    Even though the Atreyu Crochet channel is for beginners, I think it's necessary to build upon the basics. The great thing about crocheting is that even the most complicated of patterns can still be broken down to the very basics of crocheting.
    Don't ever approach a crochet pattern with doubt. Simply break down the pattern and approach it one stitch at a time. If a stitch is foreign to you, then find a RUclips tutorial on it, learn the stitch, and resume with the pattern. Although our starting point is that of a beginner, it is also true that that is not our destination.
    Happy Crocheting! :)

    As usual super instructions and I have now a gorgeous brim on one of my tams….lovely tip about the elastic, this tam was super tight so I didn’t add it but I’ll keep it in mind for a floppier one as my dreads grow even more they add weight …thank you!

    You have the best brim tutorial I have come across. Very detailed and very clear spoken.

    Your use of elastic bead cord to tighten the hat is brilliant! Hat's with acrylic yarn so often end up stretching out over time. I have got to give this a try!
    Also love your technique for making the brim. I have not seen that done before and it comes out really nice on the sides that way. Love it! Thank you for the tips!

      @@AtreyuCrochet I'm working on a hat now that I might try this with. Seems like it would really helps it fit well and not stretch out! Yes, always wonderful to find new tips and new RUclipsrs for crochet ideas!
      Really like the hat you made here also. Do you have a pattern/video for the hat itself?

      No patterns. I want people to watch and follow along with my videos so that it can feel like I’m crocheting right there with them.

      @@AtreyuCrochet Ah, ok. Makes sense. I actually learned to crochet off RUclips and it's still my first stop for patterns. The hands on approach helps a lot when you can see the item being made. :)

    I use OVW's elastic and brim technique also. It is the best I have ever seen and every brim I've ever done since has come out beautifully. Also, I used to just crochet over an elastic string but you could sometimes see it. With this technique, you don't see the elastic unless you really go in with a needle to find it. You did a great job of sharing this.

      Your video is easy to follow, and I especially appreciate you saying it doesn't have to be perfect. I tried to make this brim tight but it's still a little floppy. Next time, I'll tighten up even more on my double yarns, but I've never done doubles before. So I'm proud of my finished job.

    Do you have a video on how to do this hat?

    • @AtreyuCrochet
      @AtreyuCrochet  Год назад

      Not for that specific tam. You can start with this video:
      HOW TO CROCHET YOUR OWN DREADLOCK TAM | Part 5: LET'S BEGIN
      ruclips.net/video/QnVVqL2nwLE/видео.html and Watch through Part 7. This will show you how to crochet a standard tam. In that video I switch colors but you can just use one color to make yours. I hope that helps.
