  • Hi Everyone 💖
    Join me in making this adorable Newsboy Hat!
    I apologize in advance for the longest video I’ve ever made! Haha! It’s a lengthy process and I wanted to make sure that I didn’t skip any steps.
    Please feel free to skip through the parts you don’t need to watch, that’s totally ok! Haha!
    This hat has been highly requested and I finally got a chance to make it after hurting my thumb and not being able to crochet.
    I’ve made over a hundred of these and somehow I seem to make each one a little differently each time. It’s been a little challenging to make on video. It’s so much easier not having to explain it to anyone. Yikes! Talk about complicated! Haha!

    You did great explaining the process of crocheting this hat. I made this in black #4 yarn. I adjusted the size a bit. #4 yarn from Walmart worked great as that brand #4 is a stiffer yarn.

      Hi Debbie! I think this yarn is hard to find now. It was probably a seasonal yarn, as I found it in the discount section at JoAnn Fabrics around Christmas. You can use any yarn, even a thinner #3 would work if you double the yarn. Hope that helps. Thanks for your comments! I really appreciate them so much 😘😍

      Hi. How I learned to make these hats, is by stopping the videos at each row of stitches, then restarting at the beginning of the next row. Doing this over and over definitely helps so you don’t get lost and overwhelmed. I’ve been crocheting since I was 12/13, when my Paternal Grandma taught me(this was in the early 70s. All I ever knew how to make, were pillows and blankets.

    • @SparklyOne
      @SparklyOne  3 года назад

      I couldn’t give accurate counting due to the difference in yarn that everyone will use. The most important thing is to keep measuring it on your head to get a good fit. it did not work out for me, had to start over twice. Mine was very small and kept on rolling. Your video seem to be skipping through steps or at least skipping some instructions.. did not work out for me at all.

      I’m so sorry it didn’t work out for you. You might have needed to use a larger hook or smaller yarn. We all have a different tension and we need to be flexible. I specifically made the video very detailed so it would make it easier for you. Also, please read some of the comments, as they might help you. I hope you try again. It’s such a cute hat. And, I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to start projects over and over before I could figure them out. It’s always something 😂

    I like your hat but your tutorial is very confused.

      Aw, I'm so sorry about that. It is more of an advanced pattern and can be complicated. I hope you give it a try, stopping and pausing through the steps with me. Let me know if you have an questions or you run into a problem. I'm always here to help! Thanks for commenting!
