Just don't challenge a professional on their terroritory period.
"OMG, the mad lad actually did it"
I love how at 8:04 Chase is like a kid and literally stretches his whole arm out while saying "do him"
This lady had a syringomyelia, a cyst on her spinal cord. She doesn't actually see Jack -- she explains its a "writers' thing".
I appreciate comments like this
I thought the reason that she imagines Jake is because she's so wrapped in guilt from his death she just imagines him to be there, plus it kinda is a good reason why she's so suicidal the whole episode
@@funnelingspace9268 I gave her explanation. But you're right. Somewhat. I think her explanation is also right.
Maybe spoiler warning and a lot of explanation.
I think the kid she sees throughout the episode is not her son. It's mashup of her son and Jack Cannon from her books.
We don't know all that much about her son at all. Except that he's a bad driver and died in that crash. He appears at the end of the episode, stating it wasn't her fault. Same kid in appearance.
Watch the opening scene again, starting at 0:36
We know Jack Cannon bears a scar on his cheek and constantly Yo-yos. He's also a boy-detective extraordinaire.
Look at 1:34 "Put it down, or...or, I'll make you." That is *not* her son saying that. Totally flat-affect act doesn't seem to care much if his mom dies.
But the kid wants to read the new, and final novel. Which, presumably, Jack the character, wouldn't need to do. Since, he lived the life of that very character.
The boy, if Jack from the books, would be able to help write "the next ones"
like he wants to in the opening scene. So would her son, but wouldn't her son rather be doing something like hanging out with friends or being on a computer?
The kid knows what a computer is! Presumably, the son died before computers were around. Fine, maybe they weren't big, but surely the son wouldn't want to just hang around with his mom in the study.
No, this boy does as Alice wants him to do, not as she remembers him. He doesn't age, yet evolves with time to know the technology of the day.
The kid is just a kid. He's neither her son or Jack. He's an amalgam of Jack, her son, what she wanted her son to be, and her take on teenage kids.
@@Bombay1618 As someone who writes, having hallucinations and interacting with them is definitely not a "writer's thing". It may be _her_ "writer's thing" though.
That is something I have heard that both Dickens and Seuss had to some degree.
I love that the maid knew exactly what to do with a person having a seizure, that's the first time I've seen a seizure on the show where a caregiver held the head to stabilize the neck.
I got sad when she said "You don't even exist..." I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHY
Because we’re thinking he’s her son :(
@@MsTinkerbelle87 schizophrenics in the title i knew he was not real from the start the scar on his cheek suggest he killed himself probably had the same thing his mom had.
@@hardwirecars Technically she’s not a schizophrenic. She’s also clearly not delusional as she knows he doesn’t exist. She knows the voices aren’t real, but invents them as a coping mechanism. The voices don’t control her in any way, so I wouldn’t call that schizophrenia. She clearly does have PTSD, but uses his spirit and writing abilities to keep the memories of her son alive, so to speak.
@@MsTinkerbelle87 He was her son he represented the guilt she felt from losing him
This is good writing. They have a real command of House's character.
House watches soaps, he talks about how the author has a love triangle
The author dresses Cuddy down over being a woman, House loves to tease Cuddy about being feminine in a typically male position
The author fires her maid when she tries to pity her, House HATES pity.
The author reads Chase and Taub like a book, House loves to do that.
The writers hand crafted the in-universe book to appeal to everything House loves all she needs is a music element.
Interesting enough, House was able to one-up the patient twice with his sarcasm and manipulation. So, there’s one difference.
To be fair, Cuddy is a pretty poor boss given how she isn't able to rein House in. Her management skills aren't the best even though she can run the business side of the hospital.
The difference is, the qualities she shares with House come out in a way that makes her insufferable and cringe.
@@mish375 WRONG, Cuddy was the only one who could rein House in or rather manage him. She knew that house was a valuable asset and he was almost always right so her job was to figure out when to say yes and when to say no to his ideas. She managed it pretty well. She knew that tightening the grip would do no use and result in more deaths but she also knew that giving too much freedom could also be detrimental to House and the hospital. she had a whole hospital to run, not just house, and she did it well imo.
I’ve literally never watched this show in my life but now I can’t stop watching clips it’s addicting omg
its on amazon prime video and u may be able to get a 30free trial and binge watch a couple seasons.
otherwise, dailymotion has a lot of episodes if you know how to search for them (no season 8 tho)

House being a bro!
Haha It was really great
Quite a different House from the one that so spectacularly c*ck-blocked Chase at the poker party in "All In" so that Chase "wouldn't spend the rest of the night thinking you might get laid, and then you'd be useless." 😂
(Speaking of which, PTB, you should really put up some clips from that episode; it was one of the best.)
Ngl that little wave chase did to her was really cute lol
Amy Irving is a very good guest actor. Top drawer.
Completely agree! I've liked her in every movie that I've seen her in, even some older ones that many might not remember (The Competition with Richard Dreyfuss) and she's always put in a solid performance. Her face doesn't convey a very wide range of emotion, though; could it be why she's somewhat underrated?
That's Amy Irving???
Thanks for that. I never would have guessed.
Sure is! A little older like the rest of us, lol, but as good as ever! ❤
Amy Irving so Beautiful
In addition to being a tremendous singer.
She be typing like a college student who forgot their essay is due the next day.

@ツcastiel Sure, if you’re only frame of reference for them is One Flew over the Cuckoo’s Nest.
Oh yeah let's not send a person with PSYCHIATRIC problems to a PSYCH WARD that will make things much better!
It wouldn't be the first time that someone wrote something phenomenal in an alternate state of mind: Stephen King penned some of his best works while on a ton of drugs and alcohol, and can't remember having done so. Lewis Carol allegedly wrote Alice in Wonderland while tripping hard.
And Alduous Huxley wrote Brave New World while taking loads of LSD!
...which explains why it's so fucking weird.

Who knew House would be a wingman
he was happy himself in this episode, house in season 5 would never have
I’m so surprise that this series covered this disease. I have it and it is very painful. I also have M.S., Endometriosis, and Interstitial Cystitis. I’m a chronic pain patient. I understand House’s pain. I just wish the series wouldn’t demonize opioids. I could go on and on, but I won’t. Thanks for reading my comment.
The series doesn’t demonise the opioids but rather the abuse of them.
House isn’t your normal chronic pain patient. We literally see him in episodes downing an entire bottle in a single day, sometimes to drown his emotional pain, get high etc. In his own words and actions, those were his reasons.
On the contrary, I believe the show did an excellent job proving his pain is largely physical but also psychological which is a very common phenomenon and didn’t just down play it as ‘it’s all in his head’,and did a decent job showcasing the side effects of abuse of opioids, even though I’ve seen far worse in patients who weren’t nearly as extreme as House.
I’m so sorry you have to go through all of that, I hope whatever you do to cope is easing your pain,at least to an extent and have a nice day.
Ya'll ever just hit somebody with a you don't *EXIST* ?
