Same here. I was heartbroken for two weeks after every year they showed this on tv. Saw it again tonight for the first time in 10-15 years. She still got it. Sigh.....
Mommy's home Now you can open the door Don't be afraid now, not anymore Mommy's home I've brought for each one of you Strawberries coated with honeydew Only you and I can sing this song that no-one knows Listen to each little word carefully And before you all come running quickly to the door Be sure the only one you open to is me Mommy's home Now you can open the door Don't be afraid now, not anymore
Played in Norwegian Television (Nrk)... like a "sure christmashappening" late desember every year r from the 70's...... I will always remeber this sequence..... so excellent preformance and singing in world class.... Great !!!!!
They really speak/sing in all 3 versions of the movie, english, russian. At least english and russian - I'm sure. The scenes were played and recorded at least two times: on each language.
I don't know whether you are speaking russian, but take on trust the russian version of this movie is more tender and lyrical than other two - english and romanian...(music, singing, acting technique)
this is the text of the nice poem: Mommy's home. Now you can open the door. Don't be afaid now, not anymore. Mom is home. She's brought for each one of you strawberry, coated with honeydew.Only you and I can sing this song that noone knows. Listen to each word carefully. And before you all come running quickly to the door. Be sure the only one you open for is me."
Nowegian name of the movie is "Med grimm og gru". For all you norwegians out there that love this move, it is gonna be shown on nrk3/super on this sunday at 15.30 =) guess if this girl is happy =)
I called Tvin which was supposed to be the rights holder for this movie, but they told me that they are not and that Mosfilm owns it. I called Mosfilm's international relations office and they told me that they have no plans to release this movie on DVD in the near future. :-(
This role was very hard for the actress Lyudmila (Lucy) Gurchenko. When the scene were filming, the actress had a terribly hard form of broken leg: the tragedy was happened at skating rink scenes. The daddy bear (Oleg Popov) wanted to joke by her, but unsuccessfully was falling down, just on her leg. Next time Lucy had difficult surgeries and a bed rest for a few months (but it must be more). The film was paused indefinitely, because Lucy had to rest about a year, and she couldn't to continue her role because of her illness and take the film pictures again. The film process was very long and difficult, as there was three versions of film: romanian, english and russian. And every scene have a three copy, when the actors was spoken themselfs and singing themselfs at these all languages. And this learning by heart was very difficult to some of them, especially for the persons, who didn't know any of these languages. With so medicine problem the actor work was impossible. The Doctor's opinion was "no work, no filming, only the bed rest and a long reabilitation with medicine". But Lucy ignored the doctors: she didn't want to let down the director of this film and did not wait for a full recovery. Although the filming material with her was a little bit, and the actress sure could be replaced by another one. So Lyusia took her crutches and after few months of reabilitation at soviet hospital (not a year!)she went back on filming to continue her role (Mommy Goat). Behind the scenes she walked on crutches. The wild pain was treated with painkillers, which of course did not help. And she skillfully hid the cast behind the baby goats; the legs and figure were filmed from a stunt double. Later Lyudmila said for her interviews that the entire film crew, all of them, was cried when she crawled onto the stage, with wild pain in her leg. But when she heard the director's "Action", Lucy immediately straightened up, threw away her crutches and smiled as soon as need. She was singing and laughind so, as she had't anything bad. But with “Stop” signal, she falled down and screamed of her awful pain, cried a lot and asked her husband (he was behind the director) to bring some medicine to numb the pain. She was a strong woman and a great actress. I don't know any people like her. And I respect her very much for her love and devotion for her profession and her desire not to give anyone a ride on the set. P. S. By the way, in this scene (close-up) Lucy is standing in a cast. If you look closely, you can see a sweat on her forehead because of the pain.
Actually this movie was made in three different versions and languages at the same time. The english version is Rock'n Roll Wolf, the russian is Ma-Ma, don't know the name of the third...
This copy is from "Nrk 1" Norwegian channel. They send the movie each year just before x-mass ( has last 10 years or so ) Maby you can subscibe for nrk1 were you live for desember and copy it to dvd? just a hint if you realy whant it
@monsterdaniel123 Almost all actors were russians, especialy main actors- Gurchenko and Boyarski. And by the way it is coproduction of 3 counrys, not only USSR and Romania.
Hvil i fred, Lyudmila Gurchenko. Vil alltid huske deg i denne rollen!

The most beautiful musical I ever saw on television.
I love this song! I always sang it for my doughter when she was a kid. And thanks for the tip of NRK! Next easter I will be close to the TV...
I've been looking for that song for 30 years. Thank you very much for uploading it!
I wish I could buy a DVD from this musical.
Definitely doesn’t have a DVD for this one. Hopefully still have cassettes of it
if you search for "rock n roll wolf" here on youtube it's one of the first results, someone uploaded the full musical for free:)
This was my favourite movie as a kid.

If you happen to be in Oslo during Easter, the movie will run at Cinemateket April 3rd and 4th :)

It's a Romanian movie with Russian and Romanian actors and a Romanian director, the movie is based on the Romanian tale "Capra cu trei iezi".

...it should be in everyone's cultural uobringing..
You'll find the torrent if you search google, but it seems to have been dead for some time now :/
Most surprising to me is a "blue note" in Mama's song which is absent in Russian version (completely non-bluesy).
Every time I log into VRChat :
only remember " tickets!! tickets to find a wife" something like that!
Ludmila Gurchenko
R.I.P
@monsterdaniel123 Almost all actors were russians, especialy main actors- Gurchenko and Boyarski. And by the way it is coproduction of 3 counrys, not only USSR and Romania.
they are singing on English, but they have recorded it and then added it on the movie. the problem they have then is the lipsync.
