House's morality here is almost entirely out of self interest, he saved her life because he wanted her to fix her last book. It's so transparent you kind of have to respect it.
He's a Fangirl at heart. It's not the only example 😊
I’d appreciate a doctor who’s as brutally honest as House is.
House's morality and motivation are nearly always due to self interest.
@@heidiquast4667 thank God we have doctors like this who really care
but then when he tells her the accident wasn’t her fault, he was doing it to be kind
This is a very underrated episode. It’s on my list of Top 10 House M.D. episodes. I always appreciate a two-sided mystery that is interconnected like this one. The medical mystery in tied in with the patient’s personal mystery and in the end House lies in order to cure this patient’s emotional trauma in the loss of her son.
Fully agree. I was thrilled to see Amy Irving! She is absolutely stunning too. What a beautiful talent she is.
He's such a Fanboy
He kidnaps an actor from his favourite TV programme and forces him to be tested and treated
He lied to her so she would live and continue writing about his favourite character and answer his questions. He was solving her as a puzzle so she could help him solve the puzzle of jack
Yeah beautiful i know😂😂😅😅and I would say he did care in a funny way, better than people who just show off to care 😊😊😊😊
What I find interesting is that House is largely based on Sherlock Holmes but obviously there are differences, Houses love for tv shows, books like this, monster trucks etc is one of those differences. Holmes literally had no interest in anything that wouldn’t help him in his work, he didn’t even know that the earth revolved around the sun and when Watson told him he basically said he would promptly forget it because he didn’t want to take up space in his head with useless information. He didn’t know anything about popular books or philosophy either but he did play the violin
House’s pettiness almost got the best of him lol
😂😂😂😂it would have been fun to see what would have happened if he said what he wanted in the end🤣🤣🤣🤣I felt bad for him, cz he hardly likes anything like that book, someone should have warned him before so that he did something that she could have finished her book first lmao.
Any person: Try me
House: I will do you one better and WIN
There is something so unbelievably funny about the sarcastic, misanthropic, intelligent adult obsessing over a kids book series and geeking out meeting the writer
I think pain has given him a better appreciation for the little things in life that cheer him up. And for that reason he can't be arsed being embarrassed about them. He doesn't have any guilty pleasures, just pleasures.
It gives me PTSD of George R R Martin Unfinished books series 😅
Patient: “Try and stop me”
House: “okay… THIS WOMAN IS ON A 72 HOUR PSYCHIATRIC HOLD”
This part was hilarious 😂😂
I could almost hear House saying to himself, “challenge accepted” when she said “Try and stop me”.
9:18 I was scared shitless for what he was about to say😂
He wants another book !
When your card declines at the therapist
It would have been in the top 5 worst things he has done
I think ive watched the entire house series on youtube by now.
fr
We'll be back to Schindler's List before long
Piecing the characters realtionships with just the youtube clips is certainly interesting
@gradesam6306 nahh, I've watched season 1-8 of house 100s of times, maybe thousands. I own the dvds, have all seasons on Google play, and I have hulu. And when I don't want to watch full episodes, I watch the RUclips clips and shorts.
"Who leaves books on a cliffhanger?"
IM LOOKING AT YOU, GARY PAULSEN
George R R Martin 🍻
E.R. Eddison, though he had an excuse.
I am an easy person: I see House MD and I click
😊
I love how house is this dont play by the rules guy who secretly cares about his patiants and staff but tries to hide it and not get too close due to his emotional traumas but always ends up doing the right thing even if its againsed the law, this is what a human is.
Yes… yes he is.
He should have gone all Annie Wilkes on her until she finished the book.
This is the one where House uses the MRI machine to read her book.
It gives me PTSD of George R R Martin Unfinished books series 😅
Whoever is in charge of this channel is my favourite person on this earth
Always loved this episode as I loved her in Alias😊
So great episode
The whole conversation about her leaving the book on a cliffhanger feels like it's talking about something else, when was season 7 released?
Amazing amazing episode ❤ I really loved the ending..House isn't a jerk as he looks like
I love this episode. House always had the best guest stars (Amy Irving, Candace Bergen, John Larroquette, LL Cool J, and on an on!)
Agreed.
That darth vader voice guy was also on the show
Dave Matthews too
@@chinaman1 OMG-YES!! And Kirkwood Smith played his father. It would have been great if Robert Sean Leonard had a scene with him since b they were in Dead Poets Society together.
@@chinaman1 Jeez. There were SO many great guest stars that I failed to mention James Earl Jones?! He was such a BAD guy.
Very interesting
house's reaction to the ending of her books is kind of mine to the ending of animorphs tbh
Anybody else think that in the end, she knows he was going to tell her he lied and then when he doesn't it impresses her just the right amount
I don't remember the leg part, Jesus Christ.
It wasn’t in the other clips uploaded on RUclips
Yes she's punishing herself..for her sons death
You know the small things the nurse does in this scene is so cute. I love it when directors make use of people like that.
Why does he compare her pulse to that of the nurse?
House, notorious cody rhodes fan
Everybody lies. Even House.
When is lying ethical?
When lies are inevitable
Apart from the usual "white lies" ("I'm doing great, thanks."), only in extreme cases of self-preservation or when wanting to prevent unnecessary harm or suffering to others.
Beyond that, lies rarely solve any issues and only make things worse down the road, the longer that lie is maintained. As painful as the truth can often be, at least it provides some sort of closure for everyone involved and for better or worse, allows them to move on.
When it saves someone's life.
When it serves the other person and not yourself?
Easy; when you're House
"how many answers do you get in real life?"
when your house you get all of them so your point is invalid madam
Nothing like a irrated House telling Cuddy to shut up like a child 😂😂😂😂
9:07 Well, according to the series finale, you do, House
What now?
It's not a cliffhanger tho, it's an open ending heavily implying Watson dies of cancer shortly after
What's inconclusive is how Holmes evolves after that, I'd say it's unlikely he doesn't just go nuts and goes back to prison
@@shadourow-bathory6965its either begging on the streets or going underground, which would be a pretty cool House sequel.
@@shadourow-bathory6965 HOLMES AND WATSON?!
@@spiderslayer3640Wait, you think it's actually a show about DOCTORS ?
People need a little of hope.
Of course it sucks that it's a lie but at least she will live. 💝
Maybe their hallucinations ought to get together.
This channel has gone full circle and is now reuploading already uploaded videos.
What happens when you let McLovin drive.
HOUSE MD LETS GOOO ❤❤
I’m never gonna forgive Michael grant for how he ended the gone series
-House Has Very Bad Bedside Manners But Very Decorum 👨🏾⚕️🥀🌹
Dr. Breaking Bad.
She's a lazy story teller.
I love Tv shows about doctors but I hate them IRL and I don’t know why. They are not normal IRL like they are on TV shows. Doctors IRL often act like psychopaths.
Because real life doctors don't get to sit down and focus on a patient wholeheartedly like they do in shows. House spends days, weeks on finding the answer for a patient, talking to them, getting to know them. In real life there just aren't enough doctors to go around for that. It's little wonder they're not all that empathetic when they're bouncing through so many patients in a day, every day. After a while I'm sure the patients just feel like a task to complete rather than a person, when one has no room to breathe.
If your kid can get you to do whatever they want, you need parenting classes desperately...& your child needs you to take them even more desperately.
That's not parenting.
This is a very trash episode. It's in my list of Bottom 10 House M.D. episodes.
