I approve of you reacting to Pink Floyd simply because you did not pause the video during this epic solo
I learned my lesson from previous mistakes 😭
Where you asked if the lead singer for Pink Floyd was still alive. He just had a birthday on March 6th he turned 78
@@jerrymills-og8pyI thought he was still in his 60's. Damn, another ten years have got behind him. Time is heavy, but also another great song from this band.
@@JusticeServ... lol... I commented on your studio version reaction of my physical reaction that my heart always feels like it's skipping beats when the violins come on... my wife always holds my hand and smiles... great reaction. I hope you know what this song is about
Agreed! Great reaction brother🎉
That's how we did it in the 70's.................
You get superstar status for not interrupting the guitar solo...aces! This was the kind of stuff we got in the 70s, all live, no lip syncing, no computerized bullshit, just talented artists giving us a show.
Now you know why... half a century later, and this music still stirs the soul. Pink Floyd is iconic!
Kudos for not interrupting the guitar solo.
Pulse.....even after 30 years, it's still one of the very best live concert dvds outright.
Got to see them twice on this tour (Detroit, Chicago)
I was 19 when I went to Earls Court and saw them on the very night they recorded this. Almost 30yrs later and it remains as the best thing I have ever seen.
i was there too my friend still the best menory of my life
Imagine with me... what if EVERYONE had a copy of this song... & all at once.... all over the world... in every heart...we pushed play? Thanks for posting, my friend! Blessings to you & yours! 🙏
As a 63 year old, who has seen this 12 times, enjoy!!!!!!
Congratulations young man you have now experienced the best band of all time and the most epic guitar solo of all time from a guitar God … I encourage you to fully dive into the rabbit hole that is Pink Floyd … it’s very very deep, enjoy your journey.
I like Dave Gilmore but there are way better Guitar solos. Go and listen to Gary Moore live The Messiah Will Come Again his Hendrix covers Parisian walkways Still got the Blues and on and on. Jeff Beck Stevie Ray Vaughn, Roy Buchanon etc.
I was at the New Orleans version of this concert. I am now 74, and still can't get enough of Pink Floyd and this solo. Thanks for not interrupting it. You get an A. . Glad you liked it.
PULSE concert was amazing !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Repeatedly voted the best guitar solo ever! No guitar wanking, every note played beautifully. Pink Floyd are theeeee best.
David rips his heart and soul, serves it directly to ours, deeply out of deepness and leaves us rethinking our existence. This is how the music is supposed to speak to us.
You asked "imagine being high & there.." yes, I can... Cuz I was , 6 times starting in the early 70's throughout their years. The most phenomenal band ever, not even close. And that guitar performance by David Gilmore is widely recognized as the most iconic in history. It absolutely thrills me to see fine young people like yourself discovering Pink Floyd and their music, and their amazing live performances. I've seen reactions with some saying "Oh my God" as they listen and see this...and reactions where they sit stunned in overwhelming emotions, with tears flowing from their eyes. Nothin sums up Pink Floyd better than that. "Their music pulls each of us in, in a very personal way"... And whether it's joy or tears, we're astonished and glad it it did. " You don't listen to Floyd, you feel them ."
PF started their musical career in the 1960's. Their main creative force was then Syd Barret, but Syd became a victim of drugs and was unable to continue to perform. From those early days the music & light shows were experimental. As time went on they got really good! Dave joined before Syd quit. Keep Reacting!
So I told my son when he was 10 that he should listen to The Wall.
He's been OBSESSED with Floyd ever since (he's now almost 13).
You're never too young to be introduced to the greats 😊
It makes me so happy seeing the younger generation exploring the music that came before.
It's beautiful.
That is as close as you will ever come to experiencing Pink Floyd in concert.
The Pulse concert was the ultimate audio-visual experience.
Pulse Concert - The Great Gig In The Sky..........the background singers get to shine on this one.
Great reaction....The Great Gig in the Sky MUST be next ;)
But the better version is from "The Delicate Sound of Thunder" video with Rachel Fury, Durga McBroom and Margaret Taylor singing backup.
@@boroblueyes I stood 10m from all three girls on that tour in Australia. They sounded like angels were singing. 15,000+ people there if I recall, outside on a hot night in summer. The band never sounded better.
Margaret Taylor is a smokin hot lady.
@@GM-fh5jp Nice, I wasn't that lucky. I was near the 30 yard line when they played at Grant Field in Atlanta. They were just Angelic! And yes, Margaret is just gorgeous.
This is considered by some as the best guitar solo of all time. However, I gotta give props to Stevie Ray's Texas Flood live at the El Macambo as the very best.... and I love PF. If you haven't seen it... it's a must-watch.
Don't sweat it. Your mic is fine. Do what you can do until you can do better. We love your vids regardless. It's all about the presentation!
"Can you imagine seeing this concert stoned?" Now why didn't we think of that?😂
🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣
😂😂😂
I did at Earls Court in London on the night they performed Dark Side in it’s entirety
Oh we did, young man, we did!
Hey…it was ALL about being high, and listening to this!
Just imagine, this was just another radio song, in the days of classic rock.
Peace
We were all high back then lol
Pink Floyd shows always had a lovely smelling blue haze everywhere.
Now, too.
Still am 😂
On ditch weed
@@warrenm374 let the seeds roll out on tilted album covers.
This solo is the sound of resolute anguish. Trapped pain scratching at a cell it can never leave.. The greatest solo of all time. Also, if you bought this album in the 90s, it had a blinking red light on it that went on for years.
Just imagine being an 8 year old boy and seeing Pink Floyd live as you very first concert? This was me when an older Brother took me to Pink Floyd so The Dark Side of the Moon back in 1973, I was 8 years old and have loved them ever since.
A masterpiece from a masterful band!! Probably the best band ever.....
I believe you would enjoy the entire Pulse concert, I'm enjoying watching your reaction to the Greatest Band of all times, Hope you do the entire concert, God Bless
If you got that kind of reaction from watching on a small screen and hearing through headphones . . Imagine what it was like to BE THERE!
Surrounded by thousands of other people. . The colors. . The lights. . .
𝑺𝑶𝑼𝑵𝑫 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝑷𝑼𝑵𝑪𝑯 𝒚𝒐𝒖 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒕𝒍𝒆 𝒚𝒐𝒖𝒓 𝑩𝑶𝑵𝑬𝑺!
It would have been overwhelming . . They say when the crowd left the gig, they were completely silent. . . Minds blown and totally speechless at what they had just experienced.
Dave, the master, the king, the God of guitar solo's.
"Imagine being high listening to this" lol. Dude I was tripping at this concert. It was incredible.
4 hits of white blotter.
Same here 😁😁👍👍👍👍
Hmmm I couldn't possibly imagine what that would be like...hehehe
I saw Floyd at a football stadium. So many people smoking that it was like sitting in the bowl of a bong.
I watched them play this in concert in the eighties! This whole album is incredible! It wasn’t just a concert, it was an Experience!!! Thank you for checking them out!!
Just , Pink Floyd was and will ever be > just a Masterpiece of... MusicArt ... all they did
Solo gives me chills every time
I was lucky and privileged to be at this concert.
no phone...just pure music....just the bliss....an incredible moment
My favorite Pink Floyd guitar solo!!
I’m so excited for this reaction! It’s one of the best Lives Ever from the best band of all time! You just started the video & I’m stoked! I know how much you are gonna love this! Love your reactions! Don’t worry about your equipment…you’re doing great… it will all come to you as you grow! I love when you get up, I can feel how it makes you feel! ✌🏻☀️
Killing it bro
AMEN BROTHER!
Fair play to you listening to this elite solo without pausing like most reactors
I was at this concert. Ahoy, Rotterdam. 1993. Best acoustics ever. Better than the CD. I was in the arena under the ball... when it opened, everybody just stood their with their mouths open 😂😂😂 Awesome experience. ❤
One of my greatest regrets in life not going to see this in concert in California 😕
This is what happens when actual musicians Love and respect their music. Most important rules when reacting to Pink Floyd. 1) NEVER EVER pause during a David Gilmour 2) Never take your eyes off of the performance. Pink Floyd is a Visual experience as well Musical. Floyd builds the show to connect to and pull your emotions to the surface. Every song performed at this concert was built to do the same thing that this song did. Ill recommend Sorrow and Keep Talking next.
Rule number 1 is never pause during ANY guitar solo regardless of who it is
Yep. It’s one of the greatest.
I’m 44 - twice your age. My reaction was the same as yours when I saw this.
Almost made this show but I was a little too young to make it. Still hurts.
Whole concert is sweet.
Same here, was asked if I wanted to go and said no as I hadn't heard much of them at the time, didn't think it was for me...biggest regret of my life!
lol... Hello Kids!
This concert happened 30 years ago. Go back another 21 years and experience Dark Side Of The Moon! You won't forget it.
Welcome to the most amazing musical rabbit hole you can enter. In short Pink Floyd is the finest band to step on stage or studio. You will find that you will experience Pink Floyd music. Enjoy the ride my young friend.
I'm only 40. I've been hearing this band my entire life. I love seeing this music being passed on to the generations after mine. That is the meaning of timeless. ✌️☝️🫶
Pulse SORROW! Echos, live at Pompeii
This is the third reaction I've seen you on with Floyd, and have enjoyed each one.
Welcome to the rabbit hole!
David fkn Gilmour!! That man has been giving me goosebumps for 40+ years!! ❤❤
Betcha didn't expect that epic 4 min guitar solo ! You just heard one of the best live guitar solos ever recorded. David Gilmore is a guitar monster !! Their song Comfortably Numb is one of their best known and best loved songs of all time. Keep on rocking !!
My favorite guitar solo for the last 45 yrs!
The greatest band of ALL time doing their thing! I realize I'm a biased Pink Floyd megafan...but if you're interested in more of their live performances, literally any track from this concert (pulse) is phenomenal. Second set they break out Dark Side of the Moon in its entirety with this Numb performance one of three encores. If you havent experienced Dark Side yet, buckle up my friend. Do yourself a favor. Its now over 50 years old and celebrated to this day for a reason. I dont know your particular taste in music but the music and lyrics (no bullshit) will change your life. Guaranteed.
As a side note, dont think this Eagles fan doesnt see that Hurts jersey hanging up! Lets hope the coordinator changes they made this offseason make him and the team unpredictable and unstoppable. Go Birds!
I always love when new fans get that "stank face" for the first time.
No cell phones in the 90's, It was actually delightful 🙂
It's always to see the younger generation discover the music of my generation. We knew how to rock!!
Your title deserves the all caps. It is regarded by many to be among, if not the, finest guitar solo ever recorded, and it was Live.
I got to see the Pulse concert in Dallas at Texas Stadium. The one with the giant hole in the roof, the same size as the field. During the Cowboys games, players got wet while the fans stayed dry. During the concert, the lasers would often go out through the hole, and had to wonder what people must have thought in the surrounding area.
Thank you for reacting to PF, you have only scratched the surface, enjoy.
My all time favorite song by one of my all time favorite bands.
The thing most people do not get with Pink Floyd is you do not listen to Pink Floyd, you experience Pink Floyd.
Have you seen the movie for Pink Floyd "The Wall" album this song comes from?
If not you should check it out.
It is an experience you will never forget.
Also, watching the movie will give more context to this song.
I get goosebumps just knowing that old man in the black t-shirt is about to show off X10
"ECHOES" Live in Pompeii 1971/72
No need to apologize about things like the phone comment. You've never known any different and those kind of generational comments make a react video interesting. Love seeing a 22yo react to diff era's/styles of music. It's just awesome that you're even hearing this. Keep up the good work.
I saw this concert twice, on May 23 and 24, 1994, Montreal Olympic Stadium. My employer (Labatt Breweries of Canada) was the sponsor for the three shows in Montreal, they were offering employees discounted tickets, in addition to a draw of a few dozen tickets. I bought mine for May 23 and I won those (a pair) for May 24. Some people have asked me, "Why are you going to see this show twice?" When they finally saw the DVD of this show a few years later, they understood why I was there twice.
From the same Pulse Concert, please check out SORROW and also RUN LIKE HELL.
Love you review and happy you loved it. I graduated in 82 and this song was 79. I don’t know why but o believe our Lord whispered into David’s ear and said I need a fav. Compose for me on how the earth and heaven sounded to him as he formed our world. I may have been stoned first time hearing this but no longer. Best solo ever.
It's Really Awesome that some of y'all's generation Appreciates the Classics. Respect
The greatest solo of all time !
The video of the P.U.L.S.E concert is as close as you can get to what a Pink Floyd Concert was like! They put on one hell of a show!
God bless you young man for realizing great talent. David Gilmore is a guitarist and he just tears it up. So soulful hurtful and so much feeling.
Look at the stage lighting and production at this concert for the time. It was done absolutely phenomenal ❤❤
Before cell phones we held up our lighters, thousands of lighters with all that hairspray
I remember seeing this broadcast live on TV. My mate said he was there and I'm still jealous.
The greatest solo ever recorded
51 years ago they came out with the album Dark side of the moon, 2 songs you defiantly need to hear are "Time" and "Great Gig in the sky". They are both on the Pulse concert as well.
Your audio was perfect my friend.
I have seen some of the most iconic bands on the planet. Floyd was an experience light years beyond the next best bands on the list. 7th row....center stage. It was a spiritual experience....
Welcome to the machine!!! Pink Floyd does not disappoint!!
Greatest of all time! Pink Floyd.
So much effort in delivery, lights, female accompaniment, keyboards really amazing.
The only person that could top a David Gilmour solo would be another David Gilmour solo.
Keep listening. After 50 years and more as a Floyd fan it never leaves you. Open up the door and walk into a world of magic. Listen to Dark side of the moon right through. Best album of all time.
Yup.. you are quite right... it IS the best guitar solo of all time.. Simple as. Thank you for the reaction...
Awesome concert, Pink Floyd is without equal.
I was born in 1960, and consider anybody from my generation that listened to rock to be spoiled. Just consider the groups that were producing music during those times, and how many people react in amazement to songs 45 or 50 years old. And I consider a group that can take a good song and play it even better live, is a mark of greatness. And Pink Floyd usually did just that.
If you liked this song and the guitar solo, watch the UNCUT version from same concert, the version you watched cut over a minute out of the guitar finale. Even if you watch and don't record for a reaction, I am sure you will appreciate it. (The reason is that David Gilmour, the guitarist, thought he heard an 'iffy note' so edited it out. My thought is that even if that is true, and I think I know which note he meant, it lasts only a second, and I would rather hear the other minute and change of guitar greatness, thank you very much!!)
And when watching a live Pink Floyd show, remember to pay attention to lights/effects, they are known for them. I have seen them twice, and they have done things that no other group would dare, and no group would be allowed to do today, I am sure. In fact, they did something I KNOW is illegal, and it was all for a DIVERSION so they could sneak out before the crowd was aware of their leaving!!
You are doing just fine, a pleasure to watch your reactions.
Young man, you say you were not even alive... I was in the middle of that crowd at Earl's Court, out there celebrating with my wife after we'd discovered she was carrying our first child :) We hadn't told anyone else yet, it was too early...
I've been lucky enough to catch PF live three times. This one was the most epic of all. And not just because of the special personal circumstances.
Glad you enjoyed the concert. I worked on the stage crew for Pulse, Canada tour.
that is called playing with feeling and emotion
And that right there young man is why Mr Gilmore is the absolute GOAT!🎸🌈🪩💎🧱 You are correct in your assumptions, there is no finer solo to be found then that one. I can't even begin to describe to you what it was like being on the floor of the auditorium when that giant mirrorball dropped down and the spotlights lit it up, the video really does not do the experience justice.
great reaction, the whole pulse concert is amazing, id recommend you react to TIME
or SORROW from the same pulse concert, aswell as many other pink floyd songs
Do all of Pink Floyd Live because you get the best of both sound with the visual and you won't be disappointed. Studio Version is nice but his Live Performance will take you to another World 🌍.
You’re doing fine and your equipment is good enough. Thank you for watching the music of this generation.
yeah ! and now Sorrow from the Pulse Concert
Two more from this concert… Sorrow and On the Run! Actually the whole concert is awesome!
🎼There is nobody like David Gilmour. The man is a guitar legend.☮️
That guitar solo seemed never ending...and it shouldn't have ended.
Yea it should’ve kept going 😭
next one from Pulse concert - Coming back to life = 3 good guitar solo . 🎸🎸🎸🎶🎶
I love playing this on my Bass guitar, It takes me back to my youth. I would say, that the studio version (on the album) is on a different level.
One of the greatest live videos ever. I would only rank Phil Collins In the Air Tonight , live Paris 2014 as slightly better. Greatest guitar solo I have ever heard.
2:05 I actually don't have to imagine that. And yeah, it's awesome.
The amazing thing is this clip doesn't even have the full 2nd solo. About 1 minute 30 seconds or so was cut out of it. There is the 'un-cut' version floating around on RUclips.
No apologies needed. Thanks for sharing.
The best Live Guitar Solo ever Recorded. My Opinion.
this shit was INSANE live I wish I was there
