Thank you so much for this pattern I love your whole channel and the fact that you do left handed videos I’m interested in learning both to prevent carpal tunnel syndrome in one hand I’m new to crochet and loving it. Even though this is an intermediate pattern because of your clarity I’m having absolutely no problem following along. To start I’m using a bernat colour changing yarn I had in my stash in a 4 with a 4 mm hook just to see for sizing. Thank you so much for this pattern it’s amazing and looking so lovely I’m going in to row 5 💯 awesome.

Y'all. This is a great pattern and lovely design...AND...if you are an adult making this for yourself, you may want to repeat rows 10-14 a third or fourth time before you continue to the final row 10-12 repeat.
First time making a more in depth hat, so as I got closer and closer to the end I wasn't sure if I should add more or if it would work out. It came out looking great, and it also was not big enough for my head. 😆 Now I know for next time!
(Now, it may have been something with my stitching and gauge since I am still a beginner to intermediate level crocheter, but I would encourage you to continue checking the fit as you work through the project.)

    This hat is amazing.
Mickey I couldn’t find the forum to reply to your post of being an “over weight man crocheter” and how you are feeling behind closed doors.
My heart ached for you. As we all know “high school “ can be an unforgiving place. I was overweight w/thin legs. I can’t tell you how I was teased and bullied for 4 years. It has always stayed with me my whole life. Needless to say I’m always watching my weight. There isn’t a diet and/or diet pill I haven’t tried out.
You have been given an absolutely amazing gift to be a crocheter. And you have passed your talent on to others. Personally, I have learned and made things I NEVER would have done on my own.
Please hang in there and find ways to make yourself happy. And if you don’t feel like smiling at someone don’t. We are all human and we just can’t “be happy, happy” every day. And yes those of us who live alone have our moments, that’s why we have yarn and needles and most of all YOU!

Love this hat! I made some modifications and adjusted for a thin #5 weight (Premier Puzzle). Chained 70 and used a 5.25mm hook. Because of the prominent change from HDC to SC due to the size of the yarn, I kept going with the camel stitch and only dropped down 2 levels to the HDC. Changed to SC only when those became invisible. Came out great. I never really understood the starting over at row 10. I just kept going until the size on my head told me to start reducing. Great tutorial!

really loving how this hat is working up
I was originally following the written instructions, and got confused at 11th round, and came to the video for clarification (the written instructions say "*1 blo sc in next 3 sts, fltr below, 1 blo sc in next 4 sts, fltr. Rep from * around"..... this would produce offset treble posts since you'd be alternativing between 3 and 3 blosc)

love thiw hat Mikie. Would love to make one but working on a blanket for a great grandson. its a napping/reading blanket and would love to get it done this month. Old age affects the time i can crochet. Hands cant work as long so trying to not do too much else. I keep coming in to get some new stitches. Trying to do each section in something new for him. Love to listen and watch Mikie. Wish I could have your work ethic. Have a wonderful day.

I know i messed up somewhere but i must say it still came out good. I’m gonna make another one but this time pay closer attention and to change colors. This was helpful. Luckily i figured out early on i need to chain 60 for my head not 80. I really enjoyed this tutorial.

If you mess up, improvise. Seems like you figured it out. It's a fun pattern to create.
