Hi Crystal!, I’m working on the making of this hat to match a scarf with the feather stitch from one of your tutorials that you posted before. I’m receiving compliments for all of my projects learned from you. Thank you so much for sharing your crochet skills with all of us 🙏. I love the way you teach !🎉

I made this hat from the tutorial. I absolutely love this pattern! I really like how it turned out using my Redheart Granny Square yarn! I never was able to get it to work for granny squares. 😂. This hat will be donated to the homeless community along with many more. I chose to not add a pom pom for this one. I’d like to send you a picture, but not sure how. Anyway, Thank You for this awesome and easy pattern!!!

I’m an advanced crocheter but wanted to find something simple as I plan on making a box of hats to give to patients undergoing chemo as a way to pay it forward to my amazing doctor and the clinic for personally helping me as I’m a survivor myself. Thanks for another great tutorial Crystal! ❤️😊

I went to your etsy store and got several of the patterns. I'm trying to downsize my 'stash' which includes raw alpaca fleece. I'm also trying to organize inventory for my fiber market day in NW Ohio on Mar 25th where I have an annual booth for the day. So with winter weather very much inside and hands on with spinning, dyeing, and knitting. But crochet is my go to craft. I really love the idea of crocheting stitches that look like knitting. So of course I had to get this ribbed hat pattern so I can learn how to do it. I absolutely LOVE watching all the unboxing videos, too. I've only recently discovered your youtube channel.

My husband chose some combat coloured variegated yarn and said "make a few hats and I'll pick one" ha! Nice eh? But I do have a market to make a load of stuff for. A friend is bypassing the market and has xomissioned me to make a couple of chenille blanket yarn hats for himself and his girlfriend so I might actually get to make some stuff for the market at some point 🤭

I've made this with hdc in blo and turned it into a MESSY BUN hat. I didn't close the top. I crocheted a chain & wove it through the top edges. Voila, cinch it up for a closed hat - leave it open a bit for a ponytail or messy bun.

Love the simplicity of this hat - great for beginners - will give a great sense of achievement.👍🏻Very smart & trendy.

🥰😍 Are you a mind reader? I was searching for a beanie like this! I am making my son-in-law (Outlaw as I call him) a Huskers Beanie. I didn't know their colors are Scarlet and Cream; so glad I looked it up. But, I am going to embroider "Huskers" across the brim area. I want to make him 2-3 different ones, so he will have choices. Thank you for this tutorial! 💚💙💛

Hi Crystal. First thanks for all the years of great videos. I follow you for all my crochet needs most of the time. I need to know how many of this tutorial should I chain for a four year old; five in February. I sponsor two children; a boy and a girl and I'm trying to make a boy's hat. I followed your tutorial for a woman's summer hat to make the girl's and it came out just darling; I guessed at the size though. The girl is three and will be four in October and the boy is four, five in September. I'm looking for tutorials that I can adjust to fit them. Thanks so much, you are a doll- and very loved crochet tutor. hugs, Victoria

This is a wonderful tutorial, if you had a penny for every time someone told you how terrific of a teacher you are, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if you could retire happily right now! But seriously though, some tutorials you'll find you can't understand them because of the poor sound quality or perhaps they're using a yarn color that you can't see well because the yarn is light and their background is also light, sometimes the tutorial goes so slow and some go super fast... You just have a beautiful mastery of hitting a sweet spot, teaching and explaining things simply yet thoroughly, all while having a blast!... thank you, Crystal, for all you do and for who you are. I am amazed how simple the construction of the hat is as you described it, because when looking at a it, it seems very complex and something I would normally find daunting and would hesitate to even try..I absolutely love this hat and plan on getting color requests from my two sons and daughter tomorrow... I live in Dallas and it is still running close to 100° daily, despite it being fall already, but I have learned not to procrastinate in having winter clothes ready to go at a moment's notice. Last year in October , we experienced a 40 to 50 degree drop in temperature over two days...! So although we have very few very cold below freezing days in this part of Texas, my children, hubby, and I will definitely be bundled up in all my crochet goodies thanks to your brilliant tutorials! All the best to you and yours! !

Thank you so much Crystal. For those of you who might not know these types of hats are very easy to modify for the hard to fit head sizes. . My brother has a really large head and can never find a hat to fit. I can never find a crochet pattern for a regular type hat that fits him either. This type hat works well and is easily made larger or smaller.

I'm glad you made yours a little bigger. A while ago I found a similar hat pattern that said it was for an adult - It fit my head but just so and when my husband put it on it was too tight. This is much roomier and in my opinion better to make a hat on the bigger side than too tight. Thank you Crystal!
