The fact they have Adam Driver say that show they were killing Star Wars with those movies. But I’m not stopping watching new content for Star Wars there are some good content others not that much.

Disney DID kill Star Wars. Because the feeling of apathy was never there for Star Wars under George Lucas. People were pretty much excited for new Star Wars products, video games, animated shows, comics and what not. Now, the average normy audience just doesn’t care anymore. Star Wars does not have the same draw, and appeal as it once had. Disney diluted the brand with just crap content. They killed the juggernaut that was Star Wars. End of story.

Lucasfilm and Disney should have stayed with the 3 year gap between films and let JJ Abrams direct all 3 sequel films. He had a great set up with the Force Awakens. It would’ve been the same flow instead of literally turning the wheel on characters and storytelling.

  • @TheDiscoDev

It was already dead. It died with The Last Jedi. There are many reasons - no planning for the sequel trilogy, mishandling of legacy characters, and over-budgeted shows that look and feel cheap. On the cost side of things, this Acolyte show cost $180 million, or, as some have put it, 15 Godzilla Minus Ones. What we are seeing now are chickens coming home to roost. Let it burn.

Star Wars as it was originally enjoyed died back in the 90s. Everything that's came after has constantly been something for everyone to complain about. The funny thing about the Anakin prophecy is that it was already ruined in the EU before George even made it a thing in the movies. Palpatine was already coming back in clone bodies in the Dark Empire books eight years before phantom menace even came out. It's one of the few things Disney actually did take from the EU and nobody liked it. So, we have technically never had a Star Wars continuity where the prophecy wasn't contradicted. lol

I actually remember that Outer Limits episode. If you watch it may seem like one thing but if you look carefully there is an underlying message. The overt message is that without men there is no war but the more subtle one is that despite that society is not somehow now a utopia.
We still see signs of greed and abuse of power, if I remember correctly, just no one sees it or if they do they turn a blind eye to it. So while there is no conflict, that does not get rid of the underlying problems that is inherent in humans. Lying, deception, and taking advantage of others. If I remember the episode correctly, the man saw this going on and tried to bring it to the attention of the people around him but his warning was dismissed as just a man trying to make trouble.

I like episode 7 and 9 I hated episode 8 for a free compassion but I agree with your take. It's Star Wars has already been dead. You know, yes, we've gotten good. TV shows o. BI wan kenobi. We got good TV shows like mandalorian. Wasoka, but look up, but a soak, especially in my opinion, was made by Joe by. Dave faloni, so yes, it is gonna be good cause. He was with George Lucas and he owns a rights to Asoka. But that's for a different story. But people who are ripping on the acolyte. All I wanna know is that's a new sith. I don't know what I wanna know is. Is this a new one to add to or that will be interesting? You know, and again it's fantasy. You know, people have to realize that it's also fantasy. It things change over time a lot so and it's really the Star Wars fanbase. I blame for George Lucas to sell. Wait we got on George Lucas and the actor that played George R binks and we almost made actor George are binks did what he did and then George Lucas sold It to Disney and it's awful and star's fans have to accept it. You know, it's really if we never really gave him flack in so much pressure. I think George Lucas would still have the rights to Star Wars said this day this is just my humble opinion. And?

Or it’s alive and this is a bad episode. Look, I would never tell anyone anything stupid like “you have to love every movie and every episode of every TV series or you’re not a Star Wars fan.”
I love Star Wars and I have for over 40 years. I’m one of the OG fans of the original trilogy. I liked every Star Wars movie in TV series? No. And I have no problem admitting that a movie or a TV episode was bad. But when you realize that the franchise is still going strong, even though people like you keep making videos saying “Star Wars is dead” it’s kind of dumb.
Let’s be honest, there are some people that have made up their mind that they’re going to hate every movie and TV series that comes out from here on out. My question is to yall , if you already have made up your mind you’re going to hate it from here on out. Why are you even still watching it? It’s not like it’s a law. Last time I checked, the government wasn’t sending people to your house and making you watch the accolade at gunpoint. If you’ve been crying about fictional characters in a fantasy cinematic universe for five years. Now you’re probably needing to go look in the mirror and ask yourself if you’re really a man. What grown man cries about a piece of entertainment that no one‘s forcing him to watch for five or six fucking years.

I also wanna say this. There is a question about imperpalpiting that I do have. Did he cone himself? Because there is that possibility that he cloned himself cause I know, and some of the non cannon caught a book of Star Wars that did clone each other. You know, like the cones, for example. It's a very possibility. I don't know, but either way you're right. This is already done It and we just need to let Disney. Do what it does and we're still Star Wars. Fans and people who are complaining that Star Wars is killed. Is that they are just beating themselves to the ground? Because it took a while for me to realize that I gotta be honest but it's pretty much dead. You know the fanbase? It's always gonna be there and they're reaching to new fan bases. And now Disney is making their lore in Georgia, Lucas made his. It's kind of interesting how fantasy can change and people can't accept it. And people complaining about what skin color the actors. Are that never mattered?

I'l be honest: I don't care about SW since late 00s. TFA, Mandalorian and R1 had some fine moments but the rest of SW Disney is simply awful.

Honestly turned this off after hearing you start to dog on the prequels. We are 10 years down the road of Disney garbage polluting this series and you're gonna complain about Phantom menace? YAWN. That's like complaining that your fork is on the wrong side of your plate when the whole kitchen is on fire.

Starwars took a nose dive with the Force Awakens. Look, that sequel trilogy did not live up to expectation. I never liked Rey, Kylo Ren was a child, and as a whole the films were just BAD!!. they were not on the level of the films that preceded it. NOW one thing must be said. The original films, were not exactly perfect either. Lucas directed episode 4 a new hope. and that introduced the world to starwars, it was both great and yet it was more than a bit campy. but it suited its era of the late 1970's. Irving Kirschner's Empire Strikes back was far superior to the first film. gone was the campy, replaced by more of the odd and interesting. starwars was taken seriously. and it closed out as an adult in return of the jedi. The prequels as a story and script was not bad, BUT casting was an issue. None of the actors suited the role of Anakin and Vader. And jar jar was comic relief that was not needed since R2 and c3po was still present. he was a clown in a courtroom. he didnt fit. casting a much older Nathalie Portman also didnt work, as even young girls dont like younger boys. the whole love interest things didnt work. but the prequel story was sound enough. Rouge One was ok. liked mandalorian, and book of boba fett wasnt too bad at all. but the movies.. how off putting where those. The sequels just made all the wrong moves. all the wrong tone's for starwars. at the end of the day it all fall upon the writing the directing and casting choices.

Apparently nobody batted an eye in Andor durring episode 6, when a rebel lesbian woman of color had to murder a white Empirial officer and his family during a heist gone wrong because they saw the rebels faces. But a coven of space lesbian witches performing emaculate conception was too much? Andor was a great story and super political. The episode and show in general has bad writing, pacing issues, strange directing choices and mostly flat performances. And it’s odd that a show that cost this much looks like something that would air on the CW in 2012

I fall in the camp of people who liked Episode 8 and hated Episode 9 with a passion because it shat over everything the previous two movies built instead of embracing the change in direction. After that, some shows were good, some shows were meh, but overall I'd say that Star Wars is decent. It's not my favourite franchise anymore, but I'm still curious to check out the new stuff when it comes out. And as for the Acolyte, again, not perfect by any means, but I'm at least intrigued enough by the mystery to keep watching.

The Sequel Trilogy for me is what began the downfall, I had some hope when we got to TLJ but that it sealed it for me. We've had some good lifelines since but as of late, HELP! The prequels and originals I loved and enjoyed the first time I ever watched them. There's hope though. We shall see aha

Star Wars is a movie IP first and foremost no matter what comes on Disney+ it was created and shaped by George Lucas to be viewed appreciated and enjoyed in the theater. Since Disney completely bombed and dropped the ball when it comes to the sequel trilogy equates to Star Wars as an IP is dead the second pillar Star Wars is built on is toys sales, it's toys are the second foundation of Star Wars and we all know how toy sales have been since the sequel trilogy...Star Wars is definitely DEAD

Biggest example of gaslighting is the fact one of the actors says they are a huge fan yet said Anakin blew up the Death Star in more than 1 interview (alongside some other questionable stuff).
And when fans pointed this out, they get gaslight saying he’s Ana core he’s it required to know everything about the franchise. Totally leaving out the dude called himself a huge fan.
Most actors flat out aren’t fans of the series they starring in. So they never say they do they just do the basic PR stuff about how amazing this story will be.

As far as star wars being dead..... Hey, nothing lasts forever. It was always going to be tough. Those originals are beloved, so it makes things really difficult. Where it really pissed me off was not the sequels. I thought the sequels were basically a remake of the original trilogy. Not nearly as good, but they had good visuals and imagery so they weren't a total waste in my opinion. Where they really fucked up was the obi wan show. That should have been a total slam dunk, but they just couldn't help themselves. They just had to inject their world view into it. The line that killed star wars was that ghetto delivery line "who's in the gutter now" gets stabbed with saber and then comes back. That series and how it unfolded is unforgiveable. What made it worse is it has some great moments between Vader and Kenobi. That series was such a let down. It was right there on a T waiting to be hit out of the ballpark but instead it was like a ping dribbler back to the mound. 😂

Yeah Star Wars died when the force awakens came out not sure why everyone blames the last Jedi but episode 7 was absolutely terrible, there’s good concepts in both those movies but poorly executed. And the rise of skywalker I didn’t make it through that movie left 30min in and got a refund for the time at a movie theater, like there beating a dead horse at this point, just bad inconsistent writing and poor execution, people get stabbed with light sabers and shot with blasters and don’t die, but get instantly killed from a ninja stars.

The big problem is the terrible leadership from Kathleen Kennedy. She had no overall plan or vision of where she wanted to take SW, so she hired writers and directors who just did whatever they wanted with little care to overall story. That's why so many SW projects have been canceled, too.

I personally believe that the problems started with Kathleen Kennedy's bad PR with the Last Jedi. It would've been smart of her to use Filoni as a weapon to calm the descent about chunks of the story that people ignored when focusing on politics.
Additionally what the authors for the high republic books did, which was creative collaboration, should've been mirrored and done for the bigger projects, so she should've utilized Pablo Hidalgo, the Lucasfilm/Star Wars lore master and Filoni in that regard
