I hope the surface has a Chaos equivalent of a Titan lurking and giving boons.
Maybe Gaia? She could be like opposite of Chaos and prefer Mel.
You can unlock chaos on the surface. Or at least Chaos says they will show up, I've never actually seen it happen.
@@Fistminer Imagine that the last boss on the surface actualy is available and no one has reached him yet 😂
If correct they have overestimated how long people will grind to reach the end 😂
No, it’s been locked
i think it should be helios as an opposite to selene
prometheus
Having 465 magick and running out exposes Circe as the terrible Aspect it is
Eris can do fuck all against Hestia's dash, since it destroys projectiles which 95% of her attacks are
So long as you're sprinting when she does them and not just dashing. Which I've found to be a surprising challenge.
@@wanderingshade8383if you hold the dash you’ll go straight from the i-frames to sprint. Just dash before you think she’ll attack, not when she starts, and even if you mistime it just keep running in circles. Unless you have very little time left on your Oath or Desperation you can just hedge your bet and sprint earlier.
Soot Sprint totally trivialises Eris and is easily the best boon possible for that fight
I take this everytime and it trivialize the fight
"Just dodge behind her."
Eris: * Positions herself with her back against the wall. *
Its so aggravating but honestly if she didn't do that I'd probably be more upset lol.
Plan B, try to stand between Eris and Frinos. Hermes' Hard Target boon is a huge help too.
@@samusmp1_4 hestia sprint completely trivialises it
Walked into the kitchen and already saw Haelian cooking another build
Yeah having a symbol for regular attacks might help make the weapon descriptions easier to read, or at least saying “uncharged”. If the charged attacks are Omega attacks then calling regular attacks Alpha attacks would be cool.
My policy on a 'good' surface run is if it can push damage on Eris from behind a pillar, it's a good build.
Thanatos Aspect also has a similar problem to Circe, where the Omegas (outside of Zeus Omega Casts, where it does work as specified) will only accrue a single percentage for any one activation of your Omega, rather than for each hit, as the text states. So it feels kinda not worth it right now, even with how strong and fun it is
Isn’t that only if you have one of the spin hammers?
Only if you get either the free spin hammer, or the spin forward hammer, which somehow makes the whole omega attack counts as only one "projectile / hit"
Isn't that a bug?
@@baophuchoang7784 which is quite shit still cause like 2 thirds of the spin hammers make your aspect basically useless
@@deejaydee1578 not quite, all omega moves charge the aspect. Try taking Zeus casts, or use your Omega special to charge it as a backup. 1 Omega Cast from Zeus should charge your aspect super efficiently. Maybe Apollo too, but based on how it's worded I believe the whole thing counts as only 1 hit/projectile
I've gotten 3 mini chambers in this zone before
I wanna build around Zeus dash boon it does very good damage if mana can support it!
Also need the duo between Aphrodite and Zeus so you can do the 200% dash on enemies with the zeus debuff 🤔
The build looks incredible, maybe the Serenity can be stacked really quickly with Double Moonshot as second hammer? Although it could take a while to get to that second hammer, idk
Thats what they give you in one of the Chaos trial I recall
I would love to see you post more surface runs.
Is this where we finally learn the difference between "Attacks & Specials" and "Strikes"? Your 1 Omega attack strikes 4 times in this run. If that's an intended difference, i think Circe and Thanatos should be based on strikes
I used this same build with aspect of melinoe and added Hera's born gain boon.
It was definitely stronger.
This aspect doesn't work with extra dose nor hitting multiple targets with one attack
Definitely needs to trigger serenity on Omega and multi enemy hits. Itll help in crowded rooms and focuses on the Attack Omega building. It'll still be meh on bosses cuz it's single target usually.
The Aspect needs some fixing. It only gave you 1 pt of serenity per Omega cast. Didn't matter the amount of enemies hit or that it cast twice.
yeah i remember my first run trying out this aspect. i was going for an omega attack build and noticed that it wasn't building up serenity. at the time i just assumed i was doing something wrong lol
Hestia's sprint works on Eris and it is hilarious
Seems the aspect goes by inputs instead of actual attacks. So it's only giving 1 charge even tho you're doing 4 attacks. I imagine it does the same if you have double dose or that double special hammer. I guess the important part is if that is intentional for some reason or unintentional. Maybe it goes by inputs because of on hit effects. I dunno
Nah it's just bugged and doesn't work with Omega Attacks at all.
In the rift you can't roll Charybdis or the fountain chamber rewards
In the rift, you technically can't roll ANY locations. You can reroll encounters, but not locations.
I almost wonder if Aspect of Mel just does this better since the Serenity effect seems to be bugged
At the end, Circe Aspect did nothing to the build.
I hope it got rework or something.
Either lower the attack count
Or the charging effects is from something else. Like, "if you are hit by YOUR OWN omega cast, you get serenity for X seconds"
And the aspect rank up boost the channeling effect (more rank, more spam in those X seconds)
Hazard boom and lucid gain combo seem like negative synergy. stay in cast to regen mana and if you stay in cast you get hurt to 20 hp seems like a bad combo no?
Yes, but he mostly wasn't caring about lucid gain, honestly. He picked it basically for the Legendary.
Only by watching run to surface in letsplay I realised that ship is Charons ship that connects living world and underworld… I did dozens of runs,..
I think the omega attack gives you a single point on the Serenity counter *right* as you start to charge it, not when the attack hits someone. i noticed that sometimes the bar jumps up slightly when your omega attack ends and at first i thought you were just doing a single normal attack in that time and then starting the omega, but now i think it's just happening on input for attack, which you hold to do the omega, and the strikes themselves don't count. very strange aspect nonetheless
okay looking back at it slowly, i think when you press attack and hold, Mel still lands precisely 1 strike for that initial button press, and then starts charging the attack, and it's *that* singular attack that charges the serenity bar.
You can get up to three mini-chambers that I've seen, although obviously that's really rare.
I wonder if the problem with the aspect is... normally, "Attacks" and "Specials" are plural to indicate that something applies to multiple things, namely the normal and special version. Here, the plural might be used to indicate that Serenity requires 21 Attacks/Specials, with the plural referring to the "21" rather than "both normal and special."
It's possible the description should be updated to say, "Gain Serenity after hitting with 21 normal Attacks/Specials" or something like that.
Surprised he didn't go for Poseidon on Special. I think Apollo would've been ideal, but he'd already locked out that boon. That left his options as Hestia or Poseidon on Special, but he already had Scorch available with his cast. Poseidon would be able to apply Slip with a little bit of luck in finding more of his boons along the way. Not ideal, but it's his only real option at that point.
A long time viewer looked at the code for this aspect after the fact. Looks like Omega Specials work but just not Omega Attacks, most likely an oversight and not just a description error.
@@Haelian Oh dang, thanks for the response! Hope they fix that soon, then!
Had a Circe double cat build the other day. It’s super fun. I bet Circe will be better if they make magic regen harder to obtain
@@phaerlax in comparison its the same.
now if only we didn't get scammed by the game by 1. actually activating Serenity like we thought they would and 2. no rolling Charybdis for whatever reason we might not technically know yet LOL
Maybe in some of the code it counts as an event or boss, which can't be rolled
@@elGonho We're thinking that Charybdis is technically gonna be the Biome 2 Final Boss and Eris might be moved to Biome 3 or something, so it's already coded as a major boss :P
@@justarandomdood it does seem like Eris is would be the equivalent of Cerberus, big boss right before the run up to the final boss up top
@@justarandomdoodI dunno, I think Charybdis is meant to be like Tiny/UhOh. Miniboss but with boss healthbar. Also, do we know how many regions the surface will have? I've thought it would have 3 regions, Ephyra, the Rift, and Mount Olympus. In which case Eris is the Cerbie equivalent as @z34567890123456 says.
@@justarandomdoodNah, Charybdis is the Uh-Oh/Asterius of the rift.
Haelian, out of all the special character rooms (Arachne, Narcissus, Echo, Hades, Medea, Circe), who do you think offers the best boons/offerings in this game?
Echo clears
Probably echo, refilling your DDs, 50% dodge chance, and potentially a third hammer is really hard to compete with.
Echo and its not even close
Icarus has very good boons, unfortunately not a room.
@@SAVAGENEDVEDYes, he does, but I'd argue Echo is still universally stronger. Icarus can roll and you can wind up with an invention you might not be able to get a lot of value out of whereas Echo is almost always major upside.
I like Eris as the Boss of biome 2. The fight on the beach fits finally getting off the ships. It could be a placeholder but I like it.
I think the surface is meant to be harder than the depths. Charybdis as an extra boss can work but he would need a massive buff. Otherwise he can be just a cool mid biome boss but currently his placement in the chamber order doesn’t fit that.
Another alternative is that Eris could be a floating boss who could show up either on the surface or in the depths. She is strife and she just likes messing with you.
As an average gamer I found it easier and have had more consistent success keeping my distance from Eris. Her bullets aren't map wide range and she usually has a decent pause after her dash attack where I can run in and do a burst of damage and run out before she gets too many shots off.
Huh. I tested this combo a few runs back and I still had 2 Cataclysms after picking up Apollo's legend.
4:10 I one got 3 mini chambers! Just RNG I guess
People pronounce Circe like "sersy" a lot, including the game itself, but I think it's actually supposed to be like "keerkeh"
Yeah, but english speaking people always do this with foreign names, I've noticed. They never pronounce it how the name is supposed to be pronounced in the language/country of its origins, but the "english way" instead. Like I guarantee that Eurydice is also not supposed to be pronounced like "yureedeesee".
@@sleeplesstimeI just called her "Euro-Dice" 😎
@@sleeplesstime ya cause that’s how people talk. Chinese people don’t pronounce Italian words correctly, and Ethiopians probably won’t speak Vietnamese properly. That’s how language works lmao
@@z34567890123456 Uh no, that's not how language works. If it would, and you'd be called John for example, I'd be calling you "yon" because J is pronounced like Y in my country. But no, I'd call you John like a normal person lol.
@@sleeplesstime Just for the record since you inquired, Eurydice in Greek would be pronounced (EV-ree-THEE-key) and Circe would be "KEER-key". Note that both end in -ce but that's just due to how Greek gets romanized, as their original sounds are -κη (a K sound and an -ee sound). 'Eu' in Greek is a dipthong that makes the -u (which is typically another -ee sound in any other case) take on a -v sound. An other example would be a Euro in Greek would be pronounced "ev-ROW"
Is that "Are you my daddy?" clip from a movie? If so, which one?
Whats your opinion on the Hestia Poseidon steam?
takes too much to get & proc and it clears scorch which is shit
@@ikelos8190it clears slip not scorching. It is not that shit because it probably deals a lot of damage. You can have a third god for the third curse which can help.
Pretty goodge.
You should try hepaestus and hera duo on aspect of eos
