EASY CROCHET HAT PATTERNS - The Belmont Newsboy Hat / Scally Cap

  • This EASY CROCHET HAT PATTERNS crochet along project features a stylish and chic Newsboy Hat / Scally Cap in a newborn baby size.
    In this EASY CROCHET TUTORIAL, you will make the Belmont Newsboy Hat / Scally Cap in Size 0-3 month. This video is designed to assist with a written pattern available on both Etsy.com and Ravelry.com.
    The digital PDF pattern includes sizes from baby (0-3 months) through adult, plus a bonus 18" doll size.
    The finished hat in 0-3 months size will fit a head circumference of 13"-14".
    Materials you will need:
    worsted weight yarn medium size 4 (Vanna's Choice in color Barley was used in the video)
    hook H/8-5.00 mm
    yarn needle
    Skills you will need:
    chain, single crochet, half double crochet, front post single crochet, magic ring, work in rounds and rows, increasing, decreasing.
    Gauge:
    15 hdc = 4", 11 rows = 4"

    Adorable! It looks like your brim will really hold its shape. Most brims collapse or need a plastic or wire insert but I think yours will hold up. Very nice video and pattern.

    I purchased the pattern few days ago from Etsy & I’ve just finished the adult size. The instructions were so easy to follow I didn’t even need to use this video (sorry) which is good as following videos isn’t easy for me. The cap looks awesome. I used lion brand comfy cotton blend in Driftwood, approximately half of it.
    I feel happier to go out side now I have a stunning cap to keep me warm & look good (chemo). I needed to express my gratitude to you for this perfect pattern. Sorry for the long comment.

    Loved the video. My only issue is that the children in the picture are much older than the hat size you are making. I need it for a 1 year old

    Hi! Hope you dont mind. But i hope you can help me 😊 what if i need different sizes. What do i need to measures from the head of my client aside from the circumference?
    I did a lot of bucket hats but this newsboy hat is very new to me and its so confusing how can i get the perfect measure for it. Thank you in advance. 😊

    You didn’t mention what size of hat you’re making, all you talked about is the size of hook and yarn. Since the pictures shown on the screen is for older kids, after I followed your instructions for a while, I realized it’s a mistake.

      I don't know what size of yarn you are using. You can try holding two strands of your yarn together to make the hat bigger. You need worsted weight yarn (medium size 4) for this project. Thank you for watching!

      round 8 was a total of 72 stitches, round 9 said hdc in each stitch...so total will be 72 as well.

      It starts the same way with the same amount of the stitches. It has more rounds though and bigger circumference.

    Your video does not capture the front post work in its entirety. It cuts off bcuz u will not simply lower ur work for camera. I'm following ur vid to make a gift fir a newborn. Also, I cannot see ur slip stitch work for brim...at all. U need to adjust ur work for the lense please. Please lmk if u hav updated this vid so I can finish this hat.

      Hello! Thank you for watching! This video is my first video ever and I tried my best! I understand what you are talking about but unfortunately I don't have an update! I learned from this video and am doing better in my other videos. Also, the tutorial is not designed to teach a specific stitch and you need to have some basic skills to be able to make the hat. Sorry if I am not more help in this!

    I was assuming this pattern was for a child due to the pic. 😢 I got all the way through the increases and then you said it was for a newborn. You may have aid it in the beginning, but I know how to crochet so I forwarded the video head. Waste of time. Maybe put into the title that it's for a newborn. 🤷‍♀️

    It's false advertisement to show two bigger children wearing the hats that the tutorial goes to . Not everyone reads the subscriptions below.You wasn't clear from the beginning that the tutorial is for a newborn baby.0-3 mo.👎👎

      I wasn't trying to trick you! I mentioned the size in the description and that the hat was going to be a perfect gift for a baby within 30 seconds of the video showing the end result as well.
