Thanks Alchemy! I wanted to show this knife will take a lot and just because the handles flex, it won’t let you down! Appreciate your feedback and support!
No. It's not rugged enough for that price. The light weight is great, but I'd prefer to have a heavier knife that I trusted more. I'm sure the blade is very good steel. The action appears fine. I can get a cheap knife that will do light weight jobs just as well as this Bugout, and apply the savings toward another tool. That plastic handle with no metal liner or metal frame relegates it to tasks that are less demanding. That's too much money for that level of usefulness.
I only ordered one a couple of days ago. It should arrive early next week. Very happy to see that this small light knife can withstand such abuses, which, by the way, I will never subject it. Thank you for the helpful video.
Just received a Bugout for my birthday as was a little worried after reading reviews in which people made the knife sound weak. After getting the knife in hand let me tell you any worry I had has been put to rest. The knife is solid as can be and your video further proves this point. If you are on the fence about this knife trust me it’s well worth it.
Never seen someone struggle to open a bottle with any tool before lol. On the other hand the Bugout just impressed me, would never had put that much faith in it if i hadnt seen this.
Zack I have always felt that the bugout was a flimsy knife but your test has changed my mind think I will be picking one up thanks for opening my eyes 🙏🙏🙏
Best test on the internet of the bugout! I want sure about it before... was looking for something to replace my manix 2. Your video convinced me, the bugout is the way to go!
I wanted to thumbs down this as these are examples of everything you do not want to do with your knife. It's painful to watch, but I'm impressed with how this knife held up. Should be fine for my day to day tasks of opening packaging and slicing apples.
Let's drive this Honda Civic over this pile of cinderblocks and see if it breaks... What you SHOULD expect from the 535 Bugout: a super lightweight tool that cuts efficiently, doesn't rust easily, and stays sharp a long time. What you SHOULD expect if you pry with a thin stainless steel knife blade: it will break. What you SHOULD expect if you beat a Bugout with a hammer: the edge will chip, and the liners will bend.
Fr…People act like knife should be the only tool for everything. For an “EDC”, it has more durability than we would ever need. Everytime someone says that “a cheaper knife is a lot tougher than bugout,” I just tell them that an axe is even stronger than any knife, what’s their point?
I think that when people said stand on it, they meant open it. Put it on blocks with enough space for your foot to fall into, and then stand on the knife over the gap.
Just because it's so light that there's almost no impact and the plastic is so flexible that it'll act as a dampener😝 Not kidding, it's a great knife.👊
Man that is one beasty blade, I’m starting to really like that knife even though I don’t have one😂 Looks amazing and you can’t go wrong with a Benchmade!
After only a few days of pocket carry and normal use I badly chipped my Bugout’s blade. I returned it to Benchmade for repairs. About 5 weeks later it was returned back in mint condition(at no cost to me). I’ve been hesitant to carry ever since it’s return. Thanks to your video I’ll try giving it some pocket time again.
@@skinnymalone9478 yes, it was a factory edge. Usually when I get a new knife I will strop it prior to carrying. I believe that was the case with this one as well.
Yeah the lock bar on those axis locks are stout for sure but I’ve had omega springs break in both my mini grip and 940, and I certainly never beat it with a hammer lol. Benchmades would be worth it to me if the omega springs weren’t such an inherent design flaw in the long term. And if you plan on using a benchmade for fishing, you better keep those springs oiled on a regular basis! It sucks because the blades are great…
damn, that's some testing, subscribed. i ordered this knife before i saw your video and now that i have seen the video, i'm stoked. this should put to bed a lot of crap i ignored earlier. i wouldn't put any of my extremely hard use carpentry tools thru this on purpose, although i never carried a pocket knife in my tool bag--only razor knives with disposable blades....

Judging at how inept he is at using that knife, he probably switched to white claw by now
