A Change Of Focus: Ford Focus ST-Line 2019 Review

- Since it replaced the Escort 20 years ago, the Ford Focus has gone from strength-to-strength in the UK and has cemented itself as one of the nation's favourite cars. The fourth generation model is here and it's clear Ford has been very busy with making changes.
The new model features new looks, a new interior, new engines, a new gearbox, a new platform and more space. Ford, then, has not become complacent, but is the new model any good? I tested it recently to find out.
More specifically, I tested the ST-Line, which is the sportier model out of the bunch. Despite this, it's actually fitted with the new 1.5 litre EcoBlue diesel engine, which kicks out 120hp with 300Nm of torque. This power is fed to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox.

I have had my St-line X for just over a week now and in white. I prefer this, than my Audi A3! It drives so much better to. Ford did an excellent job!

Pro tip : you can watch series on Flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching lots of of movies these days.

Nice review mate, I'm getting the 1.5 182 ST X in a few weeks, only thing I don't like is the gearknob , the side is cheap and nasty plastic

Car Obsession. That’s OK. I have an 18 plate ST Line in Moondust silver which I’m pleased with but one day I’ll consider the new shape ST Line. I’ve only done 2,000 miles so perhaps now is not the right time. Cheers...John.

Hello Romuald, I've only just seen this comment, apologies. It's hard to say from memory, but I think there was one day where I noticed a rattle, but then it went.

What would you go for a brand new Ford focus 1.5 ecoblue 120 st-line x estate in metallic grey or a Mercedes benz a class se180?
Admittedly the a class interior is something unique but I just fell for the focus. I cannot find any certified pictures of my vehicle's colour on the Internet! ?

Ok then I understand but I have a Audi rs4 for when I have the correct weather conditions to use it but I suppose im asking about the aesthetics of the vehicle mostly from the outside .
Obviously I have the estate of it any day now but just keep thinking about the colour etc etc. I know that it has a good drive train under the bonnet 👍
about the seven years garanty of the kia ceed...be carefull if u don't go to garage at time (or km) for exemple you have to go for the 30.000km and go when you have 35.000 you lose your garanty...i read this online...
and after some years of garanty (i guess 3y) some pieces are not garantied anymore...
I'm confused, many reviews say the st-line mounts rear independent suspensions. Can anyone confirm?

Well, I'd argue that's subjective. Me personally, I wouldn't buy the ST-Line in white as I'm not a big fan of it - I really like the Desert Island Blue. However, different people have different tastes. Thanks for watching.

@@nhannis Ah I see what you mean. This is the 2019 model, so it looks as if I've made an error in the title - I'll fix that shortly. The car tested was on a 2018 plate, which is probably why I put it down as 2018, not 2019.

Nice presentation mate, but the new Ford Focus just looks so wrong and ungainly looking from straight behind it, a ST Line with Halogen headlights blasphemy, My Mrs has the fiesta ST Line far better looking car, but the interior is still average quality at best....the new Focus interior is identical. l Was a fan of Ford l even had 2013 ST3 not anymore
