I didn't crochet in about 40 years, but when I saw this hat, I knew I had to try it. To see if I still had it in me. Your explanation is so detailed that I could follow it easily. My yarn was a bit too thick and now I have a wonderful hat for a winter that we don't get where I live. LOL. But I'll try it again with a thinner yarn, now that I know how to do it. Thank you!

Hi A! Im making this hat. I love newsboy hats, had a super one back in the day. Still love the style.im using red heart with love and just a note here: the hat is very heavy so i suggest using the lightest yarn and let it be a bit floppy like the originals, unless you have a really strong neck!
    Happy hooking

I was not sure of what color I chose 3 rows of each, black green, yellow and red. The brim is black. My adult son laugh with his eyes wide open that his 66 year old mom made this hat. This is the second one of your hats that I've made that came out perfect!! Actually three because I made two of the 20's flapper style hats. I was getting so discouraged trying things from several other channels with very little success. Most of the hats would fit a sasquatch. Finding your channel may have saved my yarn from a bonfire!! My only regret is that I didn't find you sooner! Thank you SO much!!! RUclips needs to make you easier to find!! Can't wait to try something else. Any suggestions for a newb??

Hey Lydia, This is more of an intermediate crochet pattern. But if you still want to give it a try I can help you slow it down. If you are on your desk top, look for a little gear button at the bottom of your video viewer. Click there and you will be able to slow the video down to your liking. I hope that help.
