David Gilmour looks like he has gone for a walk to the corner shop to buy a newspaper, but he then plays the greatest live guitar solo ever. Pure genius, voice of an angel, what a musical legend.

I totally agree, Please continue to see how far the Pink Floyd rabbit hole goes, it is a journey that your Heart, Spirit and Soul will enjoy, watch the entire Pulse concert, I'm sure when you get to the song Great gig in the sky, a song that portrays in raw emotion the transition of leaving life, the stages of dying starting with denial, anger, fear, resistance and finally acceptance, you will indeed want to see how far the rabbit hole goes, You are not alone, I'm extremely happy to see younger generations discover Pink Floyd, Please understand that all their albums are designed or recorded to be listened too nonstop from start to finish, each song blends into the next, and it's best to put on a pair of headphones or ear buds, turn your phone off, lay back in a dim lit room and enjoy the experience of the album from start to finish, I loved your reaction it touched you as it does myself and many others, God Bless.

Love Pink Floyd. One of our best. Also love youth taking the time to listen to our rockin' past. There is variety aplenty with music styles in this era. Have you heard "The river Styx" by Styx? This was another popular style with devoted fans who bought everything Styx produced. (Once reviewed, people in comments may name the one other group that used the same style. Both shared a big fan base. Myself and present company can not recall that other band, ages 55 and 79) Get that old rock n roll, girls!

  • @thepragmatic6383

You don't have to apologize for letting your emotions out with Pink Floyd.
Even though I saw this show two nights in a row, and I have seen this video hundreds of times, I still get goosebumps every time I watch it.
This is what happens when lyrics are much more than just a series of words meant to rhyme.
And that music is much more than a simple series of notes and chords intended only to become the "hit" of the present moment.

    • @ReinodeClioCaminhosdaHistoria
      @ReinodeClioCaminhosdaHistoria 6 месяцев назад

When you know that the song's lyrics are about Roger Waters' day of back pain and medical treatment, it seems rather trite. But each person has their own pains and reliefs and can let words affect them in the most personal way. But Gilmour's voice is beautiful and his guitar solo is the most beautiful of all time. Avoiding tears is a task with minimal chances of success.

65 years have got behind me now - 42 years since I first heard this song played on the radio one evening while driving near Riverside California. When the first couple notes of the first guitar solo started, I instantly recognized the man behind it as the one and only David Gilmour, Grand-Master of the instrument. When the second guitar solo began, I had to quickly pull over into a large grocery store parking lot and park the car so I could finish listening without the distraction of driving, so great was the emotional impact on me hearing it for the very first time. I literally had goosebumps en masse as the power of that 2nd Gilmour guitar solo FILLED me, washing over, around, and THRU me! I’d had other music stir my soul and move me deeply before, but that first time hearing Gilmour’s guitarwork in Comfortably Numb was something else indeed! It was a depth of feeling and emotion beyond anything I’d ever experienced with music before! 42 years later and that memory is just as clear to me as if it happened yesterday. I’ll never forget it. David had me as a fan for life at that point. Since Comfortably Numb, so many other deeply emotion-evoking guitar solos have come out of David and thru his guitars like liquid feeling, each a MASTERPIECE of moving musical artistry. The guitarwork that begins when his vocals stop in Pink Floyd’s “SORROW” from their “Momentary Lapse Of Reason” album … The guitar interplay with Wright’s keyboard in “CLUSTER ONE” from “The Division Bell” album … his guitarwork on the last half of their song “ON THE TURNING AWAY” from “AMLOR” … his SOARING guitar composition that is the last half of the song “A GREAT DAY FOR FREEDOM” … his guitarwork in “WEARING THE INSIDE OUT” and “COMING BACK TO LIFE” … and that MASTERPIECE of emotion-evoking Gilmour guitarwork in “MAROONED” will take you out of this world!
Then there’s his guitarworks on his album “Rattle That Lock”: “FACES OF STONE”, “IN ANY TONGUE”, and the opening and closing tracks, “5 A.M.” & “AND THEN…”. The guitar composition in those latter two run deeply thru my heart & soul.
By the way, I’m 90 miles south of you here in Arkansas. We’re practically neighbors :-)

This was in the encore for the concert. The next number, Run Like Hell is an exercise in how to finish a rock gig. Prior to the encore the second half of Pulse is a live version of their multi-million selling masterpiece album, Dark Side of the Moon for the first (and last) time in years. However, you should listen first to the studio version, preferably for yourself in one go rather than try for reaction videos, track by track. Floyd make albums as art, each on a theme with tracks melting into each other in a series of wonderful transitions which is why its best to do the whole album in one listen to get the full experience which is pretty mind blowing. The DSOTM is widely regarded as perhaps the best rock album recorded and its impact at the time -1973- was nothing short of nuclear. So find a spare 45 minutes, listen to it all the way through, maybe with the lights down...burning incense optional😊. Its a truly mind boggling ride.

Omg...I cried, the guitar solo connected to my soul, (I swear) how is this not on the radio? Nobody in this generation can compare to this unbelievable song, period. I'm going to find their album tomorrow. ❤😢❤

Make sure you listen to Dark side of the Moon.
Not just song by song but listen to the whole album as one long song.
      Best album ever.

What was really cool about that moment with the giant disco ball… that thing came out of nowhere. It’s not like it was just hanging there the entire concert, waiting for this moment. It surprised the hell out of everyone when the lights hit it! Pure magic.

Greatest live concert - well, out-of-body experience - ever created, from its eerie opening to the thermonuclear finale almost three hours later.
Have a seat and a few boxes of Kleenex, and enjoy the entire PULSE concert sometime. You’ll never be the same afterwards.

I saw him live in 1984 and it blew me away! The emotion hits you because you can feel it in David’s guitar mastery, it’s like it’s every single deep experience you’ve ever had all rolled up in his guitar solo, added is his incredible soft yet powerful voice! It’s so moving you can’t help but shed some tears! I’ll never forget it. It’s been 40 years since I saw him live, seems like yesterday when I hear it again, thank you for sharing this highly emotional song💯🎸🙏🥰❤️

It is so refreshing to see the younger generation appreciating the art that is pure music making of bands such as Pink Floyd. You must listen to the whole album and understand the story though. These songs, although fantastic on their own, are part of a bigger picture. There are stories told by the albums and some songs are also telling stories of the bands personal struggles and difficulties. It is fantastic to see your emotional reaction to this one song alone. Always, always let your emotions come out with music. I do.
