This killed star wars in the way that Disney killed it with Ep8, then it came back as a zombie and then killed it again. This here is a case of, I don't know if it'll come back as a zombie, it's just dead. I tell you this, they could make a new trilogy that's the best thing ever since the originals, and I won't care, because this exists and current day Lucas film is delusional and I don't trust them at all.
The big problem is the terrible leadership from Kathleen Kennedy. She had no overall plan or vision of where she wanted to take SW, so she hired writers and directors who just did whatever they wanted with little care to overall story. That's why so many SW projects have been canceled, too.
I feel like all they had to do was ask anybody with a brain whether their ideas were good and they would’ve told the truth and saved us from these abominations
Died with Phantom Menace, we have to stop pretending… We just all WISH and HOPE the whole Star Wars universe would and could be better but it’s obvious….. it’s dead …
I’m more sick of the fanbase than anything Star Wars related these days. Must be exhausting being so angry all the time with a space opera. Audiences have changed and you’re not their key demographic anymore. They don’t care if you don’t like it and the world will still be the same tomorrow no matter how much hatred is spewed towards them
I'm old enough to remember fan outrage at The Empire Strikes Back for killing Star Wars because Obi-Wan lied about Luke's father being killed by Vader. I'm not joking. There was fan outrage.
TFA was the least terrible. It did still started it. There have been videos dedicated to break down that it did not have promise. That sense to defend it was simply the goodwill to give them the benefit of the doubt. It was a mistake.
@@thegannerabraham I’ll be honest, while some of those videos had great points, the fact that people had hour long videos and went into length about things just shows, for ME, TFA wasn’t that bad and that it was at the very least fun. I always felt if it was truly horrible then a 10min video would suffice but people went IN on a lot of things and it felt a bit…forced, pun intended. It had intriguing setups that unfortunately didn’t pay off and many people even had fun theories behind certain things Unfortunately those theories and things got “subverted” by RJ and well…now the sequel trilogy is where it’s at 🤷🏾♂️ I loved TFA when it came it cause it was kind just fun to watch. Wasn’t a masterpiece, but it was fun, unlike the other two after. I honestly go back to the first trailer and it still gets me hyped, even tho I know what came after 😕
Apparently nobody batted an eye in Andor durring episode 6, when a rebel lesbian woman of color had to murder a white Empirial officer and his family during a heist gone wrong because they saw the rebels faces. But a coven of space lesbian witches performing emaculate conception was too much? Andor was a great story and super political. The episode and show in general has bad writing, pacing issues, strange directing choices and mostly flat performances. And it’s odd that a show that cost this much looks like something that would air on the CW in 2012
Tbh it really ended with the force awakens, the reason why i say this is because from the start there should have been a plan. There was never a plan or set direction and when you watch the trilogy it feels like it, it doesn’t feel like a trilogy and all the movies are so different. To this day it is insane to me that there was never any direction.
There actually was plans, but the plans changed. When you look at the Collin Tevorrow script for episode 9 the whole trilogy makes a lot more sense. No matter what anyone can say about the first two movies whether they are bad or good, rise of skywalker is really the odd one out of the whole trilogy as everything about it is not what was originally planned. That whole movie literally feels like they read a bunch of angry tweets and wrote the movie around them.
Disney killed Star Wars from the start due to lack of authenticity. That is a really hard thing to replicate when succeeding from the original creator. It has been done before, but it's rare. There are many reasons why, but the biggest reason is that they did not identify one person who was to be the creative successor to Lucas. No one with the voice of being the author of the new Star Wars exists. Only a committee of hired people led by a producer who was out of her league with the job she was given.
@@bluebaron6858 Really, and it had nothing to do with the fact that he had no obvious heir, he was aging, wanted to spend time with his (at that time) new wife and family? Sure, some of the "hate" if you want to call it that from the prequels might have influenced him somewhat, but if there was any bullying of any kind by hater fans, they certainly were a very small minority, and well, they certainly got what they wished for, didn't they, if indeed this is what they wished for. I'm pretty no one who would even think of wishing that George would sell Lucasfilm would have hoped for it to end up like it has.
I think JJ is to blame, instead of Johnson. He just fucked with the nostalgia bait, instead of doing something fresh and decent. And when nostalgia left the room, you see rehashes like TFA and dumpster fires like TROS. For me, SW isn't a phenomena anymore, but something smaller than it once was.
Nah, it's KK wanting Ruin Johnson instead of sticking with JJ all the way through. He had a decent setup, would've been infinitely better than what we got.
@@Itachiflameamaterasu JJ ruined TFA by making it bland and ignoring the obvious move to reunite Han, Leia and Luke. And there weren't many options to go with when Luke was set-up just as a cameo at the end of the movie. At least from TLJ, I can recall more stuff than from JJ's movies combined, which is telling.
The best sign that the series is dead is how people want to gawk at the corpse; we are at a point where we just want to check the desecration because of how bad it has been mismanaged and appropriated.
If videos like this keeps coming in the name of criticising it despite the show already flopping and giving unnecessary attention then people might become curious to know whats happening and might actually still care
I fall in the camp of people who liked Episode 8 and hated Episode 9 with a passion because it shat over everything the previous two movies built instead of embracing the change in direction. After that, some shows were good, some shows were meh, but overall I'd say that Star Wars is decent. It's not my favourite franchise anymore, but I'm still curious to check out the new stuff when it comes out. And as for the Acolyte, again, not perfect by any means, but I'm at least intrigued enough by the mystery to keep watching.
Bro one day you really gotta see Andor. At this point I don't want to promote it more because it's getting to the point of overhype but like dude they blew my expectations out of the park. I loved it
It's great if you liked Ahsoka and Kenobi. They were not good. The treatment of established characters, disregarding canon, and story contrivances, essentially miserable writing ruined those and practically all of Disney Star Wars productions.
people still seem to love the Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order/Survivor games. A 3rd has been announced & fans will be all over it, so technically the future of SW is in video games
I haven’t watched anything since Mando three. And at this point, I’m not going back. But I listen to you and other people talk about it because I’m curious as well in a car crash sort of way, but I don’t want to waste my time watching it. Even though I can’t really form a proper opinion like that. At this point, their track record shows how I would feel about it. It’s sad that it’s to this point with Star Wars that I genuinely don’t care. The original unaltered trilogy is all I will ever need.
Maybe the Disney era is our punishment for being so heated during the prequel era. Everyone has the right to speak our complaints but the right can have a price. Maybe George should've just been more thorough about his choices.
The main issue is crap writing. Inconsistent character traits, abilities, and motivations. Story continuity issues and inconsistencies with established lore and canon.
First episode I thought was alright and the second episode actually peaked my interest. Third Episode probably killed it for me. I want to stick around and see if it turns around but man...
Star Wars didn't die then & not dead now either. I agree with that scene being ridonkeylous. Of course Rey Palpatine (Not Skywalker even after The Rise of Palpatine movei) fans say that she won because she has Palpatine's blood. 😒 May you have good time when stream El Bueno The Acolyte at D+ 🙂
I love how you're hate-watching Acolyte to see what else they mess up, yet you like TCW, which messes up the EU and misrepresents it in a very big and gross way.
The sequel trilogy was my introduction into Star Wars films and I wasn’t so disappointed. But I will say that for a major film franchise, the last movie (Rise of Skywalker) was probably the first movie where I was disappointed with how it was handled, minor plot points and such. They didn’t have to do my boy Finn like that. But as a movie and telling a story it was ok. I was impressed with the cinematography and the dichotomy between Rey and Ben Solo.
I have 3 ways of looking my " Head Canon" #1 Just the original trilogy #2 Just the 6 films #3 The 6 films plus the Expanded Universe For me nothing after 2008(except EU) is canon including The CloneWars. I'm an example of how divided the Starwars fandom is since a lot of people will include TCW in their canon.
This is a fair mindset. The Star Wars lore has been rehauled so many damn times over the decades that you can totally separate the lore that way. I myself am the most fond of the "before the prequels" days. Where it was just the original trilogy plus whatever EU material existed up to that point.
I think I've been called to many isms to like Star Wars even if they make something I like. It's not so much political as much as I know people who believe Disney's isms, so why even risk it
Star Wars with this episode took the final blow but it was already in ICU My theory of who the sith is going to be one of the cult of lesbians and she will say: "I am your mother!".
Star Wars is a movie IP first and foremost no matter what comes on Disney+ it was created and shaped by George Lucas to be viewed appreciated and enjoyed in the theater. Since Disney completely bombed and dropped the ball when it comes to the sequel trilogy equates to Star Wars as an IP is dead the second pillar Star Wars is built on is toys sales, it's toys are the second foundation of Star Wars and we all know how toy sales have been since the sequel trilogy...Star Wars is definitely DEAD
I recommend giving Andor another try. It has like method where it's a 2 episode build up 3rd episode payoff throughout the season. It goes into a lot of behind the scenes of the Star Wars Universe as well.
only way they could save star wars realistically is fire kathleeen kennedy get kevin feige and make movies base on the old republic timeline and dont fuck with the lore
"Killed the X" is so dumb, no. I also think this Acolyte cancellation is SO FUNNY. One said says Acolyte killed Star Wars. Other side says the Acolyte getting canceled killed Star Wars. One side says Disney catering to Woke ruined Star Wars. The other side says Disney catering to Toxic people ruined star wars.
Star Wars has been dead since the sequels but we had a few gems here and there from Dave Filoni. Politics and bad writing just put this franchise into the ground
at this point idgaf if they want to push their message, but if their story suck then I'll hate it. This episode didnt kills star wars, people is overreacting. That being said, the episode wasnt good anyway
The Sequel Trilogy for me is what began the downfall, I had some hope when we got to TLJ but that it sealed it for me. We've had some good lifelines since but as of late, HELP! The prequels and originals I loved and enjoyed the first time I ever watched them. There's hope though. We shall see aha
I disagree with your opinion as much as I did with your views on Andor. I think there has been both both good (mandalorian, andor, Asoka, bad batch and clone wars) and bad (kenobi, obi wan). I don’t hate Disney I like that we are getting Star Wars content ever year. Stop hating because internet says bad.
I just stopped caring about Star Wars. I mean Kathleen Kennedy and all of the Lucasfilm people have said that they aren't making these movies and shows for me. That they aren't for white men, so I am not watching nor do I care. Even though it was people like me who grew up with the original trilogy and years before Disney took it over were buying tickets to the movies, buying the novel, comic books, video games, etc to keep the IP alive. Disney bought it and made it all about girl power and they told me that it wasn't for me. So I just stopped watching and stopped caring. It wasn't Anakin who died in TLJ it was Luke Skywalker who died in TLJ.
I'm still not sure what the message is that Disney are apparently sending. Beyond that, I'll reserve judgement until the full show is out. Andor started badly for me but the full season in review was to see it as very good. Boba fett was fun to watch, except that stupid chase scene, but when all was said and done, it wasn't great. This show seems to be somewhere in the middle so far. Can't say a word against geekdom's sequel trilogy summary. I wish so much that we could remake them Edit: anyone else think going back further in time would have made any differences in lore in this show make more sense? It's almost too close to avoid hurting anakin's character
Honestly the downfall began with The Last Jedi.

0:15 Not possible to kill something that's already dead.
Died with Phantom Menace, we have to stop pretending… We just all WISH and HOPE the whole Star Wars universe would and could be better but it’s obvious….. it’s dead …
Danny, what Rian did with Luke was ripped from George's treatments
I’m more sick of the fanbase than anything Star Wars related these days. Must be exhausting being so angry all the time with a space opera. Audiences have changed and you’re not their key demographic anymore. They don’t care if you don’t like it and the world will still be the same tomorrow no matter how much hatred is spewed towards them
the last jedi hurt star wars a lot but it could still be revived, but 9 failed to do it, and that was the real death
I'm old enough to remember fan outrage at The Empire Strikes Back for killing Star Wars because Obi-Wan lied about Luke's father being killed by Vader. I'm not joking. There was fan outrage.
it died with the last jedi
TFA wasnt great, but it had promise, it had potential... it was a new beginning. TLJ killed that
TFA was the least terrible. It did still started it. There have been videos dedicated to break down that it did not have promise. That sense to defend it was simply the goodwill to give them the benefit of the doubt. It was a mistake.
@@thegannerabraham yeah, they didnt know what they were doing (they still dont), and we didnt know what we were getting
It had intriguing setups that unfortunately didn’t pay off and many people even had fun theories behind certain things
Unfortunately those theories and things got “subverted” by RJ and well…now the sequel trilogy is where it’s at 🤷🏾♂️
I loved TFA when it came it cause it was kind just fun to watch.
In Cartman's voice make it lame and gay 😂
Disney killed Star Wars from the start due to lack of authenticity. That is a really hard thing to replicate when succeeding from the original creator. It has been done before, but it's rare. There are many reasons why, but the biggest reason is that they did not identify one person who was to be the creative successor to Lucas. No one with the voice of being the author of the new Star Wars exists. Only a committee of hired people led by a producer who was out of her league with the job she was given.
Those hater fans bullied George Into selling it
@@bluebaron6858 Really, and it had nothing to do with the fact that he had no obvious heir, he was aging, wanted to spend time with his (at that time) new wife and family?
Well KK mostly.
Rise of Skywalker was so bad that even die hard sequel defenders hate it. That tells you how bad it is.
I still whip out my 2006 special edition dvds with the original theatrical release versions on the bonus disks.
Star wars died when George sold the ip to Disney
It took until The Last Jedi for the world to realize that
I haven’t watched anything since Mando three.
While it feels like Marvel is starting to get their shit together, Star wars just digs a deeper hole
Maybe the Disney era is our punishment for being so heated during the prequel era. Everyone has the right to speak our complaints but the right can have a price. Maybe George should've just been more thorough about his choices.
I don't necessarily support the higher ups blaming the fans, but they are probably just at their breaking point. They are still human, after all.
I will not understand Star Wars fans and their hatred of everything.
The main issue is crap writing. Inconsistent character traits, abilities, and motivations. Story continuity issues and inconsistencies with established lore and canon.
Lmao I got called a shill on my channel for liking the first two episodes
Why do you like the first two episodes just asking
@@marvinj1000 I’m not saying they were great or the best Star Wars thing ever but I liked the set up and the Jedi characters
@@BLERDJUUHEARDNETWORK only character I like is Sol good actor too the first episode was decent but the second n third episode failed me
First episode I thought was alright and the second episode actually peaked my interest.
Third Episode probably killed it for me. I want to stick around and see if it turns around but man...
Star Wars died when Kyle Ren lost to an untrained nobody in tge force awakens
Star Wars was dead dead with the sequel trilogy. Star Wars is now dead dead DEAD with this Steven Universe Tumblrfication of the franchise.
I think we can all agree it was Disney that killed Star Wars for a fact
I have 3 ways of looking my " Head Canon"
#1 Just the original trilogy
#2 Just the 6 films
#3 The 6 films plus the Expanded Universe
For me nothing after 2008(except EU) is canon including The CloneWars.
It's not so much political as much as I know people who believe Disney's isms, so why even risk it
The problem is people don't speak with their wallets and they keep tuning in. Disney's a business you can talk forever but they only see one thing
The Star Wars story was already finished with George 6 movies.
I don’t see what was so bad about the ep
Star Wars with this episode took the final blow but it was already in ICU
My theory of who the sith is going to be one of the cult of lesbians and she will say: "I am your mother!".
I'l be honest: I don't care about SW since late 00s. TFA, Mandalorian and R1 had some fine moments but the rest of SW Disney is simply awful.
I recommend giving Andor another try. It has like method where it's a 2 episode build up 3rd episode payoff throughout the season. It goes into a lot of behind the scenes of the Star Wars Universe as well.
only way they could save star wars realistically is fire kathleeen kennedy get kevin feige
and make movies base on the old republic timeline and dont fuck with the lore
Last Jedi started the downfall
"Killed the X" is so dumb, no.
I also think this Acolyte cancellation is SO FUNNY.
One said says Acolyte killed Star Wars. Other side says the Acolyte getting canceled killed Star Wars.
One side says Disney catering to Woke ruined Star Wars. The other side says Disney catering to Toxic people ruined star wars.
I already see where this is going. Disney is just too predictable. But it’ll be an interesting turn of events.
Nah anybody saying episodes 1&2 were trash needs help I’m sorry. Episodes 1-6 were great anybody else saying otherwise just talking out they neck.
Does anyone get their Star wars fix through fan films?
Star Wars has been dead since the sequels but we had a few gems here and there from Dave Filoni. Politics and bad writing just put this franchise into the ground
at this point idgaf if they want to push their message, but if their story suck then I'll hate it.
This episode didnt kills star wars, people is overreacting. That being said, the episode wasnt good anyway
the downfall began when disney bought star wars. disney. ruins. everything.
Please make the video of ur thoughts and theories I’m soooo interested 😮
Hey we had nothing against the Night Sisters...
Star Wars was maimed by the prequels but killed by the last Jedi
The only thing I accept from Disney: StarWars is Rogue one everything else is straight trash 🗑
I wish so much that we could remake them
Edit: anyone else think going back further in time would have made any differences in lore in this show make more sense? It's almost too close to avoid hurting anakin's character
