I've been crocheting for over 40 years......I can't believe I've never seen the hdc done that way! I love it. I actually like the wrong side better, (and the join doesn't show up as much) so I turned my hat inside out. Thanks for teaching this old dog a new trick Crystal. Love the hat, and you look great in it. :)

But with my memory failing me, those crossy stitches, I keep forgetting them lol, I would love it if you have a hat just like this but with a 1 or 2 easier stitches for people who like 1 type of easy stitch. I hate getting this Alzheimer's, darn it. I have 3 beanies posted on your FB so far, I tonight I finished a bucket hat, and just eyeballed a little visor in the center lol, it is pretty good! Crystal I decided to try this hat today because of the style. I’m left handed and when I was just a kid with my grandmother who was right handed teaching me to crochet. Watching her this is how I would and still to this day work my yarn on the hook. My right side of any crochet project is always in back instead of facing me. Any right handed person can pick up were I left off.
i love the project. i however got the same effect by doing the same thing but forwards. i love your lighting, i was able to see clearly what you doing and able to follow. thank you again for sharing
I think this hat looks better on you than you're giving yourself credit for. I typically don't look great in newsboy style hats either, but maybe I'll give this one a try

I’ve made loads of Crystal’s hats, this one worked up lovely but is the first I’ve done of hers that came up small. I may have missed an increase row. The shape is good and I know a young teen who will like it. Off to make another one a bit bigger for me. Thank you Crystal xx

I just made a cowl using the sc stitch this way. This was the first time seeing this technique. Pretty awesome. Love the hat Crystal!
