn't aged at all unlike other try-hard hard exotics that look like a receding hairline (cough, F 430)
the front headlights of 458/488 ferrari looks "a bit too much" like these of the first manual gallardo, in fact, if seen from far away, the front looks almost the same
Thanks to Collecting cars for these in depth videos on young timer classics. The cars featured are definitely in my ‘maybe one day’ list. I found the content informative. Funny how Gallardo’s now seem quite restrained in the styling department compared to modern cars.
If you never driven one it's a riot. The early ones weren't incredibly fast, but they're so raw. The E-gear isn't as bad as they say, but the clutch life on the e-gear cars is pretty abhorrent. If you drive in traffic, expect a clutch every 10 to 15k miles. The coolant bottle is literally out of a Q7 of the same era. The radio and AC, right out of the Audi parts bin.
Honestly, I don't drive a lot anymore but when I do I like to hit an open road and let it rip! Thats what I would buy this car for! Never believed in buying a badass car to let it rot in the damn garage.
The did not change the firing order with the 5.2. They changed the firing INTERVAL also, they changed the crank pins from the split pins on the 5.0. This bloke at VVS is a bit of a Billy at times.
You've tried, but written out the way you wrote it they'd just say "G'dshardo"... remember, they don't know how letters work. They speak English. I mean, it's good to have a universal, global language, but did it have to be one where people pronounce the letter i in "infinite" and "finite" differently? COME ON. What kind of nonsense is this?!
The guy being interviewed should never be allowed to speak in public. His speech is broken and erratic and sounds like he is about to have a brain meltdown He also cannot complete a sentence without struggling as well as stay on one thought This was absolutely brutal and painful to listen to listen to
Appreciate these longer videos.
The first-gen Gallardo is arguably the best looking one, especially in yellow.
No
💯 agree, the yellow looks great... Of course they all look good! But I love that retro look

Im pretty sure the Germans and Italians have been in partnership since 1939
@@stewartjking4351kinda like the MK5 Supra, which is the second notable time the Germans and the Japanese have teamed up
This is brilliant. Really interesting. These cars are so underrated.
Thanks for a great video!!
great vid, ive had a gen 1 SL for four years and still love it,
Running costs ok?
Nice to see my LP560-4 on there. Its on SOR, half tempted to take it back now spring is gradually coming closer!

I never thought I would see reasonable and Lamborghini in the same sentence 🤣
rawness of the egear single clutch > then all modern boring boxes. IMO makes me smile.
1st gen E GEAR needs a 2023 software upgrade. Lol

37 minutes and no mention of the CAT-astrophic failures? Strange.
If all you need to do is replace the clutch, then consider yourself lucky. ;)

I love my lp560. Iv drove it to Switzerland twice.
The F355 buyers guide was a masterpiece. This was hilarious at certain points but not entertaining.
Yellow LP560 is the best looking IMO
The Lambo 'specialist' doesnt seem to know as much as he should.

Maybe you could recommend the same Lamborghini specialist school you went to then?
Why?
i agree = they didn't say anything about the door panels and seats going bad.

that does it manual it is 😀
C’mon chaps, let’s pronounce its name correctly.
It’s named after a *Spanish* fighting bull, so it’s a ‘Gajardo’ - not a ‘Gayardo’ nor ‘Giyardo’.

Lamborghini themselves pronounce the L’s. No J, Y or whatever.
Yeah I'm not buying it this guy seems to know very few specific details
I’m surprised they’re driving without a front plate, especially since they’re a reputable dealership
I noticed that as well and couldn't see it in the windscreen either
Don't buy the E-gear version.
I owned a 09 gallardo 560-4 for 2 years.The E-Gear box was just a nightmare.
And its even worse on the earlier model
You have to pay hefty premium for the manual tho, but it is worth it.
