Really appreciate your “physical” review of this knife. The fact that you actually put it to use and physical accomplished tasks with it. I get so tired of these table top reviews in which the reviewer just goes on and on........ I don’t own a Benchmade, but this model has caught my eye. It takes a lot for me to drop over a hundred dollars on a knife. This knife is unique enough in design and function in a practical since that I’m compelled to own it, specially after your review. Thanks
Thanks for the informative presentation. Was nice to see someone doing a knife video actually putting it to use and not talk and open and close the blade incessantly, which is friggin annoying. Thanks again
This will make a great EDC folder. Light and slim with a deep carry clip. I've got one on order. I have many other knives for heavy duty work. Thank you for the review Chris! Thumbs up from me.
For the people who knocked the handle material it’s made out polymer not plastic same as glock handle material very awesome 👏 review and I just got one sharpened it on my spyderco sharpmaker to a 20 degree angle 📐 seriously sharp knife my new favorite knife get a spyderco sharpmaker from blade hq use the 40• angle to get 20 degrees then strop it with a flexstrop amazingly sharp
I really do like this knife, perhaps my favorite in the present Benchmade line-up, and I think it would make for a perfect urban EDC folder. I certainly wouldn't take it on a camping trip, or pound the shit out of it to split wood. Unfortunately, I think the knife is way overpriced - at half that amount, perhaps. Nowadays, there's just too many similar knives that serve the same purpose at a fraction of the cost. For example: the K-Bar Dozier. 🤔
$130 light duty knife. Can't you find a knife for way less money, that is perfectly equal to light duty work? It's too much money for too little knife. Do you really need S30V to slice an apple and packing tape? They're selling you pride of ownership in S30V, and the Benchmade name.
Lol we did far more than that. But not all find value in the same things or hold any priority for some things over others... Some folks are car junkies and own dozens... some think it’s a waste of money.... how the world works
J Allen i own a freek... Great knife... But with my work pants its kinda hard to get in and out (handle material) gonna sell it. The bug out is a great knife
Interesting how he felt the need to use two hands (second hand pushing on the back of the blade) when cutting the rope on the table top. Is there not enough backbone to bear down on the blade? I've handled these in a store but just can't make myself buy it. I want to like it. It's aesthetics are awesome.
Chris, I would call this an Emergency Bug out knife as it would be useful in such cases as when you are in your car and you brake down or when you have an emergency and need to hit one of your Bug out cashes. It's cheap enough that you can get a few of them for each Bug out cash you make so that there's always some kind of blade in the kit but is sturdy enough to perform the simple task of a larger knife. As for sharpening the blade, CrazyIrishMedic, you can get diamond sharpeners off Ebays for dirt cheap. This will help you in keeping the blade sharp in the field. And Note the Diamond knife sharpeners are better suited for the Harder steel on the market for Sharpening. I would say that for Batoning, this would be an in an Emergency use knife only. As a EDC for out right every day use. A.K.A. Utility use. This knife is right up that alley as it will out perform in that area.
Drop forged what would u recommend for a buget friendly knife sharpener that not electric and if my knife gets dull I can just quick and easily sharpen it not a edc but something I could use on a camping trip. Also love your vids keep it up
anthy aguirre I agree with what has been said already. However, if you only have a $20 bill or that is all you want to pay, I feel it is hard to beat the Ka-bar Dozier. The most solid sub-$20 knife ive used, excellent ergos, blacked out pocket clip and can be opened/closed one handed once you break it in. The downsides are that the thumb stud has pretty agressive gimping (bit uncomfortable with extended openings) and it has a budget steel in Aus 8. However, i used it at my part-time job to cut rubber and rope constantly with decent wear. I would swipe it on a ceramic rod once or twice a week and it worked great.
#DropForgedSurvival I really don't see this as an outdoor/backpacking knife, but it does look like a great EDC blade. I would rather use my grizzle ridge for hiking/camping and keep the Bugout for EDC.
The4cp ,, it’s super priced! i rater go whit ganzo firebird! i have one ganzo and a benchmade and bout have a really good file and grip! but, it’s ap to everybody witch one to chose and how much you want to pay.

Today the Bugout is a wildly popular knife but I would not use it for true Bugout applications. Your batoning was extremely light. I've seen the Axis lock fail under average batoning.
DropForgedSurvival. I hear it's like a budget delica option and will probably buy when save up for it leek is getting old had it for 2 years got it when I was twelve
I just don't understand the allure of benchmade. $115 for for s30v and a polymer grip? Yeah it's U.S. made but so is buck and they've got 3.25" s30v blades with g-10 for almost half the price. Buck has quality control issues but so does benchmade. So what is it I'm not seeing? I'm not trying to be negative just trying to understand benchmade.
Im here to test the new and see what is what. I dont make anyone buy anything. That is all their prerogative. Buck has too many blades I dont like so I just leave them be. I wont lie I was intrigued by a 1.85oz knife that is supposed to be tough.
I was just trying to gain some insight into this brand, A LOT of people say benchmade is the best folding knife maker but I never hear them say why it is the best ( especially the 940) I thought you might know. I don't like buck too much either, cold steel, kershaw and kizer are my go to brands.
The 940 is a gentlemans knife in my opinion. I personally dont like it too much. The Brand is a solid one overall. Cold Steel, Some Benchmades, and im still tracking down my 3rd go to. "Gerber, Schrade, and Buck" are currently not on my go to list at all.
Mt. Baldwin part of the reason that benchmade costs more is because all their knives are US made. Other companies have a ton of knives made in Asia which have huge profits and allow them to sell their US knives at lower profits. You're also paying for outstanding warranties, lifesharp, and great customer service. Also, not all made in the US labels are created equal. Many have foreign parts and materials, and are assembled here with some domestic parts. Benchmade is all US steel and parts. I've had a ton of knives, and I always come back to BM.
Titanium is stronger than Most steels. ALOT stronger. There are some grades that arent. But for the Weight to Strength Ratio.. It is Strong as hell. however it doesnt have the best wear resistance which is where my slight worry for this blade lock comes into play.
I have the real one and the replica that is goes for $20 off Chinese websites. They are exactly identical but the Chinese one has is not as good quality steel. Crazy what a killing BM is making off these knives.

Nice as a back up knife. Perfect for small tasks. I love that benchmade has been expanding there line to accommodate all. Great video as always bud!
For an ultralight knife. It did very well.
I just ordered this today. Really excited
Awesome!
This will make a great EDC folder. Light and slim with a deep carry clip. I've got one on order. I have many other knives for heavy duty work. Thank you for the review Chris! Thumbs up from me.
Mine finally came in! Great review! So lite and razor sharp!
Thanks.. I like mine alot... Tough little bugger.
You win the prize for the most nerve wracking music on You Tube!
very excited for this knife.. looks like they took the good mechanics from the griptillian and added a better blade..
I can concur with that statement
For being 1.85oz. It held up like a champ!
That it did! I was pretty impressed given its weight.
S30v is better than 154cm, but cpm154 (the powdered version) is just as good as s30v I think. Thanks for the review!!
For sure.
I’ve had the bugout for right around 3 or 4 years and I’ve put that thing through hell and it’s still the best edc I’ve ever had

It is a solid Nano weight Knife for sure.
Nice little knife!!! It does suck that it doesn't have a 90 degree spine for fire starting.
It was a tad surprising. I wont lie
Good test, and I just ordered this as my first benchmade knife 🖒🖒
My first also!
Same
I get the feeling it's going to be the first of many benchmades for me

Nice review, man.
The Late Boy Scout Thanks. Benchmade did solid work on this model
Cool knife no doubt. I think this is a good edc option. But if I was going to get a Benchmade I'd probably go with the Freek
If someone likes a 4-6oz blade. There are ALOT of super tough option.. but for the Strength to weight ratio... it is a solid little knife.
J Allen i own a freek... Great knife... But with my work pants its kinda hard to get in and out (handle material) gonna sell it.

YOU'RE aesthetics are awesome! -_- You bought one yet? Ya' scaredy poos-poos? ;P
Doesn't really look like a ''backpack folding knife'' to me, I'd prefer stronger and tougher knives for that.
This feels more like a perfect EDC.
I wont lie... No clue in the world why they chose the darn name... but it held up in my tests... Yes. Good EDC Blade.
Beast of the Far East My sentiments exactly. Its the last knife I'd choose for bugging out. Light duty EDC, yeah, all day ling.
Can you please do some dugout stuff like cool items, I'm getting a little sick of knifes. Just something to shake things up
Ummmm... Have you seen my feed?
I haven't seen any Dugout items. Do you recently take up baseball and I missed it? :D

Nice and Tough little Blade!

Love this knife but i carry my aegis mini cuz i dont want to hurt the blade on this one😆
I like the asthenic and steel choice of the bugout but handle is way too cheap looking for its price.

Not ideal but in a pinch... the sharpening choil throws major ferro sparks.

I like this one don't like Banchmade but this one is ok
Some people dont and never will. I try to branch out some and give a few knives and some companies some love.

I do heavy batoning when I camp and its never failed on me. Never! I use it to pry open paint daily.

Pls do cold steel khan

is this an automatic or assist knife? I'm just getting back into pocket knives
nvm read the website seems like a great blade
Love it
ya its too bad it doesn't have a 90 degree spine caz I have a opniel that can
Wish you couldn't easily make the handle scales touch
O4 HEMI it takes some muscle though. Its good because it wont brake super easy from being brittle
_American_11x_ I ended up spending a little more (less than $20) and got a sprint run s35vn spyderco para military 2
Thumbs for the channel. Knife doesn't do anything for me.
It wont for everyone. Some will love it.. others wont.
If the price was cheaper I'd buy one like 60 dollars lol
The Value is there at id say $85. Now if Cold Steel made the Khan in CTS-XHP for $75.... id buy 3 of them.
Benchmade does this to keep the riff raff and the whiners out. There’s always Ganzo for you bottom feeders lol.

Its not a "song" just background music i found online
