“Relaxing” is an interesting adjective to describe what is perhaps the most scathing sociopolitical commentary ever set to rock music.

Some people are attuned to the music, which is pretty relaxing.
Others are attuned to what is being said. Which indeed, is a complete teardown of modern socioeconomic structure.

@@MhantraxI’m not going to deny that the album has moments of relaxing music, I’m just trying to say that relaxing probably isn’t the best adjective to assign to the album on the whole, and that if you were to tell Roger Waters “hey I just listened to Animals, thanks for the relaxing music!” his reply would likely be to scold you for not really listening and to try again lol

Older friends introduced me to "The Wall" film when I was 14, in 1986, and I was mesmerized. It hit me so hard. I was and still are a very emotional person, so The Wall movie just fucked with me emotionally. It was not until many years later, someone I was dating had a uncle who was cool with me, he xmas gifted me "Wish You Were Here" in 1996. "Shine On" is 26 minutes in total? What?? I lost my mind. Animals followed, then Dark Side (perfect LP), then "Meddle" (Echoes is my favorite song of all time at 23+ minutes. Just glorious), then the technically Roger Waters solo LP released under the Pink Floyd brand "The Final Cut" is fucking gorgeous and emotional. True legends. Fuck the beef. They did it. It's done. Bow down!

You know what's nice about Pink Floyd? It's that you're up to a surprise for EACH of their albums. And they have A LOT of albums covering multiple decades! I reiterate my suggestion that I made on another video : you should react to Live at Pompeii or Meddle. It's from their experimental years and Echoes is certainly a must for you to react if you wanna go the Pink Floyd rabbit hole. It's a kind of Shine on You Crazy Diamond equivalent (a long musical piece). And before Echoes you had Atom Heart Mother as well... And the darker mood of Ummagumma... and so many others. Anyway ; love your reaction man, keep it up.

Echoes live at Pompeii is brilliant, part one is music and singing, part two was mostly recorded in Paris, with more 'sounds' at the start and then bits of part one repeated, and then both parts were given a final edit. There is a wicked base line that kicks in, it goes into every part of you. Can't wait to see you react to it.

We were lucky enough to have grass passes so we were close to the stage. They flew a huge pig like the one on the album cover and when it flew over it exploded in the parking lot and damaged cars, lol we were all so high we thought it was part of the concert. If you react to "The Wall" next, you might want to do 2 or 4 videos for this double album. You probably won't fully understand the story the music tells until you see the movie they made. I've never seen a reaction to the movie, so I don't know if it would be allowed. Would it make sense to make reaction videos to the music, then watch the movie off-camera, and then talk about the movie?

I get it a bit though, this is a record I would put on, drop the blinds, and lay back to listen (true, most PF back in the day).. the lyrics and content to "get" PF require a lot of patience, which I can see you have.. the thing is, the whole album was considered a heavy statement about society in general (a la 1984, by Orwell) anyway, I really enjoy your reactions and look forward to more... (p.s. My favorite on this album is also "Sheep" - but also, RIP to genius Richard Wright on keys & synths.. sound like dogs, pigs, sheep.. )

absolutly love that you are listening to full Floyd albums. You cant really experience the Floyd listening to random individual songs. During the Roger Waters years, each album is like a book, each song a chapter in the book. You can listen to individual songs and they are great, but when you hear the whole thing in its entirety, its different world, mind blowing epic level great.

Listen to it again, listen to the lyrics and research the meaning behind the animals...read George Orwell's 'Animal Farm' and it will bring a whole new perspective.
    Love your videos! ❤

What I find interesting, is that a 22yr old can listen to music recorded 47yrs ago, but still relate to it.
When I was 22, listening to music recorded 47yrs earlier was unthinkable because that would have meant listening to stuff from the 1920's and 30's!😂😂😂

Animals is an amazing album, next come The Wall, its a double album and also should be listened to the whole way though, and tells a great but dark story.

Your right songwriting does carry on sometimes from album to album. Try the Band Rush. If you want to hear a story. The 2112 album might be a good place to start.

You should get 🍁 🔥 twice as nice when listening to Pink Floyd. It helps to be in that mindset. 😅

My second fave PF album. Read Animal Farm...it is a quick read and the inspiration of this album! This is why my generation dismisses a lot of pop and hip hop!

Interesting that you said how relaxing this album is, when in reality it's maybe Floyd's most aggressive album from the sound and lyrics.
But you are absolutely right, it is relaxing and aggressive at the same time, and that's an art only the best of the best can accomplish, like Pink Floyd.
Love your album reviews and I think it's awesome that younger people are eager to explore the music of the past. With Pink Floyd you have opened a big rabbit hole of music.
They are my second favorite band behind only Led Zeppelin.
I think you've already reacted to some Led Zeppelin songs, but it would be great to also react to some complete albums of them. You will not be disappointed, the first four albums has no bad songs, one great song after the other. Maybe you give it a try. Keep up the good work, sir.
Oh, and sorry for my bad english, I am from Austria.

About the second song. Dogs are used in Animal Farm as a force like military or police, but in this song theyre being compared to greedy businessmen
"You have to be trusted by the people that you lie to, so that when they turn your backs on you, you'll get the chance to put that knife in"
In the book, the farmer would tie a rock to his dogs when they got too old and lost their teeth, and throw them in the river to drown, hence the lyrics
"and when you lose control, you'll reap the harvest you have sewn, and as the fear grows the bad blood slowly turns to stone"
"So have a good drown, as you go down all alone, dragged down by the stone."

I could be totally wrong but I always felt that since the dogs are dead this piece starting around 12:46 sounds a lot like funeral march either way it's fantastic and do you see the pig floating between the chimney
