Doesn’t matter if you like it or not, the episode being this divisive is going to further split the fandom, which is bad for business. Look what happened to the Snyderverse, the main products split the fandom and less and less people showed up for the sequels and spin offs. I see the same thing happening here. This kind of reminds me of what happened to hip hop. Hip hop was created for the beautiful purpose of creating music and having people put down the guns and dance. It was an explosion of art and creativity. And the main characters were black and hispanic men. It was our art. Then the industry came in and destroyed it to the point that it is utter trash, and the main creators of the art aren't even the stars anymore.

So this means that Plagueis was self-deluded to think that he was the only one who could create life with the force. Idk how I feel about that because it's the entire thread that Palpatine dangles over Anakin's head.

Like just ten extra mins could have helped out a lot. We could've spend some more time with the Jedi, show them talking about the sister's some and why their opinions differ. I be honest, I think you're beating around the bush too much and I think you should just call out the elephant in the room directly. The lore is being mess up right now because of disney constantly focusing on this hard political push instead of just making an good star wars show that respects the past lores of the show/movies.
You won't get an good story if they can't move away from that since that's been the source of problems with SW for the last 7 years with them prioritizing more on "messaging" than on good storytelling. They probably did this for the shock value and controversy to gain more eyes on the show since they are probably not confident to make it good.

    @davidcici11Evolution 3 месяца назад +1

This seems to borrow more from Ancient Egyptian and Dogon (West African Mali) Mythology. Amma known as the egg in which the universe was contained. There it comes out emmuculate twins.
In the story one of the twins kills the other mainly due to the imperfections of the twin. Like Egyptian and Dogon mythos its typically a story of balance.
May and Osha were mistakes, they were conceived unnaturally. One being evil one being good.
Anakin was naturally conceived by the force he is basically what May and Osha as one being.
Anakin is Darth Vader and Darth Vader is Anakin both imperfect and perfect beings of the same soul
May and Osha are two different people who happen to share the same soul.
Anakin is a play of Judeo-Christian beliefs which was said to have borrowed heavily from Egyptian/Nubian nile Valley African beliefs.
So i can see why whoever wrote this i can tell where the influence comes from. I can even see what the ending will be like and how it ties to back to the prequel/OG main continuity timeline.
Think of the trinity in Star Wars (Father, son and daughter). I am more convinced this has something to do with the Mother Abeloth.
I also think May/Osha will be linked to the daughter which will therefore make them linked to Ahoska Tano which means i believe one of them will be her incarnated version.

As you said, the birthing of these two through the force doesn't really ruin Anakin by itself, its just the stuff with Rey in the sequels that does.
They're born from the force, but they arent really all that strong, Anakin even as he's portrayed in the movies could beat them as himself or Vader quite easily it seems. So they aren't as powerful. Anakin's journey as the chosen one is something they don't have right now, making him even more unique. Regarding Legends, you're wrong. In Legends, it's always up to the parents as to whether or not their child is allowed to join the Jedi Order. Jedi Apprentice #9. The Fight For Truth revolves around a Force-sensitive baby, O-Lana, located on an isolationist world, Kegan. The plot is, think outsiders coming to North Korea. At no time do the two Jedi sent to investigate the baby's potential, Qui-Gon and Adi Gallia, ever mention that if the parents refuse, they're taking the child anyway, if anything, it's the local authorities that kidnap the baby out of fear and remove her to a reeducation facility that Qui-Gon, Adi Gallia, Siri Tachi, and Obi-Wan later infiltrate to rescue her.
You say you don't like the lore breaking in The Acolyte, and yet you like TCW, which deliberately broke lore to feed Filoni's ego. From day one, the TCW creators treated the EU with the highest disrespect.

    • @Darthpsychonis

Lucas was the one who pitched the stories of TCW to Filoni and his team, including the ones that contradicted the EU such as Ventures, Grievous Sing's back stories, the changing Korriban to Moraband, giving Anakin a Padawan, etc. Legends canon was always based on G>T>C tier system, meaning that whatever Gorge or the tv shows did was a higher tier of canon over the comics/games/novels. Old EU fans like to blame Filoni for just doing his job.

After all the hate Ive been reading and hearing, I was expecting SO much worse. There’s nothing earth shattering here. It’s an echo of the Anakin origin, throwing in a different denomination of force users (the universe is giant..Jedi don’t have exclusivity on the force or philosophies around it). The child actors had issues but they were way better than Leia in obiwan or even Anakin in Phantom Menace.
This episode was absolutely not the death knell to Starwars that people are crying about.

First 20 minutes was super slow. Pacing was weird. Way too much of the kid. It’s very hard to get what you want with child actors. They got what they need. The minimum.
Mother A was great. Sol is the best character in the series, but he was acting against a brick wall for a lot of the episode. Might as well been a tennis ball.

Things happen too easily, and are forgotten too easily in this show.
An example of both; the Jedi show up searching for children being trained, but they don't have to search at all. The covem does nothing to hide the kids. They just say "no kids here." Then the wookie is like "nope, there's two right here." The Jedi call those 2 kids out...then never bother looking for any other kids.😂
Mae's quest to find the Jedi is just "where is your Jedi."
Squid Games Jedi says it's impossible that Mae is still alive. 30 seconds later Osha tells him Mae is alive and he says "I believe you." No convincing. No evidence. From impossible to definitely so, just like that.
There are at least 6 more examples. It's just silly.

  • @mostcreativename1

12:13 finally. The people who cry about this are very loud and the episode to me was actually enjoyable explaining from Osha's perspective of her backstory. They are keeping the mystery hidden which I like. But yeah, the people that usually call people over sensitive are the ones whining right now. It would be different if it was the trainwreck that was 2016 Ghostbusters but like... it's not

I believe the outrage and fear surrounding Episode 3 were overblown. I didn't see anything that suggested a "forced female" agenda as some claimed. However, I did find the episode quite boring. Additionally, several elements didn't work for me. For instance, how does Osha know so much about the Jedi? Why are Padawans never allowed to see their families again? And why are the witches supposedly discriminated against? The show continues to tell rather than show important story beats, which causes me to lose interest.

I’m not necessarily offended by all the wokeness and lesbian agenda, it just makes no sense to me that they would do that in Star Wars. The audience is probably 90% straight males, it’s sci-fi space fighting, it’s always going to be a mostly male. So they’re just setting themselves up for failure, and then shocked and offended when their male audience doesn’t like it. You wouldn’t make a new Rambo movie and have him wear a dress and say he identifies as a woman now.

I didn’t really see this as woke personally. If night sisters exist, it’s not hard to think other covens exist. This episode just wasn’t that good. I don’t really say this lowers Anakin’s importance because the will of the force made him and I don’t see that here. The dyad stuff of good and evil is taken from a lot of stuff, good and evil etc. yin and yang etc. it was in Dave Filloni’s clone wars with the gods and shiz. Different cultures are going to interpret the power of the force differently, just like the night sisters do and have different abilities etc. It just isn’t that interesting so far. The show is whatever and could have been a lot better with a few tweeks. The Jedi are out of character here, the Jedi aren’t depicted like this. They kinda forced themselves on these people except sol kinda? mei’s attitude kinda doesn’t make sense in the first episode because she has that cringe ass line “fight me with all your might”. Here she has those evil tendencies and does whatever she wants. Show could have been good but it’s just kinda meh. Not because of woke or whatever and I don’t really see it here, they never really say “men suck or whatever” it’s just a group of women lol gotta take a couple of leaps to make that conclusion imo.

The way palpatine talks about it with Anakin, he makes it sound like people who used the dark side to create life were shunned by others. And really you gotta think Plageius heard of it from someone.

The mother did say “I created them” as if she had the power and force of creation coming from herself, whereas Anakin’s mother had no say or will to be able to create Anakin it was from the power of the Force to create Anakin with an abundance of Midichlorians in him, it’s not something a Disney witch can create, in fact when you think about it, it’s something like holy Spirit like Jesus describing it to Nicodemus when he said “ the wind blows where it wants to, and you hear the sound of it, but you do not know where it comes from and where it is going. So it is with everyone who has been born from the spirit”. It is the same with Star Wars Force. It is not something you can create or choose at your own will or power anymore than you can choose to be born, the Force is the only power and will to create of its own and chooses who it wants.
And this is something that the woke lesbian crowd from Disney does not comprehend. They are very fleshly minded and think it’s all about them!🤪
They are egocentric movie makers for their own self gratification and clearly not in touch with rational reasoning people of sound mind.
Walt Disney would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what all these perverts have done to what he started, after all Disney is supposed to be child friendly and not polluting their innocence with deviant lifestyles and woke identity BS.

You are using the wrong word. I don't think most fans are offended at the primary use of women or the lack of use men in this series. The problem is always the story telling. But Disney has been successful at least labeling a certain part of the fan base as being offended or taking offense at their product. And you apparently have been persuaded to this kind of labeling.
This works for Disney the same way it works for you because you say you don't get offended at this shit but you also say you think it is petty. This then redifines the so called offended fans as being petty which is even a worse description.
It is therefore not to much of a stretch of the imagination to go from petty to racist, to misogynist, to phobic.
You see where I am going with this? Because this is how your comments here will potentially devolve into.
Better to say opinion instead of offense. There are going to be fans that have a negative opinion on this episode rather than be offended by it.
Just expressing my opinion so hope you are not offended.
