    Just a note, this method is best suited for running tracks from a media player or sampler. If you will be running an actual REAPER session during live performance, you can follow similar steps to create submixes to a separate fader, remove the master output, and route the submix track(s) to the appropriate hardware outputs

      @@PabloGomix you got it. So long as the backing track sounds good in mono, this will work just fine.

    Hey Myk,
    I just completed the IEM rack for my band and we run tracks from reaper via USB into a Behringer X32.
    While this is the solution for a simpler setup, I think it's much easier to have a stereo track (or a set of tracks to balance them accordingly to every venue night by night) for everything sample part and the clicktrack separately. Then use the routing matrix and designated channel in the IEM mixer to feed our monitor mix with the separate signals for individual mixes.
    On top we use a stereo AUX out on the X32 to feed the samples to FOH.
    This would also work with a Dante virtual soundcard for the laptop and a Dante card in the X32 in case we get to a level where we can usually connect to FOH via dante instead of splitting signals and analog cabling.
    Nice to see you grow! All the best for you and your channel!

      That's definitely a better method with that kind of setup, just routing what you need directly to hardware outputs. As you said, this is a much simpler method for lesser hardware or even a sample pad for a drummer.
      Hope all is well on your side of the world. Based on the equipment upgrades, I'd say so!

    how to record seperately in reaper, like ch1 only not to hear the audio in my PC

    (not so)Quick question/triage......I create and run a pretty good amount of backing tracks for a couple of bands I gig with....In the past I had always used Audacity.....This year I started recreating all of my library of tracks using Reaper to stereo tracks to FOH, as I am now using an SPD-SX pad live....When I create my clicks now, I have 'MY' click panned hard L, and routed only to my personal mixer, and a 2 bar count-in click with any in song cues, panned hard R, routed to a monitor mixer for anyone one that wants it in their IEMs ....My issue is this....When I render my click tracks, there is a small, but noticeable, amount of bleed, so the 100% R channel going to IEMs will have a low volume amount of 'MY' click going for the entire tune....This is a distraction for some of the guys.....my workaround has been to load rendered Click(L)/Cue(R) track into Audacity, silence the bleed over in the R channel, render it through Audacity, and it works fine............Is this type of bleed/crosstalk common in Reaper when hard-panning the tracks, as opposed to the way you do it here with routing the tracks into a seperate third track, and then using that tool for panning?

    • @LetsTalkAboutReaper
      @LetsTalkAboutReaper  Год назад

      sorry for the delayed response.As a general rule, the bleed does not happen and i am somewhat puzzled as to how its happening even in Audacity, unless there may be a reverb or stereo effect involved that is creating the crosstalk. If you test the track on the computer, are you seeing the same result, or is it only happening when trying it from the pad?
      I definitely encourage you to hop on Discord and we can discuss this further.

      @@LetsTalkAboutReaper Not happening in Audacity....I am using Audacity to silence/remove the bleed from that channel....And yes, it is evident on both platforms when played.....I have never used discord, but will try to figure out how to get on there to engage....Thanks.

    There's still click sound bleeding in the left side. Any idea to fix that? Isn't it will be bleeding on the audience ear too?

      Are either of you using any "analog modeling" or saturation plugins? Those can create some crosstalk between channels.
      Hop on Discord so we can learn a bit more about your setup and discuss

    Hi , when I improvise with my guitar, I would like to achieve something apparently very simple but I can't do it with Reaper or even with Ableton Live... I record a 2-bar verse and an 7-bar chorus as accompaniment... I loop the verse and I improvise on with the lead guitar...when I want, I launch the chorus which then has to return to the looped verse...how can I do it with Reaper?
    thank you very much

    Is this a good tool to use to make backing tracks for live performances?
    I have a band, and there are keys and other sounds i would like to have playing along as the rest of the band plays live.
    What do i use to make sure band plays along with tracks accurately, etc. What do i play it with? Who starts it, etc. Conplete beginner here

    Hello from Paraguay! Love your videos broder! Do you know how can I control autotune with my apollo twin interface for a live show?

    • @LetsTalkAboutReaper
      @LetsTalkAboutReaper  Месяц назад +1

      Hey, thank you!
      if you want to use a tuning plugin for a live show, you would need to use a zero latency tuning plugin made for live use and be sure to set the parameters accordingly for the key of each song. Assuming you are running REAPER for the live show (or any DAW, for that matter), you would either have a project file for each song with the plugin setup appropriately, or a single project for the whole show with automations to change the key as needed.
      I realize this is a very high level overview answer, but this is a tough one to explain much better over YT comments

      I am using SWS Extension for "Auto Color." That's the only customization I've done, and it's to color my tracks based on name. If you're on discord, maybe sure a few screenshots and let's see what you have. I assume.it was correctly installed, but it's hard to say without being able to see it.
