Cheers Damien , yeah that decal really irritates me. I’d of loved to see the HS2 with a clear body, I suppose I can get a repro one and do my own at some point. I like the chrome work but I liked the blockhead version as well. Cheers for watching fella ;)
That looked real nice out there Andy! Definitely overlooked back in the day by me and maybe others and maybe because of the other shots? Plus Boomerang and Sabre and BigWig but definitely on my hit list now! Gorgeous looking buggy!
I love the look of all the hot shots with the minimal body and visible chassis parts. The ability to work on them though for maintenance gives me pause from owning them.
The hotshot cars are great looking cars and the bumper is a nice upgrade. Good to see Mrs R getting involved, my missus would tell me to do 1 if I asked her to film me out with the cars 😂
Cheers I like the bumper as well ;) looks a bit meaner. She’s a good’un my wife, puts up with a lot from me. It’s all about compromise ;)
Tip: Source losi 70-thickness shock oil, and use that in the front shock with a 1-hole piston and see if You can source a stiffer spring, otherwise the front bumper wil continuously slap hard every time You decellerate, jump or brake, wrecking the underside.
Just for fun, I stuck-in one of those cheapie 4300kv China motors with a 13t pinion.. The crazy thing took that in stride. Goes like stink on a hot day. Just don't hit anything with the A-arms. It made it feel a bit like the ori-one I had years ago, that I had crammed the expensive Dynatech o2H in with the 10-turn tuniing rotor. Completely bonkers for the time. Got maaaaybe 3 to 4 minutes on a 1700 Sanyo NiCad..

This is my favourite Hotshot as it was the first and only Tamiya I had back in the previous century 😊 Looks very nice with the little touch, but why no number on the body ? It runs great with the Sport Tuned. Take care 👍🤝
It’s nice. But nothing beats the original Hotshot. Those cool mono shocks. Amazing at the time. Still pretty cool. But I’ll still be getting a HS2. 😀

Great video Andy. Regards to the sand master, unfortunately they are terrible, the transmission is probably the worst of any car I have ever used (I had the kyosho axxe which shared the same chassis). Interesting to see what you think
