Hi Mikey! You have helped me so much! I made this hat, the peppermint throw, and the modern granny square blanket; all with your help! I’m running around the house and annoying all my family members with the words, “I made this!” 😘

I am a beginner. When this challenge was going on I barely had any projects completed, so I waited until I was a little more experienced. I am making this right now, and I think this is really easy! Your tutorials are fantastic! Thank you so much for helping people like me learn the craft and have fun!

Love this hat,It does look a little complicated but I'm going to try anyway. I'll never know until I try. I noticed several negative comments here so I am going to take my time, and when ever needed I can pause the video so that I can get a closer look at where you are inserting the needle. Thank you for sharing this beautiful hat.

I love this video. I made this hat 3 different times using only the pattern and although it came out nice, I knew there was something not quite right. Watching you make the hat sealed the deal, I can make it now without even looking at the pattern. Thank You.

I only started watching your videos yesterday having never tried a crochet pattern before. Once I'd watched you demonstrate the first 6 rows it all clicked and the charts made sense. I'm now on row 14 and following the charts easily. Thank you for such clear instructions.

Thanks very much Mikey. Row 5 had me confused, so I went back and tried it stitch-by-stitch and figured it out. Your how-to-video came just in time, I was starting to doubt myself. Thank you to Daniel and Cathy too. bigggggg hugggggg for all of y'all!!!

I have wanted to make this hat for some time - tried it on my own and failed. I was so happy to see this as a challenge - I only had to frog it back to the beginning 3 times then it all clicked what I was doing wrong - I kept having too many stitches but yet you said it was still flat - I was "how could that be" so ripped it back again - then a miracle happened - it worked. I am so very very happy with my new hat - Thank You!

This hat is so much fun to make that I've crocheted 3 so far! I made one with the rim from this pattern (but no buttons), and 2 with a more simple, rounded brim. If you use the H hook (5 mm) and worsted weight (4) yarn, the hat will fit most women perfectly! Now I am trying to create a matching scarf, which is quite a challenge! Thank you so much for the pattern!

It came out so pretty. This is one of my fAvorite item beside the star blanket. Thanks Mikey you are amazing!!!!

i have crocheted for a very long time, and have been teaching some others to crochet. it is slowly becoming a lost art, so i love teaching it. i think this hat would be great to teach, especially since i do it in person. i am going to change the button though. i have a friend who loves flowers on her hat. so i am going to crochet a small flower for each side, and make the button the center of the flower.

I LOVE this pattern. I find I crochet rather tight, so I stepped up to an "I" hook. I have made dozens with this technique and none of them are too small for an average woman. Be sure to choose a yarn that is a weight "4" and try the "I" hook. They are very beautiful and everyone I give one too just raves about the unique and vintage look. Thanks Mikey! You made mastering this pattern a joy!

Thank you, Michael! This tutorial is awesome! I made my first one of these hats tonight, and am getting another color scheme together to make at least a second, if not a third (or more). Admittedly, I looked at the pattern before I found this tutorial and wasn't "seeing" it, but this hat kept catching my eye. You made it SO easy and it worked up so quickly. Thank you for all your work, efforts and clear instruction. I love your channel and website. It's my "go to" for inspiration. Please know that you are very appreciated!

I've ordered the Patons Canadian yarn in 4 different colors in the faded color look. Then I came into the tutorial to see how it is done. I've made the Puff Stitch Slouch- hat [7] for the Granddaughters. Next the 1959 Cloche hat pattern for all the daughters & many others- [22], Lastly crocheted the ribbed beanie caps using 2 strand - solid & a variegated yarn - for all the guys of the family- [25]. Now seeing this one, Oh yes I have to make some of these. Looks so sharp, I'm excited to get started on it when I receive the shipment. Thanks for a sharp looking hat. ps, yes drop the Brand Label soon as you start the instructions.

I wanted to "thank you" - I just finished this using 3 colors. I did expand by 2 rows in the instructions. (Guess I have a big head) and it fits perfect. It is my favorite hat. I think I will make it again and use lighter weight yard and lighter color with small flowers on the side instead of a button - hopefully to use it in the summer time to shade my hair from the sun. Thanks

Thank you for the great tutorial. I haven't attempted to crochet anything in many years (15-20?) so I was really rusty on reading the pattern and I tore it out after a few false starts before finding your video. It was very easy after that and I just finished my hat and I love it! I need to find some cool buttons, but I just tacked the sides up so I could wear it until I get shopping for buttons. Very easy and now I will browse for more projects. I forgot how much I liked to crochet :)

I have read a lot of negative comments about Mikey's instructions. Let me tell you this, technically I am a beginner crocheter, but I do know the "stitches" so to speak. If you really watch him where he puts the hook it will give you a better understanding. So forget the pattern! Watch where he does the chains and you will understand. I am almost done with my hat I simply could not stop! (my husband had to holler at me to come to bed! lol) the only thing I see wrong in the video is that Mikey..... you seriously need a Manicure! LOL! J/K Please keep up the great work that you do on these videos. I really need them!
